I bought this in Vintage Vamp which is a very rich, dark red (almost verging on dark brown). I was a little disappointed in the size of the brush, I was expecting it to be a lot wider so I could get the job done in 1-2 strokes each nail. On application, the first coat went on quite streaky so I was a little disheartened but upon putting my second coat on it became fully opaque, phew! Drying time is pretty good, but not super fast. The very tips started to chip the day after application, even with a good top coat but I find that happens with all of the polishes I use, so it's not really a biggy for me. I'd say it lasts me about a week before it becomes tatty looking and I have to remove it, which I don't think is bad at all. The colour looks beautiful against my fair skin! Overall, probably one of my favourite polishes at the moment. I normally wouldn't spent this much on a nail polish but this is deffinately worth it.

I find the MAC nail polish to be 100 times better than OPI. It lasts so much long and it hardly chips - I only need 2 coats and I don't even use an under or over coat! Can't wait to go and get more!

I have Nocturnelle (black).
This nail polish is quite sheer, very fluid (a bit streaky), so two to three coats are necessary. It doesn't dry too fast, but it doesn't take too long either. Quite glossy, but it still needs a top coat, I think.
The quality is just average, it wears off at a similar rate than a not-too-cheap drugstore nail polish, but it doesn't readily chip.
The quality for the price is therefore not so amazing, but I would repurchase if I see a colour I really like.
All in all acceptable.

Booooo. I am officially over these. I love the colors they release, and you only need a couple of coats which I like. What I don't like is that they chip like a mother after a couple of days WITH a base and top coat. I recently bought Vintage Vamp and on the second day, it peeled right off like those nailpolishes for little girls. There are far better quality polishes at your local drugstore, IMO. Update: So now I have discovered that it was infact an OPI top coat that peeled off, not this polish, but it still chips like a mamma jamma.

I can't say enough about the MAC Nail Lacquers. I just receieved Perplexed, a rich brilliant eggplant purple; love it! sets quickly, doesn't smudge, chips a little, after a day.
i love that this shade is actually purple and doesn't come on black.
grab it before it's gone! $11 is more than i would normally pay for nail polish, but this formulation is worth every penny!

I love their cream nail lacquers! They don't go on streaky and the dry evenly. My nails still chip with this polish within 24-48 hours (even with their base and overlacquer -the overlacquer I love btw!) but I think they chip a little less than when I use other nail polishes.

The polish tend to run a little streaky when newly bought, but as it dries up over time, it's more sticky and less runny.
It does still have tendency to chip and peel like crazy, even with a base and top coat. It starts chipping on the second/third day, and starts peeling soon after. While the colors are very nice and unique, the formula really gets the polish nowhere.

I don't dare to use drugstore brand nail polishes because I have a shaky hand when applying. I like to get everything done in one stroke.
Mac nail lacquer has many color selections and quite smooth when applying although tempted to dry over time and need shaken up every time I apply it. Overall, for the $10, for the huge bottle, it's well spent.

what a great deal! I've always used nail polish from brands like sally hansen and OPI, but MAC's lacquer is by far the best. The color goes on nice and thick and dries really fast surprisingly. I used a bright pink solid color and it's just the same as it is in the bottle. None of the other brands look the same once I put it on my nail. MAC is really rich in color and there is certainly no 'sheer' feeling to it. I'm surprised that MAC is better than OPI which is what I've always used. I received lots of compliments not only on the nice pink color, but people asked me why it was so shiny. It looks like I have pink gems on my fingers :) and it's only $10!!!! even cheaper than OPI

I like the quality of MAC nailpolishes. I have tested several and own Gee Whiz (bright deep pink)...the colours turn out EXACTLY as they look in the bottle and the laquer is of a high quality. I only need one coat on my fingers AND toes! (plus topcoat). It goes on streak free, dries fast and rests chipping/fading/colour wear. I prefer this to OPI as I have found the application easier and the colour more true.
Note: the nail polish is a lot thicker and creamier than drug store brands, so you might be tempted to think its getting "old" (as drug store bradn nail polishes get) but its just the formula and the creamy quality makes for a great application!

Update: After a few more uses I've noticed that this nailpolish chips VERY fast - overnight! I've revamped my rating accodingly.

I really wanted to love this product -- their colors, especially the cremes, are great. But the polish itself is disappointing. I generally use OPI and am used to the slightly unctuous application with deep, deep shine, and I haven't found either of these things in MAC lacquer. I have Lady Minx and Shirelle (fantastic colors) and was immediately and grossly disappointed in the application. The polish is thin and tends toward streaky; I required 3 coats and it's still kind of disappointing in the sunlight. And the depth just isn't there -- I just don't get that slick wet shine as I do with the OPI colors. Nevertheless, I am likely to purchase again because I love their colors, and I think if I apply 2 coats of topcoat I might be able to tease out the shine. Maybe.

I really like this polish. I have a really hard time applying it, but it's not really the polishes fault because I can't even really apply clear polish all that good! I'm not positive if mine is the new formula, but I think it is because I just got it and it says nail "lacquer". So, I went to the salon and brought my own MAC polish and had them use that. I like the array of colors as well as the quality of the colors. My polish came out exactly the same on my nail as it is in the bottle. I love that they're super shiny and are really OPAQUE! I have never tried OPI but I plan to get one and I will compare the quality of the both. The paint job lasted a good week and I was pretty rugged with them [i went four-wheeling and practiced my punching on a punching bag]. I love that MAC doesn't so any animal testing either. YAY! for a good polish!

Awesome, awesome nail polish! Waaaaaaay better than OPI, in my experience. Nice true colors, only need two coats, chip-resistant. And at 10 bucks a bottle, to me it's a steal! I have Nightfall, Duopink, Bridesmaid, and Vintage Vamp and Nocturnelle. Love 'em all! Fun rubber packaging, too. Plus it qualifies for B2M!

I can only speak for the cream Mac polishes, I have Vintage Vamp (dark wine), Rougemarie (red), and Senegal (medium red) polishes. I love the quality of the polishes. I can easily apply the polish w/ no streaks (I always use two coats). I think that it dries fairly quickly and after I apply the top coat, once dried I swear I'll have no chipping for up to a week on hands, and no chipping whatsoever on toes for like 2+ weeks. Will continue to buy.

Got "Tipover" as a present--it is way more tasteful on the hand than the bottle would imply. I am a nailbiter, and it hasn't chipped off me yet (the sparkles help.)

I bought Violet Smoke, and love it. Sometimes it's a deep violet-purple, other times it's almost bronze, other times, mauve. Gorgeous, and went on great. Liked the thick, rubberized bottle top, too.

The staying power is average but it does a great job staying on when paired with the company's top coat and base coat. My must have's are Twink Pink and Beige Mist. They are pastel, conservative, and classy.

I love this stuff! I chanced upon MAC's nail lacquers when i was searching for a hot pink colour. Then i discovered "Steamy" which up til today is still my favourite colour ever! i've gotten so many compliments on this colour! The latest colour i've got is a dark rich red "Rougemarie" and i love it as well!

For it to last, you have to apply at least 2 coats. For SGD19 they are more expensive than most nail colour (eg L'oral, revlon etc) but i think the price is justified because [1] the colours are great, [2] it does not chip easily even on the toes and i wear flip flops all the time, [3] the finish is glossy even w/o top coat and [4] it has enough pigment so you don't have to apply coat after coat which becomes real gross.

will i buy it again? you bet! i've already finished my bottle of "Steamy" and that's a first for me.

I love these new MAC formulations. They are much nicer to your nails than most ds brands. Even the dark colors don't discolor the whites of my nails. Current favorites are a beautiful brown called Spicemix (I never thought I'd like a brown polish but this one really, really looks gorgeous) and Golded (a pink sheer that flashes gold).

I got the Nail Lacquer in Twink Pink- a pale pink shimmery color. It dried very fast and looks very cute on both my hands and feet! It glided on very easily, so it was very hard to make mistakes, even with my other hand! I would definitely recommend it. UPDATE: It did chip off pretty easily on my nails, but on my toes it stayed on well. Also, it seems kind of drying on my nails. I would still recommend it.
