I've always been a fan of Prescriptives foundations. On a whim I decided to try something lighter and different. After so many years of searching I've finally found the perfect foundation for me. It blends in well with my other skincare products and gives my dry skin an extra bit of moisturizing. I have a relatively smooth and even complexion but when I use this with a tiny dab of Prescriptives concealer it takes my skin to the next level of flawless. I can't say how much I love this stuff and could never imagine using any other tinted moisturizer or foundation.

My HG foundation. I have used this for years and years, even when I worked for Clinique (shhhh, don't tell!) Technically, it's a tinted moisturizer, but way better than the standard TM. It totally kills all redness and will cover some discoloration. You do need a concealer for any active pimples. Most importantly, it doesn't run, disappear, flake, settle into lines, etc. This is huge for me as I have very challenging skin: oily, acneic, flaky from Tazorac, sensitive, with fine lines. This manages to make me look like I have naturally beautiful skin. The finish is mildly dewy, which I personally like, as I'm going for the natural look. It also feels like nothing on, which is so nice. Only complaint is that SPF 8 is completely insufficient and I need to apply another sunscreen underneath. I have only ever needed Level 1, even in the middle of summer, which is nice - so versatile. I set it on my oily areas with some of that white silica powder that you can get from any brand.

I used Prescriptives Virtual Skin years ago and always wanted to try Traceless but was worried I would be an oily mess since it's a TM. Ten years later, I'm on the hunt for a new foundation and figured I'd give it a try. My NC15, sensitive, reacts-to-everything, combo skin loves this foundation/TM. In fact, I receive more compliments on my skin when I use this than when I use anything else. I use Level 01 applied with a foundation brush, then set it with a small amount of Dior Forever powder and my skin looks flawless, glowing and natural. It lasts all day on me without any touchups and doesn't irritate my skin one bit. I hope Px keeps selling this online; it would be just my luck to find an HG after 10 years of searching and have it completely discontinued.

Sure, just when I try this and love it, Prescriptives goes out of business! Just my luck. Anyway, I'm a MAC C3, Stila C, and Level 3 is a perfect match. I love the texture, light-diffusing properties, the ease of application, the moisturization, how natural it looks on the skin, the way it doesn't sink into/emphasize wrinkles and pores, and how it wears. I wish it gave just a bit more coverage (hence the 1-lipstick deduction), and it wears better over a primer (I use Smashbox Light), but those are my only complaints. I use this as my "casual" foundation and wear my LM TM as for a more polished look. I bought a backup of this, although I'm betting that it'll turn up in one of EL's other lines.

This is a nice, generic tinted moisturzer that's easy to apply (you just slap it on). No staying powder and is a bit on the greasy side.

I often just use primer to even out my skintone but if I want to go one step up, I put this on and it evens out my skin without actually covering anything. It's great for a truly natural look.

i use this to even out skintone unevenness. it is very light and sheer and it gives a great dewy glow. it goes on a lot better if your skin is nicely moisturized beforehand.

wouldn't recommend this unless you have pretty good skin already.

Even though I am a Px junkie and love just about all their stuff, this tinted moisturizer just did not do it for me. It provided absolutely no coverage. There was a bit of shimmer but other than that ---Nothing. Being one who suffers from occasional acne breakouts I always have something to cover. I tried using concealer under the TM but it just looked unattractive. Honestly, the only time I would be able to wear this and pull it off perfectly would be in my dreams. There I always have perfect even mat skin without one blemish.

I have given 2 lippies as I can see this tinted moisturizer working great for individuals with flawless skin. Such individuals should be able to get some use out of this. If you are one of these girls with nothing to cover then this one is for you.

With that said, I will continue to use my HG Laura Mercier oil free TM.

I LOVE this stuff!!! I'm on my third bottle. I have sensitive, VERY oily moderately acne-prone far-from-perfect skin. But I don't like heavy makeup that creates the mask of perfection. (I kinda have issues with "scaring" people just because I've washed my makeup off!) So with that, I prefer my makeup to be as light and look as natural as possible to enhance the best of "me" and allow my skin to breathe. This product, as the name implies, is indeed "traceless" on the skin as it is literally undetectable by others or you. Yet, it "softens" imperfections and gives a soft natural clean glow. I'm REALLY oily so I do not use additonal moistuizer with this and it's perfect. I use a spot treatment underneath for acne blemishes and a LITTLE powder on top on those hot summer days or for a more "made-up" look. I love the low spf because high spf on dark skin looks wierd. Applied with a slightly damp foundation brush this glides on and blends glamorously and a bottle lasts forever - like 6+months for me. No problem with breakouts or irritation either! If you are seeking complexion perfection or a matte finish (and aren't blessed with it naturally) this is not for you. But for us "keep it real" ladies this is it!!!

I had been using Virtual Skin for about two years and ran out so I went to the Prescriptives counter to pick up another bottle. The MA there told me I had such nice skin that I didn't need the coverage of a foundation and pointed me to this. I used Real Gold in the Virtual Skin and Level 3 was a perfect match for me. The coverage is very sheer and it helps to just even things out a bit and tone down any redness. Feels weightless and blends easily. I didn't give this 5 lippies because there is just something lacking. I think maybe I am looking for a fresh, luminous glow and I don't get that from this. Don't get me wrong, Traceless is great. It leaves a natural, not-matte finish just like natural skin.

What I was looking for when I tried Traceless was a tinted moisturiser that provided sheer coverage to even out skin tone and still look like 'me'. I have tried others, but the problem I find is that a number of products feel the need to 'illuminate' and that can make combination / oily skins look greasy (eg Stila oil-free illuminating tinted moisturiser - good spf but makes me look shiny). I tried Traceless out in Level 2 (I'm a Stila 20 Watts, NARS Deauville) and it is INVISIBLE on my skin. It melts in and removes any redness and leaves a flawless, natural finish and my skin is so soft and velvetty to the touch. I don't have to work to blend it (like with other tinted moisturisers that are thick or where the colour match isn't spot on) and it is very slippery and smooth - a little goes a long way. The only downside for me is the low spf. There is a slight fragrance to this product which disappears once it is on your face, so those who can't handle fragrances, try it out first. I will definitely continue to use this!

I've just been sampling this as I'm desperate to find a good base to take over when I run out of my preferred and discontinued Clinique one.

I still have combi skin, am very (neutrally) pale, and am 48 - so I do have issues with wrinkles etc., and tried Level 2.

This applies nicely, but very lightly - not enough coverage for my slightly hyper-pigmented skin. Even though the colour is initally very good for my neutral requirements this does look a bit grey and a bit 'dirty' after a few hours. It's not really good for the oily areas, does seem to settle in fine lines unfortunately and takes my eye make-up on a journey down onto my cheeks if I get any base too near the eye area.
I can see this is a very nice product for very even, dry complexions, but doesn't work for me.

hey ladies! traceless is a wonderful products because it is one of few tinted moisturizers that you can actually go that shade deeper to get a nice tan glow without streaking. It is definately that product for the person thats looking for a nice natural and SHEER coverage. this product is definately NOT for COVERAGE but more for EVENING out the skin :). it is in no way irritating and is definately a great product for younger people just getting into using makeup.

something great that i use this product for is just as a ncie addition to any persons makeup bag that gets tan easy throughout the year. because it blends well with any foundation and can be used in addition to sheer any foundation out just a tad, keeping a shade lighter or darker is awesome for altering foundation colors to just get that tad difference in any shade!

hope this was helpful!

I really love this stuff! I got it on a swap (so I am not sure how much it costs) and it is lovely! Has very little coverage, so looks super natural. Nice and moist and easy to apply. I slap it on with my fingers and rub it in. A great everyday, light makeup for those of us in a hurry in the morning. My skin glows and just looks more even. Not for those of you who want a lot of overage - this stuff is quite sheer. I will definitely always have this very easy to use product in my cupboard.

I was looking for a foundation that was light and not too heavy. A co worker recommended Prescriptives to me so I went to the counter for a consultation. I like Prescriptives Traceless first of all because it looks like you are not wearing any makeup. Second, I love that it is oil free and non acnegenic. I use the Level 3 Tracless with the Magic Powder. When these products are paired together it makes your skin look flawless. I receive so many complements when I wear Prescriptives makeup. I will definitely purchase this product again.

Traceless is designed to have no coverage (duh, Traceless!), it's just designed to remove red, blue, and/or green tones from skin. This makes it a perfect primer when I use loose mineral powder because it cancels out my redness. I also use it on days I just want to put on my oil control pressed powder and be done.

I've worn this for years and keep thinking something miraculously better will come along...although I haven't found it yet. [The only thing that's far from ideal about Traceless is the lack of a decent broad-spectrum sunscreen.] This is more of a tinted moisturizer than a foundation, the light, dewy texture melts into my skin and never looks like I'm wearing makeup or settles into fine lines like foundation can. I wear #3 year-round, although it looks way too tan when I squeeze it out of the tube, it somehow sheers out on my skin and becomes undetectable - yet I look better [and more natural] with this than just about any expensive foundation I've tried. I literally blend it in with nothing but my fingers and just add a bit of concealer where needed.

Overall Rating: 5 lippies! Yay!

Price: It's a bit expensive, but I really like it, so I don't mind.

Packaging: 5 lippies! Yay!

I will re-purchase.

It feels like I have nothing on when I wear it. It blends in well and really evens out my skin tone. I have red blotchy sensitive skin sometimes and this stuff covers it without making it look like I'm wearing makeup. This morning I had a HUGE zit just below my noes! It looked like I had herpes, and I had to get up and speak in front of several people. I used this and it completely covered it. It also didn't come off during the day with it a big plus for me! Try it if you haven't, it's really great.

I just adore using this on the weekends when I want a no makeup look, it melts away into the skin and doesn't look like I'm wearing anything at all. I wear level 3 and have medium toned asian skin, occasional and minor blemishes and few whiteheads. For more stubborn blemishes, I just dab on a concealer. I can use it without pre-applying moisturiser and it blends into the skin very easily and yet not have my skin flake or feel dry at all.

I'm so pale that it's really hard for me to find a foundation that doesn't make me look too orange. This stuff works for me in Level 1. The coverage is very, very light, so if you need more coverage look elsewhere. I've tried a lot of light foundations and tinted moisturizers and this may be the one with the lightest coverage. That's what I was looking for, though, so I love it. It just evens everything out a bit and anything that needs more help I use concealer on.
