I'm sad this was discontinued. I don't have blonde hair (far from it!) but the citrus oils really cleansed and balanced my oily hair. The Blonde was a perfect choice for people who have greasy hair, although it wasn't marketed that way. I'm hoping it will be reborn as a retro product.

So sad this is discontinued. I have one small piece left and I am rationing it out very carefully! I have blonde highlights and this does a super job keeping them bright and shiny, not brassy. I looked back at a photo of myself when I was using this + American Cream daily, and wow my hair has never been so shiny and healthy looking. I did not use this the way most people do. I slice a small amount and put it into a recycled black pot with some hot water, then put the lid on. I did this at night so that when I took my morning shower, it was a creamy consistency like a regular shampoo. (I made about a week's worth in one little black pot.) It never smelled "off" so I continued using it this way. It has a chamomile scent, not overpowering at all - I am prone to headaches from a lot of scents but not this. Bring it back Lush! :)

LUSH has discontinued this shampoo. I wanted to replace it but couldn't. I'm surprised that others had negative experiences with this shampoo.

I bought this hoping it would brighten my naturally strawberry blonde hair. It DID! I used it a couple of days in a row and it definitely brought out the color. I only bought a small sample, and had been using it a couple of days a week. It lasted so long that when I went back to buy more, they told me it had been discontinued.

They suggested I buy I Love Juicy, because it would be similar. While it smells good and clarifies my hair, it doesn't do anything for the color like this shampoo did.

I hope LUSH brings it back soon!

I found this to be one of the worst shampoos I have ever tried. I really wanted to love this product. I have medium/thick naturally blonde hair. I wanted to looooove this product but couldn't convince myself. I bought a 16 dollar piece which was a good sized piece (it's 71 dollars/lb.) and I cut it into little squares. I found I had to rub the shampoo bar all over my head multiple times before I thought I had enough on my hair to clean it. Then it created the worst tangles from all the rubbing. I even tried a different application method where I just kind of pat it on in one direction to reduce the tangles that the rubbing made. Still I had tangles like no one's business. I felt it stripped my hair, and left it feeling unhealthy. Maybe it was just my hair type and my water type. Not going to buy again.

I was recommended this to use to take a break now and then from Soak'n'Float, which I use for my scalp psoriasis, and I have to say I'm really underwhelmed. It's so gentle, it may as well be baby shampoo - I have normal hair, not particularly greasy or dry, but this just did not make my hair feel clean, no matter how much I rinsed. I can't speak for it's effect on blond hair, as I haven't been blond since I was about 5 years old. On the plus side, a bar lasts forever, and there is no packaging waste.

I have fine hair which I dye blonde. I am prone to an oily scalp. My hair is long so the ends can get a little neglected. The Blonde solid shampoo handles all my little hair quirks nicely, although do use a good conditioner for your ends because this one is not the most moisturising. But boy, does it clean my scalp! Yet it seems to do so with loving care :-) I love the rich creamy lather from this. I love the smell too - it has a soft citrusy fragrance. I really don't see much difference in the colour of my hair - the chamomile in it is supposed to help make you blonder but for me, the jury is out on that one. 5 lippies.

My #1 tip is buy a slatted wooden soap dish to store this on between uses. (Ikea has a nice one). You don't want it sitting in a puddle because it won't last as long. Another tip to make it last - slice a small chunk off your bar to use and wrap up the rest in its original paper and store in a cool, dry place. :-)

This was the first solid shampoo I have tried, and I was very impressed! It lathers very well and the scent of this is one of my favorite scents by Lush, I almost would buy some just to smell it! It smells like chamomile tea mixed with sunshine. :) I used this on my naturally ash blonde hair and it really does what it claims; gave amazing highlights and also great texture to my fine, straight hair. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the John Frieda Sheer Blonde line; this works just as well if not better but is cruelty free and environmentally friendly!

This is a great solid shampoo - it made my hair shiny and definitely brightened it, plus the packaging is cute and the scent's nice. I've since gone back to using products for chemically treated hair, which are most moisturising. But I think it would be a great shampoo for naturally blonde hair.

I love this shampoo! It has a great smell and texture. It does leave my hair very dry though. I am not sure if it works to make my hair more blonde or not; I havent noticed any difference.

This is my FAVORITE Lush shampoo. It took me a while to get used to the idea of a shampoo that doesn't come in a bottle. And, honestly, this one has a strange kind of squishy texture... but don't let that deter you. I just wet my hair and rub the bar over my head for about four or five swipes. It has an invigorating lemon scent and lathers fabulously. This makes my hair seem brighter and shinier and I love it. I'm already on my third bar this year (and that's a lot of washes. These last me about 2-3 months each)

Awesome !!!! I work at LUSH and hadn't tried it until a regular (and fellow MUA'er) recommended it.. never thought of it because I have brown hair. But it's amaaaaazing.

The scent is beautiful, leaves hair soft and shiny and light... and no packaging - so amazing for travel. Will be buying more and more and more :)

WOW! BEST SHAMPOO EVER, it lightened my hair, and made my (over-processed hair) baby soft. It's back to when it was so soft I couldn't even put it in a ponytail(it will just slip right off my hair)... it has made my roots soooo soft. I really was wary of these all natural no preservative shampoo bars... I would only use salon stuff previously. Seriously... try this, you can get them to cut you a small amount.. it is completely worth it. My hair is gradually lightening, but especially the whole texture of my hair is dramatically different for the better. just wow:)

I like this product' smell and texture, as to whether it works or not, its hard to tell. I haven't really noticed any significant lightening effects. Its a pretty pricey product too. Its also very drying.

I am addicted to this product. It has changed my hair and makes it more bouncy and shiny than it has ever been. If you don't like the packaging you should get over it, because it is a solid shampoo and that is how it comes. I cut it in little pieces and keep it in a tin and rub the tiny piece in my hand to make a lather and then put it in my hair and it works like a charm. It also does lighten your hair quite a bit which is nice because then I don't have to worry about my roots showing through as often. Seriously, any color hair can use this! And for the amoutn of time it lasts the price is extremely reasonable.

I just got a sample of this from a friend that I made here on MUA. I tried it for the first time tonight, and I LOVE it! I have hair that is approximately 6 inches past my shoulders, wavy-curly, super thick, but ultra fine, that tends to be frizzy if I'm not super careful how I treat it, dry ends, very oily scalp that is easily irritated. It's naturally blonde, but darkened as I've gotten older, so now more of a medium leaning towards dark blonde if I don't get any sun, or a medium with light highlights if I get a lot of sun. I haven't gotten any sun in a while though, so it was on the dark side before I washed it with The Blonde. Now, after only the first wash, it's nearly 2 shades lighter with really amazing highlights! It also added some volume to my crown, where I tend to go flat because of the weight of my hair combined with the oily scalp problem. I did have to use a conditioner afterwards, but I do with every shampoo anyway, so that is not a negative in my opinion. I kind of sectioned my hair in the shower and swiped the bar back and forth a couple of times... once across the hairline at the back of my neck, once at the crown and kind of drew a line around the rest of my hairline. That gave me a ton of thick and foamy lather. I left it on while I shaved my legs (about 3-4 minutes) and rinsed with warm water, then conditioned and rinsed with cool water. My hair felt healthier afterwards, and definitely looked healthier. Curls/waves were more defined, less overall frizz, and way more body and bounce. This also seems to have eliminated a lot of the itchiness I normally have on my scalp. I also tried it on my face, and it seems to have gotten rid of the itchiness I tend to get around my nose... maybe from the chamomile. My hair normally pulls some red when I lighten it, unless I use a blue/violet based dye, but this didn't give me any problems in that area. It lightened it two-ish shades but left my natural tone completely in tact. I will definitely be buying a bar to lighten a few more shades and keeping it as a staple to brighten when needed. I wouldn't use it every day, as I think I'd have white hair after a month, but it's perfect for weekly or bi-weekly treatments once you've achieved the lightness you're happy with. My sample was approximately 1 inch in diameter, and I think I could get 10 washes out of it easily. GREAT stuff!

I'm trying to get my unwanted dark brown colour out of my light brown hair at the moment, and this is one of any shampoos I've tried in the process. Firstly, I do not have any idea how ANYONE has managed to use this without making a mess of it by the end! I have probably about enough for 5 days worth of the product and it has degenerated to a nice-smelling sludge which I keep in a plastic bag. That said, while my very sensitive skin is sometimes dried out a bit by my washing it out, The Blonde cleans my hair very thoroughly, and my hair looks healthier that it has been in a very long time. It smells good and for all the trouble it takes to get a lump of it out of a slurry-filled bag, cleaning your hair with it is very simple once you get past that. Maybe I should have been cutting a bit off of the bar BEFORE my shower, rather than reaching for it with wet hand while I'm in there. Didn't think of that. Get around the problems with the form of it and it's pretty damn good.

I really like this shampoo!I have ash blond hair, very fair in summer, a little dull in winter, and this stuff does give it nice shine and light!my complaint is the fact that it doesn't lather wonderfully, you have to really rub it on the hair and scalp.
It smells lovely and rinses out very nicely. The price is a little more expensive than I'd like, however the bar I bought was 100grams and I bought it in july, I'm still using it today..it really lasts long.
I have repurchased and will in the future!
