I knew about the smell issue going in, but looked past it and found that the cleanser was gentle on my extremely sensitive skin, if you keep it away from the eye area. I asked my 22-yr old son if he had tried it. "Yeah, it smells like vomit". I hadn't said a word about the reviews. He added, "Maybe that 's why it works. Vomit contains acid and acid clears the skin. There's vomit in there, Mom."

This takes off eye makeup with such ease and efficiency---yet it's very gentle on the eye area. I have combo/acne prone skin, so my skin regimen requires a bit more pimple-fighting power than this facial cleanser can provide---but I'm lovin it as makeup remover.

I got this at the BBW 75 percent off sale, and really wanted to love it. But the reviewer who said it smells like vomit is right on the money. The smell is so bad that it turns my stomach. That said, it is a gentle cleanser that rinses clean without stripping. I just can't get past this vomit smell. Yuck!

I like most Molton Brown products, especially the shower/bath gels and eye creams... but this was nothing special. Just an average face wash.

I got this for 50% off at the BBW sale and I have to say I like it. I consider myself kind of a connoisseur when it comes to gel cleansers, as I have oily skin that gets REALLY oily in humidity. This cleanser is a light gel that foams up a little bit. The pump bottle is much better than a squeeze tube, and there is basically no fragrance, just a little soapy scent. Probably just the natural scent of the product - they didn't cover it up with something else, which is just as well as some fragrance can be irritating to skin. My skin doesn't feel dry after this, just clean and soft. I've been using this in my morning shower, so I can't comment on its makeup-dissolving abilities. Overall, this is effective, convenient, and does the job.

This is my HG cleanser. I have combination skin and rosaca. Since I've been using this cleanser, my roseaca pimples have completely cleared. It hasn't gotten rid of my red, but it's made my complexion just about flawless in every other aspect. My massage therapist recently remarked that I had the most naturally clear complexion she'd ever seen ... and she's seen thousands ... and I'm over 50! Love love love this stuff.

This is a gel-like cleanser that comes in a pump bottle. It removes most of my make-up, but not all of it. It leaves my skin supple and not tight & stripped. The scent is different - smells more like a sweet detergent - not what you'd expect in a facial cleanser. On the whole - average.

It's ok. Doesn't dry out my skin...Didn't like the smell though. That's a big problem for something that's going on my face. I'll pass.

First, with the good points: I've tried similar gel cleansers to this one (ie. YonKa Gel Nettoyant, Astara Botanical Cleansing Gelee) - has a wonderful "slip" to it, so you don't have to use much to cover the entire face, and this removes makeup fairly well (except for eye makeup). The difference I find with this cleanser is that it doesn't dry out my skin afterwards, even though it foams slightly. Now the bad: the scent of Molton Brown cleansers are "odd" - I don't believe the cleansers are supposed to be fragranced with anything....but this one has a very strange cloying sweetish scent that reminds me of vomit - very slight though...and thank goodness it doesn't linger after washing the product off. I hope that it's just not me...has anyone else found this to be the case? Anyway, if it wasn't for that, I'd give this a stellar rating....it really is the best gel cleanser that I've ever tried. I'd purchase again...I don't mind breathing through my mouth when I cleanse with this :-)

I have combo/oily skin and I love this cleaser. It leaves my skin feeling clean and soft without that "squeeky clean feeling" where your hand won't slip down your face.

I don't find the scent very strong at all and I couldn't explain what it does smell like but it's definately a good smell when I catch it.

Since I started using this product my complexion has dramatically improved. Although I did have a transition period where my skin was getting used to the product and had a few slight break outs but that could have been due to stress as well.

Overall: great cleanser, great (although light) smell, great for combo/oily skin.

I have found my favorite facial cleanser!! This is great!! This extremely refreshing facial wash leaves my skin super soft, clear, supple, and glowing! The smell is amazing and you only need a few little pumps and it lathers like a dream! I was previously using La Prairi Foaming Cleanser, but this is much better!! Even my husband commented on how nice my skin looks!! I highly recommend!
