First of all, it does smell like Dimetapp and is bright purple. I also had a hard time finding it for purchase. No one seems to carry it. I finally ordered it from Amazon because of the decent reviews for its color-protection properties. I also bought the companion dish. Bottom line- just okay.
The smell doesn't really bother me because I love grape. But boy, if you dislike grape stay far away from this stuff. The smell is strong! I don't notice it lingering in my hair for too long though...usually any residual smell is gone after an hour or two. It's just okay as a poo. I don't think my hair faded at all, so that was good and served the purpose of the product. But I didn't feel like the texture, shininess, or dryness improved at all. I think there are probably better products that will provide color protection and still restore health to your hair. I just haven't found my HG yet. I'm still looking ;) Probably would not repurchase. So far, WEN is the best product I've tried for color preservation and added health benefits to my hair.

I color my hair a burgundy brown and have really hard water, as soon as water hits my hair the color begins to wash out down the drain. I was leary about trying this shampoo because of every shampoo stripping my hair and leaving it dry and fly away but my friend gave some of hers to me and I felt bad not trying it, I'm so pleased to say I love it! It leaves my hair super shiny, not weighed down or coated and it does not strip the color or dry my hair out. It lathers like Tide on steriods so I water it down before using (1/3 shampoo to 2/3 water) and its easy to rinse out. I like the smell, I know others have said its to strong but it reminds me of grape Kool aid. I will purchase this when my bottel runs out. Good stuff!

This is my HG shampoo (and conditioner) , I love it!! My hairdresser recommended it as I have highlighted hair and heat style pretty much everyday. I also have a very sensitive scalp. This shampoo smells amazing and the smell stays all day. It leaves my hair so soft, shiny and feeling so clean. It doesn't irritate my scalp at all. I will never go back to d/s products!!

LOVE this shampoo! A little goes a LOOOONG way. I am always on the lookout for the best S&C, and since I have used the Oatmeal and Honey S&C from the Tigi line, I thought I'd give this a try, because I have colored hair. A little bit of shampoo lathers enough to wash yours and a friends hair, so I think it's very cost effective. The conditioner is great too, rinses clean but leaves hair very soft and manageable. Some on here have mentioned how pricey it is, but in comparison to other high-end shampoos (Like Pureology, which in my opinion is WAY overpriced, and doesn't work), it's really not- especially since you only need to use a little bit to get the job done! It seems people either love or hate the grape scent, but I guess I wish EVERYTHING smelled like grape bubblegum! What's not to like? Will DEFINITELY repurchase- But not for a long time, because I don't see it disappearing quickly... Give it a try if you need a boost and some shine and to better manage color treated hair for not a lot of money. Loves it :D !

This is my favorite shampoo. I love the smell on my hair and it last really well. I have long thick hair and its dry too. This last a long time as you dont need very much i buy it in litres and it last me approx 6 months. I always use it with the conditioner and have used many of the cheaper brands but always go back to this one. I find its really good to take away on holiday too as it helps when the sun drysit out even more.

This shampoo is surprisingly moisturizing and has been a saviour during winter months when my hair can get a tad dry. I always return to this shampoo during the winter. My hair feels light and full of volume. I love the creamy consistency and it foams well. Only gripe is the smell- not unpleasant but I wish it wasn't so bubblegum-like. I don't have dyed hair but I still love this shampoo.

Been using this product for about 3 weeks now, and I'm not impressed. My stylist swears by TIGI products. This is the 3rd TIGI product I have tried, and so far no luck with any of them. I honestly think $4 Pantene works better than this stuff. I also find the grape kool-aid smell a little over-powering. IMO not worth the money at all!

I love this stuff... It's thick and creamy and foams like a mother... A quarter sized amount and it's like my washing machine exploded mid-cycle, which I love, whether or not it's got anything to do with how well it cleans, which this does without stripping my hair (which is currently short, messy on top, David Beckham-y, I'm a dude, and highlighted blonde) of moisture or color... The smell is super artificial but super yummy, to me it smells like blueberry muffin batter made from mix out of a box...

This works just okay for me only. you need to use the conditioner or your hair will just feel dry. Does seem to contribute to my hair colours lasting - couple different colours on my head.
But I like the shampoo cos the way it smells. It smells so nice, a good treat in the shower in the morning when you're trying your hardest to wake up!
Also I like the fact that the shampoo doesn't irritate my scalp like the way a lot of other shampoo brands do.
On account of the smell and the fact that it doesn't give me scalp problems, i'd use it again. but I would have expected more from TIGI. And likely to drop it if i can find something that suits my scalp without damaging my hair colour, AND make my colour shine.

Why people love Tigi products so much, I have no idea. I've tried 3 of their shampoos and each one left my hair feeling frizzy, tangled, and dry. I have a friend who absolutely loves their products. She uses Brunette Goddess and Superstar...well, I should have known because her hair looks like a wig it is so dry! I did give it two stars though because it smells heavenly and I did get nice volume.

I'm disappointed by TiGi again. I wasn't impressed with Sexed Up shampoo & conditioner but decided to give the brand another go. Wish I hadn't! I was looking for a colour safe range that would also be volumising and I must admit after the first couple of uses that is what I got and I was happy to think that I hadn't wasted money again. However after a couple of days my scalp was itchy and my hair very dry and flyaway. Not what any girl wants (especially when this wasn't a problem before)!! They smell good in the bottle fresh and fruity (supposed to be grape I think) but on my hair it was too strong and lasts for ever. The design of the bottle is good and great in the shower and I wish more manufacturers would catch on to this but overall I will not be buying anymore TiGi products again! Not what you would want from a salon range. Yuck!

This shampoo dries out my hair and makes it really flat and fly-away. My hair also feels extremely dirty the next day and my scalp itches. Not sure what it does for color either. Even Head & Shoulders works better than this! Save your money.

I like this product. I've not used it very long, but it makes my hair shiny and soft, and it stays clean for about two days. I really like that I dont have to use as much product to get the job done. This 350ml bottle will last me quite a while.
I just LOVE the grape scent too. My hair feels, looks and smells fresh, just the way I want it to!

This has to be the most faoming shampoo i have ever used, and i normally need to use a lot. Don't know what it does for colour, but then not sure how I'd judge any shampoo on that. East to use bottle, seems to be doing a good job.

This was not a great product. I used it in conjunction with the conditioner and they both made my hair way too light and frizzy. The bottles are also quite hard to squeeze anything out of them. The smell is okay: not as bad as some smells, kind of grapey, bubblegum-y. I wasn't a large fan of it though as I prefer more old-fashioned smells, like Kerastase.
Instead of trying this set, I recommend the TiGi Brunette/Blonde range, or the John Frieda range, which is cheaper. Kerastase Bain Satin 1 remains my #1 though.

I use Tigi hairspray and really like it, so when I saw a great sale on this at Ricky's I got really excited. After using this product and the conditioner for a month, however, I totally understand why it's on sale. The smell really is fantastic, and that's the only reason it's getting a slightly higher rating. I have chin length, fine, color treated hair that is oily. Somehow, this managed to completely dry out my hair and make my ends look tragic. I feel totally guilty not using the rest of it, because the bottles are so big...but I can't anymore. These products have made my hair depressing. I even tried using double the amount of product to see if I could eke out any moisture. Didn't work. Don't buy it. This is awful, but makes my bathroom smell nice.

I've previously used the Manipulator TiGi Bedhead shampoo + conditioner on my uncoloured hair and I had a good experience with it. I've got a lot of colour in my hair now and was using Kerastase shampoo for coloured hair (great product but at $35 for the shampoo alone it was getting pricey). I thought I was being clever by buying the big pump of TiGi Fashionista shampoo AND conditioner. I like to wash my hair almost every day as I have oily hair and I exercise a lot. This shampoo makes my scalp feel ridiculously itchy at the end of the day considering I've only just washed it that morning!! So because my hair feels unclean I don't like this product and won't purchase again. So disappointed.. I've barely made a dent in the pump bottles. Also I disliked the candy smell.

At first I really loved this shampoo. It really made my hair feel nice and the smell, oh, the smell is to die for: Welch's grape soda, we don't have that here in Germany.
BUT, after a while using it, my hair felt dull and...blah. Upon checking the list, I found out that TiGi uses lots of silicones in their products. Not a keeper. I have the big bottle version of this shampoo and although I am tempted to let it go down the drain, I decided to keep it for shaving my legs. I switched to my trusted Phyto shampoos and treatments again.
I wanted to like this, but no avail. Sorry Tigi.
