My fellow stinky ladies, I'm afraid to say that this is yet another disappointing purchase waiting to, well, disappoint you. It's expensive, it has aluminum in it which is what buyers of natural deodorant usually want to avoid, and it flat out friggin didn't work. Maybe I got a crappy old tube of this junk but I don't think so because it was ok at first texture wise. However after just a few days it dried out even with the lid constantly on. It turned into a sweaty pit anxiety inducing trauma (ok so I exaggerate a bit, but it was hella annoying) trying to scrape enough of this junk onto my pits waiting for my body heat to melt it so I could apply a thin useless layer.
So it didn't stop my stanky lady pits from sweating but ok, it's natural, maybe it's supposed to suck at that but keep me smelling lovely and fool everyone into thinking I'm a classy stink free broad, which is of course what all deodorants do because we class ladies don't sweat, we glisten, and we surely don't stink. Sarcasm alert.
But no. I gave it an honest week and a half or so of diligent denial-filled effort and after the trial period, it was so crappy and became so dried out I threw this hot mess of a deodorant which doesn't deodorize into the trash. I kept perfume on my so i could spray it onto my pits because sure enough a few hours into the day the ol familiar shameful pungent BO smell wafted up to greet me. Stupid stanky armpits, how I loathe you so.
So yeah, this garbage was a true new low for me. I'll usually keep something that doesn't work just to spite it and delude myself into thinking I didn't waste money after all or give it away if hygienic to do so. But no, I wanted this crap in in a tube outta my life and it was sweet justice disposing of this junk.
By now you're thinking dear lord, this cynical lady hated this junk, and she has nothin better to do than write lengthy reviews about deodorants she hates. Well yeah, I retort. But I know that my fellow classy ladies out there do sweat and sometimes even stink a bit and they deserve to be warned. So in summary: don't waste your money. Go buy yourself something off Etsy like I did that's hand made and works well.

There is only one reason why i use deodorant...so i wont smell bad. This product works.
It doesnt go smooth on your skin though but it does work. I bought this because i was trying to use something that wouldnt contain all the controversial parabens and aluminum and i was not disappointed.
I bought this one because is also unscented so it doesnt mix with my parfum.
it is a little more expensive than most deodorants but totally affordable and is also 2.25 OZ (64 g) so i think it is an excellent purchase.
Would buy again? ABSOLUTELY!

I truly hated this product. I am generally a natural-deo user, but when I saw this "naturally dry" addition to the toms line I decided to be bad and buy it even though I could clearly see it contains a great deal of aluminum. I thought, hey, it's still gotta be better than Dove, right? Well I'm not sure health-wise but as far as effectiveness, this stuff SUCKS. It was a no-better-than-average antiperspirant I guess, as far as odor control, this was HORRIBLE. I swear it made me smell worse than I've ever smelled before; I am not generally a stinky person but I reeked of B.O. all day the one day I wore this. And another real downer I noted - this stuff is like impossible to wash off. It took a lot of scrubbing, and if you're on the "natural" train with stuff other than deodorant, let me warn you there is no way you will get all the residue out of your armpits at the end of the day without an SLS based shower gel. Nope.
Major fail toms of maine. Truly the worst pit product I've tried.

Okay so this is an antiperspirant which is more natural than the rest but I hate it. It's so dry! Applying it isn't pleasant because it doesn't go on smooth. It's mediocre at reducing sweating. But the worst part is trying to wash it off! Unless you have a loofa, soap just won't dissolve it!

This review is for the new Tom's of Maine Naturally Dry antiperspirant deodorant.
I sweat A LOT (just my luck to inherit this trait from my mom!) and of course I have body odor like everyone else; not worse than average but I still don't like to smell it on myself. I also have very sensitive skin and cannot wear antiperspirant deodorant from most traditional brands.
I have been using the regular Tom's natural deodorant in apricot scent for years. It was the only thing I'd found that didn't irritate the skin under my arms. It smells nice but didn't really help with my sweating, of course, and I'd have body odor after a few hours.
So when I found this new kind from Tom's at the store, I snapped it up. First of all, it is kind of difficult to apply. It's sort of sticky and tugs at the skin, doesn't glide on easily at all. But, once it's on, IT WORKS. Seriously. My underarms sweat MUCH less than before, and after a full day of cleaning my apartment on a hot summer day, I can barely smell any body odor on my t-shirt. It's incredible!
Conclusion: I freaking LOVE this stuff! Winner!

I have the crystal roll-on deodorant in Garden Rose and absolutely adore it. In a quest to eliminate as many synthetic skin care products from my bathroom as possible, I tried MANY different natural deodorants.
The Tom's solid did absolutely nothing for me, which was the case with every other natural brand's solid deodorant.
I picked up the roll-on while at the factory store in Kennebunk and am so glad I did!
One thing to note: the packaging will leak a bit if you are traveling with it. I just make sure to put mine in a plastic bag.

I gave two stars being that this is natural and does not contain Aluminum Chlorohydrate. But other than that, it did not deliver! I tried several versions of it including the Long-Lasting one, and had slimy wet underarms all day. Gross! And what's worse, I smelled!! I have not had any issue like that since I went through puberty. Oye! I now use organic deodorant from JASON Natural Cosmetics and it is awesome! Needless to say, I will not buy this one again.

I love the idea behind natural products, and really wanted to like this - my cousin recommended the product as it is aluminum-free. But.... nope, didn't work, I was stinky in about 3 hours. This in itself was very surprising as I don't perspire a lot in general, a little dab of any other deodorant usually works fine for me and lasts all day. Will try other natural ranges.

I'm switching to products that do not participate in animal testing. This did not keep me dry or stop the odor after only a few hours of applying.

I cannot wear any products containing aluminium (that's the British spelling!) as it makes my skin burn, itch and then fall off - this combined with the awful fact that I sweat a lot when nervous, stressed, and even slightly warm means I'm desperate to find an aluminium-free deodorant that actually works.
I bought two different Tom's stick deodorants and was disappointed with both of them. They feel good on application but as soon as I'm on the Tube (the London Underground) I'm all hot and can feel my armpits wetting through my clothes and throughout the day I was conscious that I didn't smell fresh or even better not at all.
Maybe if you don't perspire much then Tom's is good but for me it was not much better than using nothing at all.

I have Tom's of Maine in Apricot scent. I scent of this product smells nice. The only thing is the product worn alone will not last on me. It may last for half a day. However, if worn in conjunction with power it will last through out my work day and work outs. I will still use it until I finish it but I may switch to a different roll on or deodorant that still organic.

I have used Secret Platnium religiously for several years and lately have found it NOT working at all. I switched to Tom's to take a break from Secret thinking maybe i had become immune and hoping Tom's would have different stuff in it. It has worked just fine for the past week in the Alabama heat. Havn't heard anything about it being discontinued- bought it at a health food store, pricey but they had four different scents. Went NEXT DOOR to RITE AID where they had 8! scents and it was about a dollar and a half cheaper. Oh well. Good stuff.

This deodorant was nice smelling and went on nicely, and I paid a much higher price for it as well, but after a few hours my underarms stunk, which is not a usual thing for me at all. I do not sweat a lot so was very surprised.

I wanted to post this because I know there is concern about Tom's of Maine being bought out by Colgate-Palmoliv,e and whether they will now become involved in animal testing. This can be found directly on the Tom's of Maine website under "Press Room":
Colgate-Palmolive Company. We will keep a minority ownership in Tom’s of Maine, and are looking forward to continuing as CEO and Vice President to ensure long-term sustainability. The agreement we have worked out succeeds in preserving the character, spirit, and values of our company as we grow.
What does this new partnership mean for you? You will continue to be able to rely on our tried and true Natural Care products based on our model of stewardship and sustainability. We will continue to make products without artificial preservatives, sweeteners, or dyes and without animal testing or animal ingredients. It will probably become easier for you to find more of our products in a variety of stores. You will still write or call us here in Kennebunk, Maine and we will still be called Tom’s of Maine. We will continue our Common Good Partnerships, and to give 10% of what we earn to community efforts, and to support 5% of employee time for volunteering.

This anti-perspirant is the best one for me because it isn't harsh at all and it really works well. My pits are sensitive to a lot of anti-perspirants so I'm kind of limited to certain ones. Tom's is very gentle and has a clean, pleasant smell and feels very refreshing when u put it on. It also keeps me dry all day. The only problem is it's kind of hard to find in drugstores. I go to a health food store to get it and it's a little pricier but def. worth it.

I loved this product, until it started disappearing from the shelves. And now that Colgate-Palmolive has bought them out, I won't be buying anything from TOM since I can't support businesses that test on animals (c'mon people, it's 2006!!). In any case, it was good while it lasted.

I am so sad that Tom's discontinued this product, because I love it. It's a very good deodorant AND anti-perspirant. Natural anti-perspirants are almost impossible to find, so I love this product. As soon as I heard they were discontinuing it, I stocked up on 4 bottles, but eventually I'll run out and then it's back to my search for a good cruelty-free anti-perspirant. :(

I'm not sure if this is for Tom's of Maine deodorants or their discontinued anti-perspirant, but I'm reviewing on the discontinued anti-perspirant. I was looking for a natural anti-perspirant and saw that Tom's of Maine had one. I found it at a health food store and it was about $8. It worked fine for awhile but it took long to dry and was kinda sticky.

I've been using this for over 5 years as my winter and low intensity days deodorant. I love the smell and how it doesn't make your pits feel weird the next day. Sure, don't run a marathon while wearing this and expect to smell like a daisy, but then again... it's creepy when deodorants work TOO well.

This is not the best deo that I have tried. I like the fact that it is natural, but this natural deodorant irritated my underarms so much, I actually had to go see a dermatologist to get some prescription-strength creams (I got hydrocortizone cream, commonly used for eczema) because nome of the OTC treatments would help. Definitely will not repurchase. Smells great though.
