I loved how it smelled (must be its all-natural ingredients list) and how my skin was glowing afterwards, but it was so mild I kind of expected more for the price. Also, I ended up with more gunk in the pores of my nose afterwards (as in, my pores were darker, if that makes any sense) which was not a nice side effect. I probably won't buy again (as it is, I got the sample).

I really love this mask. I use it once a week to exfoliate dry skin and it overall makes my skin smoother and more supple. Also, it works to minimize pores and blackheads, a major plus! It works best on just washed dampened skin and if I leave it on for about 15 mins. I find it just as effective as using a scrub on my face without using the harsh abrasives. I like the fact that all the ingredients are mostly non-chemical. I would buy this product again and again, just wish it wasn't so pricey - but it's worth it since I don't use it on a daily basis.

This is a great once-in-a-while skin silkener. It's one of the most gentle but effective exfoliators I've ever used. The enzymes dissolve away dead skin and flaky areas leaving everything smooth, bare and moist, very receptive to treatments & moisturizers. It's great for those who can't do scrubs, but want to clear everything away once in a while. Truly non-irritating unless your skin is already feeling touchy & inflamed. Wait 'til your skin is fairly normal to use it.

Have repurchased several times over the years.

I wanted to like this mask, but It seemed no matter how little I left it on, It still didn't agree with my oily skin. It said "For all skin types" in the jar. If it's not for oily skin then why don't they just say so???

Love this mask! Started with a $5 trial size from Whole Foods and just bought the full size. It's a great gentle hydrating and exfoliating mask for my combo skin. I'm using it 2-3x a week. I was tempted to get Kate in Jar but glad I got this instead (cheaper and few ingredients). Only con: I hate jar packaging but that's my only complaint. Will definitely buy again. Ingredients for Fresh Papaya Enzyme Mask (from Zia Natural website): Green Papaya Concentrate, Sunflower Oil, Unfiltered Hawaiian Honey, Citrus Oil Extract, Vitamin E Acetate, Ceteareth 20, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

I really wanted to like this natural product, but I either had a mild allergic reaction or it clogged my pores. For the next couple of days after using the mask, I had tiny skin colored bumps on my forehead and nose. I was surprised that my skin reacted this way, b/c it's not all that sensitive and this product is natural/gentle. I'm sure it works great for most people. Such a bummer, b/c the price wasn't pretty and now it has to go up on the swap board.

I don't have much experience with enzyme masks, but I know this product did not do much for me. The first time I used it I did notice my skin was much smoother, but after that I didn't see any difference. I would keep on for 5-10 minutes...I tried 20 minutes once and it just stung too much to keep it on that long again. I also followed the recs here to add water after it dried to keep the enzymes active. Still, I wasn't pleased with the results. Didn't cause major breakouts, but I did notice little red bumps on the top of my cheeks. I guess my skin was irritated...I have acne-prone, sensitive skin and use Rx meds. Won't be repurchasing.

I have to preface this by saying that I absolutely love every Zia product I've tried so far. I use the Papaya Enzyme Mask the morning afer using the Citrus Night Time Reversal. Just used both of these last night/this morning, and per usual, they have left my skin clear, super soft and glowing.

This is the best mask ever! It is so gentle and yet the results are wonderful. It even works to fade brown spots if used regularly. If I notice my makeup is looking a little flakey, I use this and my powder foundation glides on again. I always buy the tiny sample size because it stays fresher that way and is only a few dollars and has about 3 uses in it.

Fresh papaya enzyme mask is a green paste that smells like honey, which is the third ingredient. The papain enzyme, which is a protein-digesting enzyme, dissolves dead skin cells only. This means little to no irritation as the live skin cells are left alone. I use this 2-3 times a week. I also use AHA nightly and Zia Ulitmate exfoliant every morning. This does not irritate my skin at all and keeps removes the dead skin cells so my AHA penetrate better and my moisturizer absorbs in better to my skin. For best results if you do not have sensitive skin use a facial scrub or Zia Ulitmate Exfoliant first. Then apply the mask to damp skin, misting every 5-10 minutes to keep the enzyme active. THe mask can be left on for up to 40 minutes. Those with sensitive skin should forgo the scrub and just apply the mask. I would say that this is great for all skin types except oily. Comes in a 1.5 oz plastic jar for around $22.00. Ingredients: green payaya extract, sunflower oil, unfiltered Hawaiian Honey, citrus oil extract, vitamin E, ceteareth-20, methylparaben, propylparaben and Diazolidinyl Urea.

I didn't like this at all. I didn't see any real "glow" afterwards, nor did it unclog any pores. In fact, I think this may have actually contributed to my clogged pores. Overall, I wasn't impressed, especially for the price. I think Alba and Jason put out nicer, more effective enzyme products for a much better price. Wouldn't re-purchase.

This is a great product for those w/ sensitive skin, but whom also enjoy exfoliation. When I apply it to damp skin, it tingles. So, I know that it is working. Once removed (after 15 minutes), my skin is brighter and more evenly toned. The two best things about this product are that it doesn't dry me out nor does it cause me to break out. This is highly recommended. (I also like the pumpkin peel my MyChelle.)

This is a nice exfoliating mask, that, for me, has had no negative effects. No stinging and very little redness, just a fresh rosy look to my face. I use it once a week and it makes my face feel soft and smooth. I advise making sure your face is pretty damp when you spread it on and also that you rinse well with tempid water.

Made my skin very smooth, though I'm not sure if it was all that different in the first place, esp. on the cheeks. Expensive, but if it does turn out to be very good, I'd buy it again for weekly use.

This is the only mask my sensitive skin will tolerate without any stinging, reddening or drying out. And it does work to help the appearance of my skin. Smoother more even toned and reduced pore appearance. Needs to be applied to very damp skin. Rinses away easily.

This is one of my two HGs of face masks (the other being Victoria Principal's Enzyme). It doesn't irritate my skin, break me out, and it WORKS. A little secret I found is to wash my face with my usual sponge because that exfoliates even further.

I was skeptical at first that you could attain a minor peel effect from a mask, but I was wrong! Zia's Papaya Enzyme Mask is the real deal! I left it on my combo skin for 15 minutes while taking a bath, and when I rinsed it off, my skin was incredibly smooth and uniform. The next day while applying my makeup I could not get over how smooth my skin was! Total HG product.

I've used this mask for a couple of years. I never have a problem with it, and my skin is always nice, smooth, and glowy afterwards. I have very dry, sensitive skin, and this exfoliates without any burning or itching. It might not work as well for oilier people though.

I also buy the small sample-size of it, because it takes me so long to get through the tiny pot that I'm worried the big one would go bad before I used it up.

I really wanted to like this product, but it was only average and I didn't notice any real difference in my skin after, it just looked really clean. Not exactly everything I was hoping for from a mask.
