This product was gifted to me so I can't really comment on its value in terms of its price. I guess since it's been discontinued that doesn't matter as much now, though MAC sometimes brings products back from the dead, so who knows?!
On the whole, I think it's a pretty great lip product. It certainly is conditioning and it feels light and smooth on my lips. Unlike similar products, it has a non-greasy texture and feels natural. The smell and taste are sweet (signature vanilla, of course). The coral tint is surprisingly pigmented for a lip conditioner and looks great against my NC25/NW20 skin - on friends with darker or lighter skin, it still looks fantastic. Versatile colour! So, if you can get your hands on it, I think you'll appreciate it in your collection - mine just keeps lasting and lasting!

I'm so sad that this is discontinued because I LOVE this tinted lip balm! Gentle coral is a warm deepened orange and works really well on my NC25-30 skin. The pigmentation is great, it's not too sticky and not too slippery either. It gives a sheen but not a glassy gloss like shine but I like it! The smell is delicious, their signature vanilla. The amount you get is very generous. My only complaint is the pot since i hate using my fingers for lip balms because all sorts of crud gets into it and balm gets under nails. However I don't see how this formulation could work well in a tube so I guess it makes sense.

WHY WHY WHY did mac discontinue this most popular product in gentle coral.Coral is not just a summer colour, it suits all skin tones. I used this on everyone and anyone, who all went out and bought it.This was a major staple of my kit. SOMEBODY SEND ME SOME PLEASE LOL

This is exactly what a human would expect from a tinted
lip balm. It's not noticeably moisturizing with a hint of color.
It wasn't as glossy as I would like and the color easily
clashes with any skin type!
I highly suggest testing it at the mac counter before buying.
I don't know the ingredients, but if it has mineral oil, please let me know. Then, I'll stop using it.
Take it or leave it:)

Eh... I bought this on a whim, the color was so vibrant in the pot, I couldn't resist. I have fair, freckled skin, and this color comes off as a flourescent pinky orange on my lips. I have tried to blot it as a stain, only apply a little, and apply more, but the color just doesn't work for me.

This product lasts forever. I wouldn't buy it again just because it will take a long time before I finish this. This is my gripe with some products- I wish there was less product for less the price. I like to couple it with MAC See Sheer for a polished look or to tone down the MAC Morange lipstick.

As a lip conditioner, I haven't found this product particularly moisturizing. Flavour is also so-so. Lots of product in the pot though, so will last.
On it's own the colour is okay, pretty wearable but nothing wow. My favourite way to wear it is over a sheer smudging of red lipstick, something like MAC's Ruby Woo, for a big juicy look.

I use it very often for my daytime look, this conditioner gives me the MLBB look. They just get a bit more red colour. I can't really tell if it conditions lips, since I use other products for that, but it's a great colour for everyday use.

I like this in combination w/MAC CCB Fabulush on my lips. Not such a fan of this by itself though. I have pigmented lips and need coverage to see the color that is supposed 2B there. I like the combo...but I think this will last me quite a while, so I said I wouldn't re-purchase only due to the fact that I'll probably move on way before I need a refill. BTW I'm a NC25...

I quite like this product because of the SPF and the light amount of colour. however i dont really like how sheer and ameteur it looks on the lips. its good for a day at the beach but something that i probably will put away after summer is over. i like it best with a few layers on for a nice deposition of colour and a dewey gloss.

Really cute and pretty on the lips! I'm a fair neutral (MAC N3, Revlon PR Vanilla) and this looks gorgeous on me. The trick for fair-skinned ladies is just to apply this lightly, not slather it on. It looks scary orange in the container, but on my lips it's a peachy-pink (think NARS Orgasm on the lips). It makes my lips looked flushed and healthy which is great for me since my lips are VERY pale. It smells and tastes delicious (like vanilla) and it moisturizes well. I deducted one lipstick because I wish it came in a stick. The price is reasonable ($14) and you get a pretty large pot. I think this will last a long time.

i am loving this product for the summer, its definitely one of my favorite lip products. there is one downside though, when you apply when your lips are DRY, then it will not look good, so use a really moisturizing lip balm (blistex?) and then use this and it will run on so smooth. also, my lips are very pigmented and this makes my lips more pigmented. its a very flattering color and this looks great on anyone. you can definitely build it up to be more or less coraly. buy! its only $14 for a jar that will last me at least a year to finish? (i use it everyday)
if i actually were to buy this product, i think i would want to try the other colors; maybe petting pink?

I'm a big fan of MAC TLCs... I think that they are top notch and I already have this in a few shades (namely: Petting Pink, Popster, Close for Comfort, Soothing Beige... this also reminds me that I should write a review for all of them).
I think this is by far one of the most pigmented of the ones I own, it is comparable to Popster, but I would say that Gentle Coral runs warmer, while Popster is a bright blue pink. Though even though it looks so daunting in the pan and you get a lot of the colour with a light swipe (as opposed to the kind of dipping/pressing motion you have to do with others) it goes on really smoothly and gives a still natural look. Not over-the-top at all... unless I suppose you really layer it on.
I typically wear this colour during the summer months, not because I get particularly tan, but because it's a nice fun pop of colour. Other wise, I also like to use it to moisturize my lips under/over my coral lipsticks.
I would say this is a my lips but but better and a pinch more red on my NC20/25 skin and pigmented lips.
Despite the colour disappearing after a meal or a cup of coffee, my lips still remain moisturized.
What i like most about the TLCs is that, even though I have dry flaky lips sometimes, the colour in these don't emphasize my dryness. Instead, I'm left with healthy looking, hydrated lips.
Will definitely repurchase this and other colours =)

Great color and staying power! It tastes very sweet. The glossy effect fades quite soon but the color underneath stays very long leaving the lips with a very flattering result. It is my everyday must have lip tint, will repurchase

Perhaps the only one of the tinted lip conditioners that actually shows up on my dark-at-the-corners lips and does not clash with my NC 40 skin. I know the product in the pot can look alarmingly bright, but it goes on sheer, only hinting at the colour, which is lovely.
I love that it’s not hyper-reflectively glossy. I love that unlike my tube of Dior it’s not so sticky that it traps flyaway hair. I love that it’s a conditioning balm. I love that like all MAC products I have to use so little. I love love love the vanilla scent and the way it brightens up my face without making my lips pop.
What I don’t like is that it comes in a pot, so I have to dip my fingers in. I find that too unhygienic (plus exposes more product to dust particles). Also it’s bloody expensive. One lippie off for that. But will still repurchase in the distant future when this one runs out.

I like the texture and the color...very sheer with a tint of pinkish-orange, and light on lips. Non-greasy, not too heavy. I don't like that it's in a jar, although the jar is wide, so it's not like you're dipping or digging your finger in it to apply. But it would still be nice if it wasn't a jar. I got a certifcate from Macy's and bought it with that...otherwise, it would have cost me $14 +tax, which is pretty expensive for lip balm. Not a bad purchase, I guess, but probably won't be purchasing it ever in the future. It's meh, to me.

Love the stuff! Was choosing between Petting Pink and Gentle Coral as an everyday lip colour at a MAC location and tried Gentle Coral first...and instantly chose it! I didn't even bother with Petting Pink, which probably would have washed my Filipina skin tone anyway.
What does this bright pinkish-orange do for me on a daily basis? Lightly, I apply it on my slightly dark, mauve-ish lips and it virtually lightens and brightens it to look like a healthy, plump pair of lips that smells exactly like vanilla extract to me.
Love it, and am sure it's worth a try for everyone.
Here, in Canada, it's 17.50 CAD +tax, so the total came to about 20.

GENTLE??? I'd love to know what MAC would call vibrant coral, because there is nothing Gentle about gentle coral lip conditioner. It is a very bright vibrant orange. You MUST be tanned to dark skin toned to wear this - i can't imagine fair skineed people wearing this it would be very clown like. It is very moisturing and overall a fairly nice color but a bit much for me!
