I have always been very reluctant about moisturisers although I know how important they are. Before discovering ecological compound, I almost gave up on moisturisers altogether because they all made me break out heavily and kept my face horribly oily. This product is really good, it even helps diminishing breakouts.
EDIT: realised that it is crucial for a moisturiser to contain SPF. This one doesn't and as a result, I accumulated acne scarring and dark spots on my face.

I have been using this lotion for a while now. I live in a very dry place and it's already summer time, but this lotion just can't give me enough hydration. When I use it at night, my face feels tight 30 minutes after I have applied this lotion. I tried once to use it as a serum under a very light-weight lotion, then my husband said my face was very sticky. Now I use it as a day lotion on days that I don't do makeup. Still, my face feels tight after one hour but on the other hand, when I touch my face, I feel that my face is sticky. Anyway, it doesn't really work for me and I will not repurchase it for sure.

During a shopping rampage I decided to buy this -now I know- overhyped moisturizer.
It is an uberexpensive average moisturizer: does nothing a drugstore one canīt do.
Btw, I received a lot of Sisley samples and sincerely I donīt understand why it is SO expensive: average products, awful smell.

Sisley Ecological compound is a great product. Honestly when I first approached the Sisley counter for foundation and the SA was trying to sell me this product I was really hesitant, but she did a mini facial on me and used this before the foundation and I looked radiant. So I bought it, and still when I got home I wasn't sure I wanted to keep this so I used the sample that she had given me to make sure it doesn't break me out before opening the full size bottle. After 2 weeks of use I can say that I love this product. It is great for oily combination skins like myself that are really prone to breakouts. This product is a dream. I currently use Cle de Peau products and I have to use like 4 different bottles for my skin. However it's still a little on the dry side but it does combat my breakouts so I deal with the slight dryness especially during winter time. Enter Sisley Ecological compound and I now only have to wash my face tone and moisturize with this and I'm good to go. It leaves my skin soft, supple, well moisturized and quite radiant! No grease effect either. I noticed that my uneven skin tone is starting to look a lot better as well. My blemishes are starting to diminish faster as well as the breakout from my last period. The price is quite steep! However compared to the price of how many different bottle of Cle de Peau that I have to use to get the same effect it's a deal. To give you an idea of what I spend price wise with Cle de Peau....
Cle de Peau foaming face wash $63
Cle de Peau Balancing Lotion (toner) $100
Cle de Peau Anti Age Spot Serum $155
Cle de Peau Refreshing Protective Emulsion spf 20 (day cream) $130
Cle de Peau Nourishing Emulsion (night cream) $150
Cle de Peau La Creme (Night cream used every other night) $525
Cle de Peau Intensive Eye cream $250
That totals $1373 before tax
Sisley Ecologicial Compound $245 before tax. Using just this with my foaming face wash and balancing lotion is all I really need for my skin everyday. I only wish I had found this product sooner! It would've saved me so much money! Did I mention that my pores look more refined and my acne scarring is looking less noticable as well! Cle de peau left my pore kinda enlarged and did nothing for my acne scarring.

A pretty nice, light emulsion but very expensive at the same time. It is an OK product but with this price tag, I would have expected a lot more.

This is a great emulsion, absorbs quickly and creates a lovely smooth canvas. Makes my skin feel healthy and supple, a small amount goes a long way :-)

I agree with many MUAers that this is greasy and sort of a heavy emulsion. For this reason alone I use it only at night before my moisturizer. I was going to ditch this product because of the reasons mentioned above plus it makes me sweat (especially on my nose, upper lip area, and my forehead/temple area) like crazy during these hot summer months BUT I've noticed a huge improvement in my skin since I started using this product. I tried using this during the day with All Day All Year but it was just too heavy and too much layering for the summer months, so now I just use this emulsion in the evening. My skin is more supple, softer and smoother upon using this emulsion so I will repurchase this even though it costs $270 for a 125ml (which isn't bad considering the size of the product). I also love the smell of this product and its packaging. This is a keeper for me. BTW I'm normal/combination skin - oilier in the summer months but drier in the winter months. EDIT (Aug 2011): I reduced the lippies to 3 because even though I love the concept, what it does for rmy skin, and the smell of this product, I cannot stand the fact that it makes me look like a greaseball and it makes me feel like its suffocating my skin/pores. I find that this product is just another extra step and layer on my skin. I prefer La Mer cream as it does the same thing i.e. gives the same results without the extra step. Will use this up during the winter months but will not repurchase.

I tried this product for first time a while ago and it made my skin break out. Recently was given a sample of it and am not sure what happened, but I really liked it. Maybe they have changed formulation? I have found that it is not easy to have a product that is light but still hydrating...this does the trick.

Yuck! This product made my skin so oily and gross, nothing sank in to 'moisturize' my skin and just sat on top of it being greasy! It was nothing the Sisley salesperson claimed it to be. Thank goodness I only had it in sample size because I am not touching this product again with a ten-foot pole. You may be better off using nothing.

I have been using this lotion for years. I use it after my toner and before All Day All Year every day, and I never needed to apply foundation for work. The lotion is lightweight and makes the skin feel very comfortable after cleansing. Sisley says this product is supposed to help my skin absorb subsequent lotion/cream. I have never used this alone, but pairing with All Day All Year, the combination always leaves my skin oil-free and soft throughout the day. My lazy husband uses this lotion by itself after his morning shaves.

This cream is way too rich for my skin. I'm 25 years old and have combination skin. I broke out excessively after using this cream for a week. I think I wasted $130+ but this is a lesson well-learned. I switched from La Mer to this product, and I'm committed to La Mer for the rest of my life. But I must thank Sisley for letting me know that La Mer is the perfect moisturizer for me and nothing else.

Never again. My skin broke out the following day and took quite a while to clear up thereafter. I tried it again after a decent break just to check that something else was not to blame. It wasn't. More pimples. Ok the cream smells delicioius and has a lovely texture but that doen't really cut it now does it?

Apart from the heavy price tag...I really like all Sisley products, especially this one. The texture is really nice...light and glides on easily. It's mainly for combination skin..although I feel it can make my t-zone a little oily if I apply too much in that area. I usually start putting it on my cheeks and then lightly over the oil prone areas. I have been using this product for years, and I'm too scared to move to anything else. I highly recommend this product as I believe a good moisturiser is essential to your skin care regeim

I feel smell is no good, but moistured my skin.
The smell is like a cream of grandmum's. (I'm not sure she used france products.)

I just started using EC recently,Texture is quite thick but is moisturizing,i started to have small breakout probably my skin is not adapting well to the product..Even I use SKII,I also have this problem but seriously after using EC,my skin really feel soft..I live in a country with no 4 season,is either humid or raining weather here so sometimes my skin might get pretty oily,EC doesn't control shine..Skin feel matte after application..AR...doubt so..but i will still continue using it..

The women in our family have been using this product for a while, and it turns out quite well. However when i want to start using EC, the sisley lady told me that EC is not suitable for my oily skin (prone to acne also), because the ingredients are just "too" nutritious for me. She recommend me to use restorative facial cream with shea butter ... and my skin is getting better n better. thx to the kind-hearted sisley lady :)

Before coming to Amsterdam, I lived in Indonesia for two years and I have never had to use a moisturiser ever! I was always indoors and exposed to air-conditioning but my skin was at my best and I only had a small spot just before that time of the month. When I first arrived in Amsterdam I had no idea that I had to change my skincare regime, my skin felt so dry and I had break outs on my forehead, cheeks and elsewhere!
So I decided to use a moisturiser from Garnier that my cousin gave me and that didn't work.
I changed to L'occitane and used the Almond Apple Velvet Concentrate and I still broke out and felt my skin getting a little bit too oily.
So I went for a consult in Kiehls and they gave me a Sodium PCA "Oil-Free" Moisturizer because I have an oily T-Zone etc. I used that for 2 weeks and a bit and my face felt so dry and my skin got even worse, I was having super break outs!!
I went to the Sisley counter after browsing through their website and the beauty advisor had a look at my face and told me that "actually you don't have an oily skin, you have quite an impure skin that is normal but needs a good moisturizing" So she gave me a sample of this ecological compound and I don't know if it's all in my head whatever but I've noticed the difference in 3 days, my skin is softer, hydrated and one of my acne scars faded a little and one acne spot calmed down and wasn't so red anymore.
So I just bought the 125mL bottle today, apparently it will last me for six months but who knows?! All I really want is to have the confidence to walk out of the house without having to wear any foundation at all! I want my old skin back, will keep you posted after 2 months!
Well it definitely has been more than 2 months! I posted my first review on the 5th of Jan! Now on the 13th of March well my skin is definitely smoother and softer but now and then I still break out. Atm I'm trying to deal with my acne scars it's all over my forehead, I've been using Sisley's reparatrice but I guess it's a slow progress and perhaps I will never get rid of these scars. My friends and boyf see the difference in my face and about the no-foundation thing... well because of the acne scars if I have important meetings ie. a job interview/date I really have to use a foundation and I've started using Bare Minerals Make-Up so far so good. I'm really happy with Sisley though, I think I'm going to keep using EC supplemented with scar-removing products or something... Any suggestions?

I had used this product some times ago. Well, apart from its very nice scent and creamy texture, i dont find it special at all. my skin feels so greasy minutes after i applied it, fortunately it did not cause me any breakout. Just another mediocre product from Sisley. i liked the fact that the bottle could last several months though.
