This is a lovely cleansing lotion!
Very gentle and soothing on the skin, cleans well and it's very easy to remove, which is a big plus for me. It is fragrance free but it smells lightly of almonds. It's not stripping or irritating and my combination-dry skin loves it. I use a different cleanser to take off make-up, but this one works perfectly well if I've only used some tinted moisturiser.
I've been using it for a month twice a day and I still have some left but it's only 75ml, Weleda should probably consider making bigger sizes.
The packaging is not very user-friendly but I respect that the company maintains these aluminium tubes instead of plastic ones. I also value that the ingredients are natural and respect the environment. I bought mine for around 5€ here in Europe. It's a really great deal if you can get it for around this price. I plan on repurchasing.

Well to start off, I love Weleda. The quality of their products is great and I feel like I'm making a sustainable choice for myself and the environment -just not my wallet. This little bottle ran me $16 and will last three weeks tops. Folks, that's a LOT of money. I love what it does, how clean and soft it makes my skin feel, and how yummy and soothing it is. I use oil (usually coconut, jojoba, or sweet almond) to take my makeup off and blot with a tissue. I then use a dab of this on a cotton ball (maybe the size of a blueberry) to get the excess oil and anything else off. It really works, I see blackheads and gunk in it every time that I'm sure never came out with my old soap and water routine. At the end, I use a cotton ball with Bragg's and water to tone and smooth my face. I love this product and it works well for my super sensitive skin, but it is just so pricey. I don't know what to do :(

This really doesn't do the job as far as makeup removal is concerned. It hardly gets anything off and does not touch eye makeup at all. I am a fan of creamy/ milky cleansers and currently my two favorites are DHC's Cleansing Milk and the Body Shop's Vitamin E Cleansing Cream, which both remove makeup, rinse well and leave skin moisturized. While Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion smells delicious, it simply does not remove makeup, yet somehow leaves my skin feeling a bit squeaky after I rinse - maybe it's the alcohol? I won't repurchase.

This is my HG cleanser. I have combination-dry skin which at one point was very dry due to a change in clothing detergent that it turns out I was allergic to. Sleeping on pillowcases completely screwed my face up and I went on a frantic search for new cleanser and moisturizer. I came across reviews for Weleda almond cleansing lotion and gave it a try and haven't looked back. I use this cleansing lotion almost every day, although in the summer sometimes it can be a bit too moisturizing, so I switch it out for cleanser samples I get from Sephora or Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Daily Gentle Cleanser. I've purchased this three times now and absolutely love that it is paraben free!

I'm finally happy with my bone-dry and highly reactive skin, or maybe it's finally happy with me. Either way, the Weleda almond products have done what no other skincare line has done for me, whether it's a cult French label or another 'botanical' company. The Cleansing Lotion takes away all sunscreen, grit and makeup and leaves my skin feeling very clean but basically already moisturized. I do use the cream from the same line to ensure that I don't get dry, and hopefully I will never have to have flaky, sad spinster skin again!

I really enjoy using this product. I should mention my skin type. I have dry skin-- it can get especially dry in the winter. Also, my skin is very sensitive and I break out easily from many products (including products that are supposed to be fine for sensitive skin, such as Cetaphil).
This product has not broken me out and it makes an excellent cleanser. Note that this is NOT supposed to be a make-up remover. It is a cleanser and it does a great job at that. I like to use it in the morning to cleanse my face from remaining cream or oil that I put on at night. It leaves my face feeling clean. It doesn't leave a "tight" feeling like some cleansers leave.
I also like that the ingredient list is short. This is great for someone who breaks out easily. The ingredients are:
Water, sweet almond oil, glyceryl stearate se, alcohol, prunus domestic seed oil, zanthan gum, lactic acid

A very nice cleanser, with simple ingredients. I'm break-out prone, but this does not seem to bother my skin. In fact, I look more even-toned and less oily. I combine this with the Almond cream. The only con is a) the price and b) I hate the metal packaging, it always gets dents in it toward the end and product squirts out all over the place. A minor quibble. I am contemplating buying this again, but there are other cleansers I want to try.

I'm in love with Weleda Soothing Almond Cleansing Lotion. It is so moisturizing on my soft, dry skin that I don't always need to moisturize after using it, which is darn near a miracle! I had used Estee Lauder Tender Creme Cleanser for years, but wanted a more natural product. However, nearly every cleanser I tried was too drying on my skin. I am so glad I found this product (thanks to another MUA member!) I actually smile more after using this product because the skin on my face is so much more supple! I found that in combination with the Weleda Almond Lotion it reduces wrinkles, too. It has a great score on EWG, I'm so pleased.

My skin is combination but gets drier in the winter and super sensitive. I was trying a bunch of different and new natural products trying to find a good cleanser. I was suggested this one and I love it! I don't know how well it removes make up as I've only used it for the last 3 days but I do know that it calmed down all the redness and inflammation on my face! My skin had never been so bad and I think it got out of control because I kept trying new products. This is odd to use because I'm so used to foaming cleaners but it does rinse off rather nicely. It has kept my skin nice and soft without that awkward film of cream cleansers. I'd definitely recommend to anyone especially if you have combo/dry skin and are super sensitive. I'm not sure how long it'll last but it is a rather small tube, a little goes a long way. It was about $23 CAD, I've spent way more than that on cleansers.

UPDATE: Still loving this. Got my clarisonic since my first review which I use with this and it removes ALL my make up. I love using it in the morning to cleanse because it leaves my skin feeling so soft. Highly recommend!

ONE MORE UPDATE: 02/27/12: just purchased my second tube and loveeee it so much. ONly thing that I hate is the tube it comes in, it's an old school style antibiotic tin tube that breaks when you roll it down to get the product out. I feel like I wasted so much of it. Trying to figure out how to get the most of the product.

I like this product as a very gentle morning cleanser, to keep redness and flakiness at bay for makeup application. I have sensitive dry skin, and am prone to redness on the cheeks. This product is unscented, does not irritate my skin, and contains few ingredients (good rating on EWG's Skin Deep website). At night, I prefer using something else to wash off makeup and dirt.

This was a nice, gentle cleanser, but it was a bit too gentle. It was great at taking my makeup off (like some women, I don't rely on cleanser alone to take my makeup off, so that was a nice surprise), but it didn't really help breakouts or anything. This would be a great cleanser for girls just starting out with skincare, or those lucky ladies out there with next to perfect skin. For me, a person with not so perfect skin (good, not perfect), I don't think I'll be using this again.

Don't like it at all. It does take off non waterproof mascara but that is about it. Leaves a weird film on my skin too. The smell is nothing to write home about either. However it is gentle and does not aggravate my sensitive skin so if you don't wear make up at all and are looking for a friendly cleanser then, no I would still try others first!

I was going through a period of trying to only use natural products on my skin and hair, so bought this cleanser, along with the toner and moisturiser in the same line.

I used the cleanser to only cleanse after removing makeup. It seemed gentle and had a nice almondy smell (rather like almond essence that you bake with) but it did nothing to my skin. I don't have any major skin issues but after using the whole almond line for two months my skin was quite dry and clogged up, especially my nose- I have neve seen it like that- even as a teenager!! My cheeks were quite dehydrated and would get very hot at times because they were thirsty and angry.I work in some very heavy duty air conditioning (archives) with zero-humidity and not many skin care products can live up to my expectations of skin comfort. Sometimes it felt like the products didn't allow the skin to 'shed' normally- I often felt there was a lot of dead skin sitting on my face- even after exfoliation. After going back to Dermalogica my skin was much happier.

I'm unsure whether natural products live up to their hype- do you use them because they work or because they simply make you feel good and virtuous? I like the idea of all- natural but at the end of the day the Weleda Almond Range simply didn't work for me.

good gentle cleanser for dryish skin. it hasn't dried out or caused any breakouts for my dry acne prone skin. but i'm still looking for something that can clear up blackheads, and this is a little pricey, so i'd give it a 3.5.

I have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin and this works very well for me. I give it a 4 because I cannot remove my mascara with this, so I have to use a separate eye make-up remover with cotton pads, which costs extra time and I prefere to cleanse my eye's with my hands and facial cleanser and than rinse (do I talk any sense :-)
Anyway this is very gentle and effective and not very expensive.
I use it on dry skin and than rinse.
It doesn't last very long, I think about one month.
Update 12/28: Still an okay cleanser but it dissolves difficult in water and I really prefer to cleanse with water (incl my eyes), so I will not buy again.

I have been using this cleanser for the past 13 months, and I think I've repurchased like 10 times. I would really like to keep using it, as it smells delicious, has a short (read safe) list of organic ingredients and leaves my skin soft, evened out and smooth. Also, no breakouts or reactions whatsoever, only gentle cleansing. Unfortunately, when I'm wearing slightly heavier MU than the everyday staple I have to follow with a foaming cleanser. I don't like this, especially because my skin is dry and sensitive, and I don't like stressing it out with too many products just for the cleansing routine. The biggest downside, however, is that the 75ml tube lasts very little to me, something like between three weeks and one month, depending on my MU routine. This means that I am constantly compelled to repurchase it (and where I live is not easily available everywhere) and also that the overall expense is way more than the usual €12/13 per tube. I figured in the end it would cost as a super-expensive high-end cleanser.
Sadly, I will not repurchase: instead, I am looking forward to try Trilogy's cream cleanser or MAC cleanse off oil, which at the same quality seem to offer more product (150/200 ml) therefore less stress.

I bought this product together with the almond facial oil and the almond face cream which I reviewed already.

I wrote already a lot about the face cream, which was a pretty disappointing product for me and so is the cleanser.
I was looking for a gentle cleanser, since I have dry and sensitive skin.

Well, I have to admit: MAYBE this cleanser is very gentle. But its so gentle, that my skin doesn't feel very clean afterwards. The lotion is too thick in its texture, even if your face is already wet, it feels more like a rich moisturizer than a cleansing product on your face. It doesn't feel like it is removing dirt oder make-up properly from your face, it feels more like moving it around on your skin.
I don't feel very clean after using it and always felt the need to do an after-cleaning to free my skin.

Maybe its right for non-make-up, non-sweaty and non-air-pollution days, or as a very very light cleanser in the morning, but it definitely doesn't work for me like I want a cleanser to work.

Won't buy again.

I've been getting into natural skincare lately and Weleda is one of my favorite brands (others being Alba and Boscia). This cleansing lotion works best if applied on dry skin, like several other reviewers have mentioned. It doesn't foam, but my skin feels cleansed and with just the right amount of moisture - not stripped or dry. I use a separate makeup remover for eye makeup and foundation so I can't really comment on its makeup removing abilities. It's technically unscented but to me it smells like soy milk.

I have come back to this lotion, paired with the moisture cream from the same Almond line, after several months of experimentation with other products.
I love the fact that it is simple, unscented, gentle and kind to my skin, whilst still cleansing enough for all my make-up to be removed. I do use a seperate eye m/u remover though, infact the Almond oil works well for this purpose.
It is easily available, not to pricey, especially compared to ranges such as Dr. Hauschka (Weleda's formulations actually are more effective for my sensitive skin) I paid around £8 for this online. I like the pink, metal tube packaging which can easily be cut open to get all of the cleanser out.

I love this stuff. It cleans my face but it never leaves it dry or tight.

I have sensitive skin but this stuff makes it feel smooth and happy every time.

It's kind of expensive ($25 Canadian) but a small amount goes a long way.

I will always use this product.
