Gorgeous! Tanzanite is a mid-tone jewel purple with shimmer. I probably would not have reached for this color myself, but the SA at Space NK added a bit to my existing eye makeup, and it really complemented my dark brown eyes and the other shadows I was wearing, so I decided to give it a go. (For reference, the other colors I was wearing were Chanel Safari all over the lid, Chanel Taupe Grise in the crease, lower lashline and outer corner, and Chanel Lotus on the browbone.)

Tanzanite looks great as a crease color when paired with a lighter shade, used wet or dry as a liner, or all over the lid for a smokey eye. Overall, love this shade and am really happy that I decided to get it.

I just received Tanzanite as part of the Olivia palette. I wish I could say I love it as much as everyone else seems to, but I cannot. I have written many reviews for Chantecaille eyeshadows, the majority of which I love, but I don't feel such fondness for Tanzanite. To be fair, the color is gorgeous, a luminous, deep amethyst, and the quality, blendability, and staying power (without creasing) are typical of this brand--excellent. I do love purple eyeshadows, but I like them to be muted with either grey or brown, so it seems I prefer Chantecaille's less colorful colors.

I rarely wear eyeliner, so it seems like an awfully huge pan to keep around for just that purpose, though it does make a pretty liner color when applied with a damp angle brush or using Paula Dorf's Transformer. Once in a while I layer it over Zinc or Granite, but on its own, it's too deep a purple for my very fair pink-porcelain skin and blue-grey-green eyes. It just isn't versatile enough for me to keep it in my #1 palette that I reach for every day, so into the swap box it goes.

This is one of the best purples ever! It literally looks like the gemstone it is named after. It is a deep violet purple with shimmer that is wonderfully versatile. Works great as a liner and is my staple for doing a purple smokey eye as the color is deep enough for intensity but has a bright gem like clarity as well.

$24 for an e/s is a little steep for me but I really love this shimmer deep purple. It's great wet or dry as a liner, and good for smoky eyes. I sometimes put it in my crease but it's pretty dark and densly pigmented, so be careful to use very little if you do that. It's also a little harder to blend in the crease because it's so pigmented.

Beautiful, as an eyeliner used
wet, or in your lid crease dry.
I always use Chantecaille eye shadows and blushes in the case
to keep them from breaking.

Oh How I love this shadow. Just like review below me (waiving Hi to Stacey) said, it's a perfect match with MAC Prunella. I use Myrrh (also from Chantecaille) all over my lid as wash then I use Tanzanite in outer corners and smoke them out. I line my eyes with Prunella top and bottom and lightly go over with shadow to seal the color. Brings out tons of green in my Hazel eyes. I have to say this is my fave combo for Plum look.

Tanzanite is from the Shine collection, very soft with delicate sparkle plum.
