I thought about purchasing this file and the #3 for a long time and was only hesitant because of the price. I decided to take the plunge and get both files and have no regrets. I like to do my own manicures and pedicures (have yet to find a nail technician who can perform the services the way I like and at a resonable price) so I use the files a lot. What did it for me was knowing that I won't have to replace these files for many years which saves money in the long run if you're like me and find your traditional emory boards/salon files become dull quickly.

Such a fantastic product. I *thought* 79cent emory boards were fine...but then I tried this, and I'll never go back. It takes just a few strokes to get file and shape. I can't get over how I can shape so well, yet not lose the length of my nail. I also wish they had a true travel size. I pray I never lose this file! :)

I have owned this file for over 5 years and it's still like the day I bought it. It shapes my natural nails with ease & it doesn't leave any rough edges. I know it's pricey but I hope to never be without it! I wish there was a small travel size. I know they have a travel size, but it's only 1" shorter, I mean a 3 or 4" one :)
If you are on the fence about spending the money for this, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Love this file - and Diamancel products in general.
Very pricey - but they last a looooong time.
Not too smooth nor too rough for my nail-type.

HUGE rave for this nail file!! If you're into maintaining your natural nails, you really need to get your hands on one of these. This particular file is designed for 'average' natural nails (they also make files meant for fine/weak or coarse nail types) and I cannot stress enough how wonderful it is. Forget sawing back and forth at your nails with an emery board or metal file, it only takes a few light strokes from this to do the same work, and it does it so much better! You can actually shape your nails without removing the length, and you don't need to worry about them looking or feeling jagged and flaking off afterward. It doesn't look particularly impressive or unique, but it's like nothing else I've used to care for my nails - gentle, effective and durable all at the same time. I have the pocket file, and honestly don't see why anyone would need to spend more money to get the 'regular' one. The pocket sized file is 6" in length, and the full sized file is 7" - but the difference in price is about $13! I paid $15 for mine at luxbeauty.com, and don't miss that extra '$13 inch' at all! 15 bucks seemed like a lot for a nail file, but when I consider how long this one is going to last, and the money I used to spend on emery boards that went dull after a few uses and tore up my nails, it's worth it! You can actually wash and reuse this as many times as you like (a nice feature of all Diamancel files) without affecting it's performance. I wish I'd spent the money on this much sooner, it's a great product from a really great line, and if I ever need to, I won't think twice about getting another!
