Didn't buy this for myself but for my mother who has pretty deep wrinkles around her lips. Therefore any lipstick/gloss ends up disastrously leaching into the wrinkles. This tinted balm formulation is easy to apply , leaves a nice sheer berry color on her lips, and most importantly doesn't look ridiculous. It's a very nice option for older faces who still want to look pretty and fresh! would definitely explore other colors.

This color is a dark brick red type color. It goes on smooth and is pretty pigmented, not sheer at all. I think its a very nice color, but unfortunately it didn't wear nicely. It really wore off in the inside of my lips and I was left looking like I had dark red liner, not really my style.
I like the fact that it has SPF and that the SPF is UVA/UVB, many lip balms skimp on including zinc oxide, titanium dioxide or avobenzone.
Another gripe I have is that you cannot twist it to lower it back down. So if you twist it to raise it up, and raise it too much, oh well, its not going back down! Kind of annoying...
Others have said it was drying, I haven't really found it drying, it just doesn't last very long and since its so dark, it made my lips look splotchy. I have it in reduce and reuse as well, and love those colors and they wear much nicely.

My review for this is very similar to Friday. Friday is a berry/red and this is a non-pink darkish red.
I like the lip sheers idea. For me the point is to be able to apply some color to my lips very quickly, without spending much time. This particular color is not great for that purpose because it's not very sheer and you do want to look in a mirror and make sure you don't end up with clown lips. I have used better sheer reds for this purpose (e.g. Clinique almost lipstick, Prescriptives)
It is a bit drying for me, especially in winter.
I gave it 4 stars however instead of 3 because these are so practical. I can keep this in my pocket as the only "touchup" item and make myself look presentable. The reason for this is, it can double as a cheek tint very easily. For this reason, i will probably buy these lip sheers again when I run out.
EDITING: After using these for a while, I must say, they really are drying. Taking off a lippe...

Hmm. This is a product I wanted to love as it's a tinted balm with SPF, but I found it to be nothing special. The color is a sheer brick red that's quite wearable, but my big problem was with the formula. I know this has mango and cocoa butters, but I found it to be not only non-moisturizing, but also a little drying. Maybe I got a bad tube or something and will definitely consider buying Champagne Brunch or Friday, but for a tinted balm with SPF I prefer Prada's Shielding Lip Balm.

I don't use Mac foundation (just their powders) but I would probably guess I'm a NC25-NC30 Light/Medium (Asian).
I'm not sure how some people are calling this a pinkish red. I really don't see the pink. It's more of a brighter shade of burgundy. It's a rather deep red so unless you just dab it on then you will get a rich color. Therefore, I wouldn't say this was a sheer. It's highly pigmented but if you don't slather it on like you would a lip balm and treat it as a lipstick then you get more of an opaque color. I like the color enough but it is on the bright side so I only use this color for evenings out or events. I really don't like just dabbing it on because I find this method is too drying and refuse to add another step by putting on a lip balm. I just opt for another product instead but the hubby seems to like the color and the fact it's not sticky and it doesn't smears all over when he goes in for a kiss.
The consistency and pigmentation reminds me of a Mac satin lipstick. In fact, I tried out one of my Mac lipsticks to compare and they almost felt the same to me. It really is nothing like a lip balm. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm not really sure I would try another color because they don't seem to have a color that's truly on the plum side, at least from the reviews. (I wanted to try Tuesday but apparently it's more of a brownish red.)
Overall, it's a pretty good product with wonderful pigmentation but it is not a sheer as it's name might lead you to believe. I might repurchase again but I prefer my Duwop Shades of Venom in Larkspur and Nightshade, which really don't have much "venom" (didn't buy them for plumping anyway) but are actually sheer and have great staying power.

This is a beautiful pinkish red color as described; HOWEVER, this dried up my lips and made them all flakey in a matter of hours after buying it and applying it. Seriously, my boyfriend was like....your lips are all flaking off. Eek. Going back to Sephora. Too bad, because it's a beautiful color.

This is my new HG. I wear it everyday. It is NOT sheer though, by any means. I barely dab it on and it gives a nice reddish pink color that I love. I have fair skin, blue eyes and brown hair and this is great color when dabbed on. It will probably last for years but when I do run out I will repurchase.

Do NOT buy this if you're looking for something sheer, these darker colors especially are incredibly pigmented and I would consider them to be lipstick in a chapstick tube. That said, I love how pigmented these are- it's a really good buy for $14. The lasting power is really great, and these leave a stain of color behind on the lips- you'll probably only need to apply once during the day, use a balm to keep your lips moist unless you want the color to go very dark. I put a light swipe of this on over a bit of BB lip tint and get a gorgeous wearable sheer berry red similar to NARS gipsy (but much cheaper), and if I put it on bare lips it's a full-on berried red. It's a very beautiful just-bitten natural color that's warm enough to wear during the spring and summer, but berry enough to look absolutely fantastic during the fall and winter. It's to die for paired with tarte blushing bride cheekstain, which doesn't look so plum when paired with this. A+ for me.

Whether or not you like this depends on what you were looking for/expecting. I thought it was a tinted balm (lip SHEER + balm style packaging), so after begging my dad to buy them for me (got this and monday), i rubbed it around my lips and said "so do you like it?" well, lets just say there were some taken-aback looks and i was informed that it was a little dark and i should take a look myself, so i found a mirror (hadn't left sephora yet) and i looked with a two year old who had smeared on her mom's dark burgundy wine colored lipstick! it was horrible! i have since learned how to apply it so that it is wearable: apply regular lip balm first and then rub this color gently over it so that it is actually sheer. this makes it nice but it is too much work, especially for the super expensive price tag!!!! i think this was the most pricey purchase i've made for makeup! yikes!

This is a great color to give your lips that "just bitten" look. You have to apply this VERY lightly though, or else it comes out looking way to harsh. This will last forever, so it sorta makes up for the steep price tag. Will be trying these in more shades.

I love this shade! I'm PPP and have difficulty finding a shade that is bright enough to bring some color to my complexion, yet is not overwhelming. A very good red for strawberry blondes & redheads and best of all - no gloss or frost - just natural beautiful color!

I was looking for a good long lasting lip stain. This is a nice product if I was just looking for a nice lip gloss stick. It was $16, which was a bit much. It doesn't last long at all, but my blonde blue eyed friend LOVES it and it is now her favorite lip color and she has gotten many compliments.

Sheer? Too dark and dried my lips out faster than I could pass this crap off to my sister. Seriously, Saturday made my lips looks like two elongated raisins. Probably would have made a better blush stick or clown paint? Too bad too because I love Tarte :(
