In the past 3 days, something has cleared up horrible acne and old acne scars on my jawline enormously. It's either this, the MB AHA moisturiser or Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser. I'm pretty sure it's this.

I've been using it at night on the affected area (on top of the AHA moisturiser), and each morning the angry redness has faded a bit more, and I have no new spots. It's amazing. I'm never going to have 'nice' skin, but to have skin smooth enough, and scars faded enough to be able to cover them with makeup is my holy grail. Something's working :)

It's been a while since I've taken the time to review a product, but I just have to join the choir with this one.

Backstory; about two months ago, I switched birth control, and my skin went crazy. I got deep, painful cysts and big, painful whiteheads all over my hairline, temples and around my mouth/cheek area. I have kept to a very simple and effective routine for years, which has always worked for me - my skin is an annoying combination of very dry (lacking both fat and moisture), very sensitive and breakoutprone, so it takes a delicate balance.
But my skin went from clear to anything but, and I just didn't know what to do. I tried what I already had - a combination of chemical peels from MUAC, homemade coldpressed organic oil blends by night and Embryolisse by day. This would usually work very fast on anything, but it only mildly softened it. I would apply foundation first thing in the morning, something I've never done before, and even with foundation on I looked an awful mess.

Enter Mario Badescu Healing Cream. I have seen the brand before on BeautyBay and sites like it, but I always thought it was an expensive hype-brand, so I never bothered to try it. After reading the reviews on the site and on this forum, I thought "why not?" and got it.
I put it on at night two days ago, and when I woke up, I litterally giggled, screamed and jumped in the air - my face looked almost normal, the breakouts looked tiny and un-scabby, the redness in all of my face was practically gone. I applied it again last night, and this morning; same thing. There is almost nothing left, and my skin looks so calm and healthy.

I really thought people were overexaggerating, but apparently not. I'm going to keep on using at night for the next 3 days, by then my face should be better than normal, and then I'll take a break.
Based on the other reviews, I think you have to be careful not to overuse it - otherwise it might lose potency on your skin or/and make your skin dependant on it.
The colour is a greenish yellow, and I think it smells like an odd brand of candy (BonBon) from Denmark, which is weird, but nothing unbearable. The texture is, as others have pointed out, like a moistureless moisturizer - it's very weird, and feels almost dry when you put it on, but it doesn't look dry and it moisturizes very well.
I usually have problems with sensitivity, but I only got a very slight tingle from this one (unlike the Dermalogica Toner, which burns like a freaking acid).

Another thing I noticed; I've always mixed my own mineral foundation from smaller brands, because regular colours look strange on me, and I came to the conclusion that my foundation needed to be paler and more golden/yellow than my face to actually look natural. Well, when I woke up this morning, my face was the precise same shade as my foundation - my foundation might even be a little darker. So it turns out that my skin really does look like that; it is just always pink and flushed due to who knows what. I have no idea how it does it, but the Healing Cream has been a miracle worker for me, and I didn't even expect it to be. Holy Grail, big time!

This is an HG item for me. I love this product. I have acne-prone, oily, very sensitive skin and this stuff is magical. I apply a medium amount of product all over my face after applying my acne treatment and moisturizer, to seal it all in and really nourish the skin. This is more of a thick balmy cream, so I wouldn't suggest using it during the day unless you have super dry skin that doesn't get oily. That said, at night, it is perfect. I will sometimes spot treat red areas with a little extra before going to bed and in the morning the redness will be greatly reduced. It does heal acne spots and acne scarring nicely, without scarring. It seems to have even helped my old acne scarring from before I found this product. HOWEVER, it is not a one-time, overnight miracle cream. Usage over time is what makes this product work well at preventing scarring from acne. I love how few ingredients are in this and how simple it is. The only downside to the product is the packaging. It comes in a little plastic tub, and it is not exactly super hygienic when you have to dip fingers in to get product out.

This cream has done miracles for my skin. I've got dry, sensitive combination skin prone to acne, and my face usually seems to be half and half with pimples, red spots, rashes and dry, flaky skinned. I've tried creams for sensitive skin, creams for acne-prone skin, creams for dry skin, exfoliated, used masks and you know what, without much success.

I was very excited when I read the reviews, and ordered the cream right away. It comes in a small jar, but thankfully you don't need a huge amount of cream, as it applies thinly. The cream itself is yellow, and has a quite neutral smell, not pleasent, not unpleasent. I do wish it came in a tube though, and not a jar, for hygienic reasons.

I decided to apply it all over the face in place of a moisturizer. It feels quite heavy while you apply it, but it seems to be absorbed fast, and doesn't make me oily in the t-zone. The morning after, I woke up, my skin looking better than ever. Less redness, skin is super soft, and the dry, flaking patches seem to have magically disappeared. I was so pleased, and I've used it as a moisturizer ever since, often in combination with the control cream (for very red, irritated areas) and the drying cream (for acne, particularly good at the cystic ones).

My skin looks much better, it's less redness, it's soft, but not oily, and best of all, all the dry patches are gone. No more make-up ruined by ugly, flaking skin. I will definitely repurchase, and I have every intention of purchasing more Mario Badescu products, as they seem to work wonders for my skin.

I was initially interested in Mario Badescu's healing cream after hearing and reading such great reviews about it. The bane of my existence lately has been the acne scars - hyper pigmentation - left behind by a few vicious hormonal, cystic pimples. My skin is fairly normal to combination: a little oily in the t-zone and sometimes a little dry in my cheeks. It wasn't until my late teens to early 20s that I began to get pimples - which were a totally foreign concept to me until that point. And it took me a while to figure out that they were hormonal, as I would get one or two massive cystic pimples a week before my period. To add serious insult to injury, I also happen to have skin that scars and bruises very easily - so each pimple left a battle wound that would remain long after it was gone.
Enter the MB Healing Cream. A friend had told me the MB line had worked miracles for another friend with extremely problematic and acne-prone skin; and the sales associate at Naimie's even told me that her client used nothing but the healing cream nowadays after it had healed her acne scars. So I was pretty hopeful when I went home with this little white tub of thick, chartreuse paste. The first few weeks of use were amazing. Not gonna lie! As I mentioned, I only have the hyper pigmentation on my chin, so that is the only area I applied this cream at first. I eventually began to also apply it to the sides of my nose, where I have mild redness, because this cream is also supposed to be reduce redness. For the first time in 3 years, I was able to go 2 whole months without a single pimple! The dark acne spots on my chin, while still visible, were also making progress in the right direction.
But then I started to notice little white and black heads on my face - specifically, on my chin and on the sides of my nose! I had never had those before! I am sad to report that the healing cream is the culprit of these tiny intruders. I'm fairly certain now that the cream is non-comedogenic and has been stealthily clogging my pores over the past few months of use. After I discontinued its use, I am experiencing tiny little pimples on the side of my nose and chin, as well as a few other bigger (and angrier) pimples. I think that may have something to do with the Peru Balsam ingredient - which I am reading can be physically addicting for your skin while also causing dermatitis.
I'm sad to say I will be throwing out the rest of this tub because I really appreciated what it was doing for my hyper pigmentation but not enough to put up with the white and blackheads and the other pimples being caused by the clogged pores.

I really really like this product. I have used it before I go to sleep as a moisturizer on its own, as I suffer from quite a bit of acne (jaw line, chin, forehead). It has helped to clear up new and old acne scars for me, and has made my skin extremely soft. My face tends to feel quite tight and dries up because of other treatments, and this does an amazing job with giving elasticity back to my skin and making it feel "healed" again. I find it to be worth the money, although the packaging could be more customer friendly and I have to have it shipped over.
Def worth trying!

Let me tell you now, this product does wonders on angry, red, broken skin. Leave it on overnight and you'll wake up with significantly calmer, smoother skin. The storm has broken, hallelujah.

Sure, at 30.00USD for a 1 oz. jar it seems expensive - however you only need to use a small amount on each affected area.

My only criticism is the yellow tint to the cream, which occasionally rubs off on a white pillow or sheet if I'm sleeping with it on.

(As everyone's skin is different, mine is pale, late-twenties, combination with an oily, large-pored t-zone and normal everywhere-else. I haven't seen a wrinkle yet but I breakout if don't wash my face religiously. My skin also is somewhat sensitive and doesn't respond well to benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.)

I love this product. Although, it works the BEST when you FIRST apply it.
I've heard about this product, YEARS ago. What took me so long to try it? No idea. The day I received this product in the mail, my initial reaction was "aw, how cute" its in this TINY little jar. The scent took some getting used to lol man the day after I applied it, my skin was SO clear and SO smooth. I immediately wanted to go throw any other skin care product I own in the trash, THAT'S how impressed I was with this product initially. But like how all good things must come to an end, I don't know if I'm the only one who experiences this but as great as the product still is, it doesn't seem AS amazingly effective as it was when I first applied it. *shrug* Still my holy grail lotion though. My skin has been so dramatically difference after using this product that I wish I had tried it sooner!
So don't make the same mistake as I did on waiting ladies, YOU SEE the amazing reviews for this product, do yourself a favor and order yourself a jar!

I think my skin has gotten too used to this product that it relies too much on it.. haha

I last purchased this around.. a year and a half ago and have been using it almost every day. It has helped a lot with reducing the redness on my face and has drastically reduced and eliminated my acne. (alhough I still had the few breakouts when it's that time of the month) but other than that, it does wonders!

But last week, I ran out of healing cream and so I didn't use it for 2 days..ish. and suddenly I got a really bad breakout.. and small bumps starting appearing.. not sure why, but I'm guessing it's because I needed the healing cream? (as bad as it sounds.. haha) so I immediately had to repurchase this off Mario Badescu website cause I can't get it anywhere else in Canada... thank god it only took two days to arrive! because the day I got the cream, I immediately put it on at night and int he morning, it looked A LOT better. not as red and there weren't as many bumps..

so um.. in summary.. I guess I can say that I LOVE THIS PRODUCT, but I hate that my skin relies soo much on it... haah

after a long wait for this product to arrive i was instantly put off by the colour! however was happy to finally recieve my product and hopefully get some results and fast, the cream was more like a paste then a moisturiser and i had difficulty blending it in, i had to be really carefull around the jaw line and found it clung to my eyebrow hair! had been using it for about a week and decided it wasnt actually doing anything, wasnt making my skin any worse(thank god) but wasnt making it better either, everything that was there wen i started was still there and still the same! the cream did tend to make my face appear more oily especially after using it at night and i am sure its the colour that gives the impression of your problems fading, once its washed off the redness and scares are exactley the same! carried on using this for a couple more weeks but decided to stop and continue my search for something more effective and worth the money and wait! glad i only purchased the small jar first. miricle cream it definatley is not!

So I started using a new makeup primer (Victorias secret oil free primer) about a week ago and ended up having a crazy allergic reaction to it (my skin is not very sensitive, so this was the first time anything like this ever happened!) I freaked out yesterday morning when i woke up with a huge rash across my chin and jawline, as well as a horrible break out on half of my forehead. Like i said, I don't typically have sensitive skin and my skin is usually very clear. So i went straight to ultra after work and the lady recommended this line to me to help heal the breakouts. I picked up the healing cream and the buffering lotion. OMG it is AMAZING! I washed my face last night and then applied the buffering lotion first, let that set in and then put the healing cream over it and finished with my normal moisturizer. I woke up the next day and ALL of the bumps were completely gone! It worked amazing for me! the only thing i haven't seen as far as healing is that the spots that used to have bumps are still pretty red, but i can cover redness up a whole lot easier than bumps. I am sold on this product and will def repurchase!

I've owned it for four months now and while it doesn't have the "miracle" effects of making zits disappear, I am finding this cream is handy when it comes to occasional redness. I bought this on a whim off Gilt.com because it was cheaper than retail price. While it doesn't heal the zit itself, it really does calm and soothes acne inflammation. I've found the pimple does not swell up and the redness dissipates. It also doesn't dry up my skin as any kind of acne treatment may do. This is great after a clay mask as it moisturizes cools any remaining heat underneath the skin. Then you can rinse off and apply your overnight blemish treatment. I find doing this prevents any kind of skin flaking off from drying blemish treatments. This also works calming the irritation from bug bites. As far as re-purchasing, for the price, even with the Gilt.com discount, it is still too much money. Since I typically use this on the 1-2 pimples I may get per month, I only use a small amount. In the four months that I've owned this, I still have a little more than half of the product left in the plastic jar. I suspect this will last me awhile at this rate. However, the plastic jar this cream comes in is not very sanitary or practical. Either it should come with a small spatula to take the cream out or it should be re-packaged as a tube.

Amazing product. It's the only thing that works for redness for me. I have sensitive skin and get irritated easily. This is the only thing that helps. Unfortunately, you don't get much for the price and I don't really love jars for hygienic reasons- but this stuff really works !

I've been using this for about a month or two. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not. It does help with the redness, but I'm not sure if it speeds up the healing process or keeps the acne from scarring or whatever. I'm using it at night along with my usual moisturizer and while there's a slight difference, I'm not sure if I'll keep using the healing cream as it is expensive and slightly difficult to use. While I'm not opposed to buying it again there's not much that would make me buy it again either.

I LOVE this stuff! Heres why:

Its made in the USA!
It does help heal any breakouts I currently have faster.
I do see a difference with having less redness with my acne.

Only con is that it does not rub in super easy but its not that bad and I have gotten used to it. You might have to do a combo of patting and rubbing!

This does not prevent breakouts or anything but for a regular moisturizer it does help with the redness and swelling of any acne you get or have. It also helps make scarring better. It is a little pricey but for me worth it. Its not full of 50 million ingredients. I really like it and recommend it for an everyday moisturizer and night cream. :)
