This has been my signature for a small forever (possibly going on 10 years, makes you feel old), but I'm thinking of switching things up a bit.

I've always used the EDT, so perhaps EDP would be better, but here are my experiences about the EDT:

It's a nice, youthful, classy floral that makes me feel just the tiniest bit more feminine and beautiful when stepping outside. However, the EDT's scent wears off embarrassingly quickly, so you're in a dilemma - do you spray on too much and risk giving other people more scent wafting around you than anybody would like, or do you use the usual amount and then just consign to not having the scent on you for longer than 4 hours or so? It's a dilemma. I do love a small spritz of it on my scarves and the like.

I'm starting to think I would personally like a new scent that's just as classy as this one, but has a bit more kick, a lot more staying power, and perhaps more exoticism. I would, however, recommend this to people who want a youthful scent that is floral but isn't too sweet.

I have had this one forever. It is a lovely cloud of soft floral goodness when I am in the mood for a spring time scent. I do agree it is slightly atypical of Guelain yet I adore it and will always have a bottle on standby.

For Guerlain this is a rather uninteresting fragrance. Its feminine and summery, sweet and a little lemony at first. There really is nothing horrible about it, its rather pleasing. But when you expect so much from a perfumery like Guerlain you almost want to forgot you knew about.

This is my signature fragrance. That statement, stated right at the very beginning of yet another amorous letter to my beloved. I will get poetic on you here. You have been warned.

I read in another review here that Luca Turin called this fragrance a disgrace to the house of Guerlain. Well, someone needs to tell Mr. Turin that writing about perfume is like dancing about architecture. Any fragrance aficionado can scream the glorious complexities of Chanel No. 5, Shalimar, and Fracas until they are blue in the face (which they have, and just won't STOP ALREADY), but while No. 5 has it's place in my life, I don't generally care for those "classics". I don't like aldehydes (exception: Arpege, by Lanvin), generally don't enjoy chypres, and hate feeling like I'm being smashed in the face with a bouquet of gardenias for eight hours (I AM TALKING TO YOU, JEAN PATOU). Many agree with me, and that's why fragrances aren't made like those anymore, okay? Get over it.

I'll agree with reviewers who described CE's opening as "sharp". Yes, it's quite like having a debutante shrouded in 50 yards of pink organza bounce into the room and start squealing. Oh yes, there's that synthetic floral blast that once made my co-workers exclaim, "What smells like shampoo?" But, wait. She'll mature into a sexy 30ish woman in a LBD in about an hour. I should note that I started wearing CE when I WAS that debutante (about 19 years old), and it always smelled like the woman I wanted to be: poised, adventurous, cosmopolitan, intelligent and articulate. The flowers shrink down to non-Alice-In-Wonderland size and the almond surrounds them in a delicate haze. To me, CE smells its most glorious when nurtured by my own body heat after a leisurely nap, when I wake up to find that sophisticated lady is still there, perhaps reading Proust as I dream.

Smells okay, but it is identical to Black Lace by (the dreaded) Dana, of which I bought a 2.0 ounce bottle for $2 at Big Lots a few months ago. So to me, it smells cheap. Granted, Black Lace disappears quickly, and this has some staying power. I wish I had found this first so I could be wowed by the inexpensive dupe that Black Lace is! LOL. But since I didn't, I can't wear this without feeling like I'm wearing bargain-bin drugstore cheap stuff. 12/31/2011 EDIT: I just realized Disney's Rapunzel eau de toilette that my daughter got for Christmas also smells like Champs Elysees. Bummer...I so wanted CE to smell expensive like others have said. :(

This is the most comfortable, comforting, and understated floral I've ever tried. It is light, feminine, and clean without being "fresh." It reminds me of flowers and champagne. Were it not for the sensual, musky connotation of the term "skin scent" I would describe it that way because it seems to melt into my skin with a close sillage. A wonderful daytime fragrance.

I wear 5 scents and this has become my fav. It is a light spring or summer scent but it still smells expensive. Not at all overpowering, I have been using this all spring and summer and I usually wear Light Blue but this one has taken over.

Love this! I've worn Shalimar for years but wanted to try something lighter for spring and summer. I actually ordered this online without testing, based on reviews here and how pretty the bottle looked (hoping for the best since I don't have good luck with many florals). I got lucky--CE smells delightful on me! It starts floral, like lilacs and lavender, then changes to a mellow, light but creamy, almond-vanilla. Sweet and pretty.

This is a nice daytime scent. Mimosa, rose, almond, and forest fruits are followed by melon and exotic fruits. Nice sweet fruity flora scent.

This was one of the first high-end fragrances I bought. Well, at that time I was young... An extra-ordinary flower scent (flower scents have mostly something common) which lasts long.

Do I like flowers-weeeell not quite...not in perfumes...
and combination of mimosa and rose is when I first thought of it- quite unbereable combo..
but...
this is the most sparkly result of amourouse rose,mimosa,almonds and bergamot...it is a spring sun in a bottle...
love the bubbly,flowery rose scent that is everything but banal and boring...this is a gorgeous flower perfume that leaves you wondering why you love it so much....and you aren't even a flowery perfume- person...

I love this fragrance. The scent is sophisticated and sexy, not one would expect from a floral fragrance.

Guerlain fragrances are the best among the best. I don't mind paying extra for this perfume, w/c is quite hard to find, as I got this as a last piece from a high-end department store in Singapore.

I have this in EDT, and the dry-down lasts for the whole day. Definitely worth the purchase.

I LOVE Guerlain perfumes - Mitsouko (especially Mitsouko), Jicky, Shalimar, Samsara - they're all so sophisticated and exotic. However I'm only 16. I feel so childish and stupid wearing them. So one day I happened to find this. All the sophistication and complexity of a Guerlain perfume, but.. lighter. I wear this every day. It's beautiful. It's slightly sweet for my taste, but a gentle floral note settles more on my skin. It's probably the most youthful perfume Guerlain sells. My ability to identify notes in perfumes is terrible. In this I pick up florals (lily? roses? no idea..) and berries. Maybe sandalwood? There's something holding the floral/fruit down, something woodsy/musky/earthy that I can't quite place. But whatever it is it keeps this from turning into something nauseatingly sweet like Miss Dior Cherie. The most prominent note though would be the floral. At least on myself.

One of my all time favourites. To me Champs Elysees really epitomizes the idea of mood-lifting perfume - chic, feminine, playful, sweet and refreshing, sensual and delicate at the same time. I find it a very romantic fruity-floral with random staying power in both EDT and EDP versions: sometimes it barely lasts a couple of hours, other times I can feel it on my clothes days after applying it.When first sprayed it may seem sharp and mono-dimensional but the drydown is a dreamlike blend of almond, lilac, rose and mimosa which I find simply addictive.Champs-Elysees is one of those perfumes which just get better by the hour, taking their time to reveal their beautiful,many-layered composition.The most proeminent note appears to be mimosa,which can be detected in all stages as it magically envelops you with its ethereal aroma, redolent of soft petals surrounded by dewy, green leaves.
I don't believe that Champs-Elysees is less worthy of admiration than other Guerlain creations simply because it's different, just like I don't believe in obviously biased fragrance experts recommending people what to wear, since perfumes are such a personal, subjective choice and have the ability to stir great passions...Having a special perfume is somehow like a love affair, you can't have somebody else tell you whom you should love and why they are worthy of your love. If you love someone you just do. I find it so funny when some fragrances are being dismissed as tasteless simply because they're not vintage, chypre or niche... Personally I don't find it hard at all to like fragrances from different olfactive groups and I try to be open-minded when trying out new ones, as there is so much yet to be discovered...

It continually amazes me how this product continues to stay on the market.

It is a sharp floral, which gets a bit of a urinous note on me. Very cheap smelling for any perfume, and an atrocity for Guerlain.

My first review! And the reason I'm reviewing this frag is that I've just discovered another combination of two frags that creates a third and more amazing scent. Here it is: Champs Elysees and Chanel Coco (not Mademoiselle, but classic Coco). I had sprayed Coco earlier and then about an hour later, Champs, and what I smelled was better than either! I don't know how it happens, but Coco's spiciness (not quite sweet) and Champs' sharpish floral combine to net something light, spicy, sweet (but not too), and stunning!


***edit*** OK, now that my nose knows more, Champs E is still a very nice bubbly floral. In fact, it's related to Chanel Beige, but you can get it with shoppers Optimum points, so even better eh?

After reading so many wonderful reviews here about this perfume I decided to seek it out in the stores. I was at my local discounter and found an open box of CE so I spritzed a little on. The initial blast was wreaked of 'bathroom spray' to and I decided not to purchase. About 5 hours later, I caught a whiff of something fresh, clean and beautiful and I was shocked to discover that the CE had completely transformed in the drydown! Perfumes: The Guide gave this perfume a horrible review … stating it was a disgrace to the Guerlain house. It makes me wonder if they had the same experience I did, initially? I may have to wait 5 hours but the drydown of CE is beautiful, addictive and the most uplifting fragrance I own!
