Beautiful! Smells like quality, nothing artificial here. A sophisticated gourmand. Warm, sweet, spiced honey goodness with orange blossom stirred in. Yum!

Love it. I received this as a sample from Luckyscent. Definitely suited for gorgeous , chilly fall evenings by the fire with a hot cup of hard cider . This must be what honey smells like in heaven.

Honey is a difficult note for me. Depending on body chemistry or temperature, it can be smelling great and then BAM - sour urine odor. Botrytis tempers the sweet acidity of honey with what smells like vanilla, tobacco and incense. I say "what smells like" because the official notes list contains honey, candied fruits, quince, pain d’epice and white flowers. My nose is either making up notes, or there are several that aren't listed. All I know is that this combination never goes sour on my skin. It stays warm and smooth, but honey is always the most prominent note. It's one of my favorite cool weather fragrances. I also think it has great lasting power for an eau de toilette.

Botrytis is such a seductive scent. I wear it mostly for myself, but men seem to find it intoxicating. It goes through a number of stages, warmed honey, fine cigar humidor, lush semi-sweet wine... not for everyone, certainly... but if you're looking for a super fragrance for fall/winter, this one is fantastic. The dry-down is like velvet.

Oh how I miss my Escada Collection. I've been searching for a replacement, with little hopes of finding one. I'd read about Ginestet Botrytis being similar, so -- with trepidation -- I ordered a vial from Lucky Scents.

Oh my. At first, when I sprayed this, I thought, "Ew, too sweet." But after about 10 minutes, when it started to dry down, I was elated, because on me, this smells almost exactly the way Escada Collection did. I ordered a full bottle from Lucky Scents tonight. Cannot wait.

Of course, I love sweet perfume, and mostly, it smells good on me with my skin chemistry. I could see where people who liked clean, summery scents would be turned off by this, but I can't wait to get my bottle in the mail. Amazing.

Oh how I love my beloved Botrytis! I bought the large bottle from luckyscent a few years ago and I fell instantly in love. I only like to wear this in the fall/winter...smells out of place in the spring/summer months. Every time I would wear this luscious perfume to work, coworkers would stop by my desk just to smell me : ) It has wonderful notes, of honey, candied fruits and I forget what else. To me, it smells mostly of honey, tobacco, candied fruits and a little vanilla. Lasts ALL day. I really can not say enough good things about it!! Highly recommend!

I purchased samples from LuckyScent (edt) and found this to be beautiful but absolutely no lasting power. This fragrance is too expensive not to last. It's good for 2-3 hours. I have to agree with another reviewer after a while the dry down becomes pure incense. I would consider buying this if it were in a edp and had longer lasting power.

One of my all time fragrances for fall/winter. Botrytis and Chergui are HG for me for the colder months. Well worth the price. It's nothing like Lea, Frapin, or any other scent that has been mentioned in these reviews. {At least not to me.} Advice for all fragrances, always sample for yourself first.

I so wanted to like this, but the notes did not soften on me, and the scent lingered at work in a bad way. I felt a little like a jar of potpourri walking around.

I like this one quite a bit which is understandable since I tend to really like amber fragrances. It has sweetness to it that agrees with me tinged with a bit of floral. This is not a smokey amber scent, not really any aggressive masculinity to it which if was present could make this fragrance even sexier. Even so, I can still see a man being able to wear this scent. Alas, I don't think it's really original and for the price ($110) not really worth purchasing. I own B&BW Sensual Amber which smells enough like this (not as sweet though but that can be achieved by fragrance layering) that costs 1/4th the price.

Great vintage dessert sauternes from Chateau d’Yquem - yummm! My idea of what wine tasted like, before I grew up and realized one was expected to develop a palate for the dry stuff. The first sniff of this made me happy, it’s redolent of the good life - sweet, rich, winy, spicy, warm sunny days with bees buzzing and, if there’s work to do, surely someone else can do it. After a bit my protestant work ethic thought that perhaps it was a bit too much - too sweet, too rich, too lazy. But as I went about my day - which was one of those days I wish I’d chosen a life as a weird bearded geezer living in a cave - I kept getting sniffs of Botrytis, and it was still making me very happy. It kept me from biting people, and that is good.

Botrytis is simply every fall in my childhood in a bottle. My grandparents had a huge vineyard long time ago and I helped them in every phase of wine making while playing with my sister under the autumn sun and eating my grandmom's cakes.
Botrytis brings back so much memories that sometimes I hardly can wear it. As others described, it's a very very sweet honey-wine scent. I don't know how it's called in English the wine which is made from overripe, sun-dried, almost parched grape but Botrytis captures the aroma of this special wine perfectly.
And yes, this is very similar to Escada Collection, but I like it more because of the sophisticated, realistic aura that's created by the scent and the beautiful bottle.

If I could swim in this stuff I would! For someone who up to now has heartily disliked honey fragrances and run from 'gourmands' I'm amazed to find how much I love this fragrance.

My husband and I both wear it and find it incredibly gorgeous on each of us though our chemistries accent different notes.

It works any time of year, but wearing it on a cold wintry night before the fire is gonna be perfection.

Great staying power, beautiful bottle, I'm in love.

A very beautiful fragrance with amazing staying power for something "gourmand". They got it right when they compared the smell to honey. Ooohh yeeah..a true honey scent! I also detect a bit of a wine smell yet not at all "boozy". And the dry down.... amazing. This is not overly sugar..i would say this is a grown up foody scent. I can't imagine a younger teen liking this stuff at all. Definately for a more mature nose because of the complexity of the notes. This is one of those fragrances i can see being someones "signature" because it is simply unforgettable. Will stay in my collection*

This is truly beautiful. I am beginning to feel that I am doomed to fall in love with the worlds most expensive fragrances! I ordered this sample from Luckyscent and couldn't wait to try it on. It even smells gorgeous in the sample vial, but once on, it was love at first scent. The honey is so intoxicating that it's almost dizzying, but then the chocolate arrives and dances with the honey leaving you with a fragrance that is truly unforgettable. The honey is intensely delectable and decadent. The addition of chocolate puts you right over the edge, but make no mistake, the rich and dreamy honey is what rules this beauty. A gourmand dream come to life in pure, sweet elegance. Interestingly enough, this is somewhat reminiscent of Escada's Collection, however this is infinitely more lovely with more honey and less of a sharpness that makes this more wearable for even the most sensitive noses. The perfume itself even looks like pure golden honey. Absolutely gorgeous!

Although I like this scent, I somehow don't reach for it often. On hot days the sweet honeyed amber notes can be a bit too much, and in colder weather the perfume doesn't seem to develop properly. I do occasionally wear it in fall and when it works, it works wonders. On those days I get mulled cider with lots of apple and cinnamon, warm ambery notes, tobacco and vanilla.

Gorgeous scent, beautiful bottle and such romantic presentation – the whole thing is like a dream! This has me completely addicted! I love honey and this is the ultimate, golden honey scent. There is a wonderful similarity here with Escada Collection and Venezia, both discontinued and nearly impossible to find, but who cares really - that is as long as Botrytis IS available and continues to be. Botrytis is like the alter-ego to Miel de Bois. In fact, this is that "golden tressed fairy of the meadows with flowers in her hair and honey on her lips" I spoke of in my review of Miel de Bois. FBW and back up bottle or two as well!

I LOVE this fragrance. It is the first full bottle that I have bought in several years. It isn't just honey; I went to the honey bottle to confirm it. I then tried a wrist-by-wrist comparison with Frapin '1270". Frapin has woods, but Botrytis has better lasting powder. The former was gone in a couple of hours at most, where as Botrytis was still there. It is such a comforting scent then when I cannot get to sleep, it can actually help.

a deep, warm spicy honey with hints of cherry pipe tobacco and excellent lasting power. Makes me think of a cozy personal library with a fire, dark wooden bookcases and someone wearing a velvet smoking jacket with feet up on a comfy chair, smoking a pipe! This becomes too cloying in hot weather but I love it in the fall.
