I hate writing bad reviews but this one is a must. Such a waste of money when my hopes were so high. I don't have problem skin or scars to hide and this still looked so bad. Way too chalky and does not last at all. Will never buy again that is for sure. Many other better products out there for the same amount or cheaper that will do a much better job. Just my opinion.

This makeup is amazing. It is designed to cover surgery scars, so most times the coverage is great, and I always get compliments on my skin. It really adds a nice glow. The downside is that the packaging is annoying, although easy for travel, I think it allows for wasted product. Another downside, but I think this applies across the board for loose mineral makeup, I find it doesn't really 'stick' to my skin if there isn't enough humidity in the air. Nevertheless, I have not used a better overall product.

I actually have dry skin that becomes patchy without correct hydration. When I first used this makeup I tried the loose. I have to say it applied smoothly and did not look cakey at all. I think someone mentioned, it's all about the right brush and i definitely agree. These kinds of foundations can be over applied quickly. I also love the pigment, you wouldn't believe the look it gives you. It looks as though you are wearing liquid. I also love the bronzer, a little goes a loooong way. So, yea it is expensive, but you end up using less so it amounts to about the same as buying drugstore, except this is actually good for your skin.

Well. First; If you don't have oily skin, this is a AMAZING foundation-powder!!! It covers well, it's easy to apply, it's great for the skin, it looks naturel. But my shiny/oily skin gets too oily with youngblood. :-( So sad. Really wish I could wear it.

EDIT: I'm now on acne pills treatment which dries out my skin, and now I can use youngblood <3 weee! Only bad thing is that it rubs off on my phone, but i love it anyway

This foundation is beautiful, natural and so easy to apply! I am normally a loyal user of Estee Lauder Double wear but I find it doesn’t look as nice in the winter months. I was originally introduced to Youngblood at a make-up evening. I was really surprised to see mineral make up cover like a liquid foundation! Youngblood definitely needs a moisturizer prior to application. It just helps It go on smoothly and make your skin glow! The only complaint I have about this product is for me on my nose it goes shiny by 12. Not a huge deal. It just needs a sweep of product but can be annoying on a night out. I do recommend this foundation if you want full coverage and a natural look. It’s a great mineral foundation because it doesn’t look too powdery. I can’t say I am one hundred per cent converted but I am loving this product at the moment!

I just can't begin to describe how bad this is! I paid so much for this foundation and couldn't even get a single days use out of it. In fact, I had to remove it and put on another foundation! I followed my usual skincare regime prior to using this, so I know that I hadn't done anything different to get the terrible result I obtained with this. I am also a regular user of mineral powder foundation as they are my staple foundation item. I also did not change my primer which is La Roche Posay Anthelios sunscreen which I applied about 10 minutes prior to applying my Youngblood foundation. All of my other mineral powder foundations have worked really well with this sunscreen as it sets matte and is a good makeup base. To apply this I used the Nude by Nature kabuki brush which I use to apply all of my mineral powder makeup. I knew I was in trouble when the area directly between the eyebrows looked liked someone had thrown the powder at me. I always as little powder as possible, so to get the powder settling on top of my skin like this was very disconcerting and I could not brush it in. The rest of my face did not look much better. The makeup is meant to be used as a concealer as well as a foundation, but it made my eye area look dreadful. Every tiny flaw was magnified and the whole effect was cakey. I did not realise that I had pores until I used this foundation! No amount of buffing with my kabuki brush could get that powder right! I started to feel a bit angry that I had spent so much money on a product that made me look such a mess. I immediately got my cleanser out and washed the entire mess off. I will never use it again.

I bought this in a trial kit. It came with 2 foundation powders, 1 rice mineral setting powder, blush, and a bonus hi-def setting powder. And a kabuki came with it. I will try to focus on the foundation for this review. At first glance, I thought that everything looked quite small and it wouldn't last past a week. But I opened everything up and dumped out a small amount of foundation in the lid. I used the kabuki and was very disappointed by the amount of hair that the brush was shedding. So, I switched to my Jane Iredale Handi brush (buffer brush) and it worked fine. I worked it onto my skin in circular motions. At first, I found it did look powdery and heavy. But after minutes, it absorbed into my skin as if it had melted. The color looks natural and creamy. However, I noticed I do have to touch up with the rice powder throughout the day. It does not absorb oil as well as I'd hoped. It does not crease or rub off on clothes which I like. It ends up looking almost like liquid foundation. I also like that it allows for buldable coverage. I do give it 2 thumbs up on coverage. So, all in all I will sum it up for you:
PROS: good coverage, buildable coverage, takes less than liquid, it is light, buffs into skin very nicely, even color that lasts, don't need to use much, doesn't rub off, doesn't sink into lines or pores, covers and doesn't flare up rosacea
CONS: doesn't absorb oil, contains bismuth ( this may cause acne and outbreaks), bit pricey, need to touch up with setting powder throughout the day,

About me.. I have combination acne prone skin.
I find All youngblood products excellent. I have been definitely seen improvement in my skin since using Youngblood Mineral Makeup, I have used all the top brands such as Estee Lauder, Lancome, Clarins, Clinique... in the past and whilst I did like the finish I prefer this. For 2 reasons, it doesn't clog your pores so your skin improves and you will definitely see improvement! And 2 you don't get make up foundation lines from not blending properly and you still get excellent coverage, Seriously persevere with it, because at first I didn't feel it provided enough coverage but when my skin improved I didn't need as heavy coverage as I had before. Of course its not a miracle but its one of the things that helps. I highly recommend trying this out to any more trying to improve their skin.

I have very sensitive acne-prone skin; Youngblood has been one of very few foundations that doesn't cause breakouts or irritation for me. I love the finish it gives, matte and slightly velvet-y. I use a brush to apply it and the dab the provided sponge with extra product over any blemishes. I use MAC fix+ after application to make it dewy and last all day. I get compliments on my skin when I wear it! It is worth the money.

Pros: Not tested on animals, non-acnegenic, no gross additives

Cons: Expensive!

I am in love with Youngblood! I have been using this product for about 3 years now. It is amazing. I have very sensitive skin and I cannot use liquids or pressed powders because I break out so badly. I used to use Bare Minerals, which worked fine with my skin causing no breakouts but I felt that the shades in Bare Minerals were limited so I could never find the perfect shade for me, it was always either too dark or too light. With Youngblood, I find that not only do I get my perfect shade (coffee) but it sits smoothly and more beautifully on your face than BareMinerals. Since I've started using Youngblood, I've gotten so many compliments on how beautiful my complexion and skin look. It looks very natural, looks like you have no make up on and it photographs wonderfully too. You don't look greasy or shiney in pictures. Also, a little goes a long way. I usually have this product for about 9 - 10 months before I finish it and I use it about 5 - 6 days a week.

I LOVE Youngblood Mineral Foundation. At first I was really hesitant about the coverage of mineral powder foundations. I always thought of powder as a setting mechanism rather than a coverage. I have fair-medium toned skin and am in my last month of treatment of Roaccutane due to acne. I looked into Youngblood as I knew the mineral nature of it wouldn't clog my pores & I did not want to have to go back onto Roaccutane once I came off. Whilst all my acne is gone, I've been left with red pigmentation that is VERY hard to cover. Youngblood can do it though!! It does it without looking cakey or sliding off through the day. I think this kind of foundation comes down to how you apply it. I had my beauty therapist teach me the technique and I use it with the proper Youngblood Kabuki brush. It is amazing. I swear by it. It builds up to a full coverage and you never have the line along your jaw like you do with liquid makeups. I highly recommend it to everyone, but get taught how to use it so that you aren't disappointed.

This review is for the Youngblood Pressed Mineral Foundation. This foundation was such a disappointment to me. I was really expecting it to be great. When I put this on, I was like, are you kidding me? It gave NO coverage whatsoever, it looked like a chalky mess on my face, certainly didn't make my skin look better, it looks better without this foundation on. I was so disappointed. The color was a good match, I used Barely Beige, and the compact is cute... but what does any of that matter since the foundation was awful! I never used drug store makeup, but this is what I would imagine it to be like!

Like many others, I first loved this product SO much, (the texture is superb, the grains feel so smooth) that I bought extras to take with me when I moved to Japan, never thinking that I would wind up hating it and furiously trying to finish up what's left of my stock.

YB, at first glance, does a great job in only certain climates, and only with smoothing base makeup and all those great products out there that promise to make your skin a smooth canvas (but as I've found out, these base products ALSO make your skin break-out). I also later realized that the color does this weird chameleon thing where somedays it's far too white, and somedays it just looks orangey. I've resorted to mixing with other colors just to get it right but I honestly don't like having to do a science experiment every single day just to get the color balance right... YB also doesn't have much staying power, over long workdays it tends to get blotchy and settle in patches --- not something that you can fix with pressed powder cos it just makes it look worse.

All things considered, I started using mineral makeup hoping my skin would stay clear, but over time I've realized that maybe the hype isn't quite all that. Pass!

UPDATE: I've now laid off mineral makeup for five days and my skin is almost completely blemish free. I know mineral makeup is supposed to improve your skin but I'm guessing that mineral makeup doesn't work for everyone.

This makes skin look great. Skin looks healthy and it looks so natural. I know people wouldnt have a hard time finding the right shade for them.

I put 4 stars though because it leaves me shiny just after a few hours. If only the finish would stay the same after you've applied it, then this would have been perfect.

I have used the pressed form and I can say that it easily runs out (also because I had to do several retouches during the day).

There are better powders out there.

Actually this is the foundation that I am using right now. However, I am desperately looking for a new alternative! At first I really liked the result. It had a perfect color match for me and it covered well using the 168 brush from MAC (I think I got the number right, it's the white blush brush). However, as time has passed I am starting to have bad makeup days with this. I look extremely oily after a few hours which does not give me a flawless result and it makes it hard to use a blush that stays on. I can't touch my face without accidently removing the makeup and leaving naked spots. Some days it looks like a mask on me (ghostly though the color matches) and some days it is hard to blend, especially if my daily moisturizer has a hydrating consistency. It is also starting to set into my pores and I notice fine lines around my eyes which is not normal for me so the eye area is a NO GO! I definately have to apply this in day light and with a light hand to avoid all this! Sometimes I manage to do that. What really bothers me with most loose powder foundations is that it is really messy and dusty! I can't travel with it because the powder is literally all over when I open it afterwards and this makes it SOOOO hard to control the amount of powder on my brush. I will NOT repurchase this again.

I used this product for over 2 years, but I always found that it didn't provide enough coverage if I had a blemish, and it didn't last throughout the day. Recently, I spent some time in a very wintery climate and my skin became very dry. This product looked horrible on my dry skin - it seemed to sit on the skin and not buff in properly. I am going to try BE and see how it compares.

I was using this product after it was recommended to me by a skin specialist. While it is easy to put on, it did settle into my fine lines and pores. It felt a bit itchy once I applied it, and it seemed to rub off quite easily. It did keep my skin clear (I have acne prone skin), and like I said, was nice and easy to apply, but I didn't like the way it looked on - a bit cakey and pasty. It also became shiny and melted off during the day. I live in a hot and humid climate, so a foundation that can stay matte is important to me!

Overall, I think I will go back to normal make up again.

OK ladies listen up !!!! I am a makeup artist that uses Youngblood Loose foundation and I have been reading all the comments the good and the bad. For all the negative feedback the same issue keeps comming up and thats the look or the wear of the foundation. To me these are all application issues and not product issues. Has any one of you heard of the mineral Rice setting powder? This will make your loose wear sooo much longer, help minimize the pores, and prevent the foundation from going ashy or to dark when used before and after foundation. As far as the shine, Im sorry but you must not have used to many mineral lines. I have put this foundation on too many people who have used other lines and 100% of the time they all prefer Youngblood over their current mineral. It has far less shimmer then other brands out there.

I am seeing more and more makeup artist and talent I have been working on turn to Youngblood for their makeup because its good and it lasts. Now I also understand that not everyone can wear this product , but before you try this be sure you know how to properly apply it.

I give kudos to the company for its range of shades. A lot of mineral foundations only come in three or four and that is not nearly enough to have one for any match. I find the coverage is good and that I can use the same shade as a concealer for hyperpigmentation before applying it overall to my face.
