Finally jumped on the co-wash bandwagon and I am so happy I did the switch, took my hair about a week to fell o.k with that change and so far it's been about a month, my hair has never looked better, I've tried every shampoo out there, my hair was super damaged and now it feels like super silky virgin hair, a true miracle! Only con is that I have to use quite a bit of product since I have bra strap length hair.

I would not recommend this for use as a regular conditioner, but for co-washing, this is perfect for me! My hair is very fine with oily roots and slightly dry ends. I first tried the Suave Clarifying Conditioner as a co-wash, but even that left my hair pretty greasy by the next day. So then I tried this and it is perfect! It leaves my hair clean, shiny, and bouncy! Even the next day, my hair is still not greasy (which is something I have never experienced, even with regular shampoo/conditioner). You can get a bottle for under $1, so you have nothing to lose!

My hair is very short and doesn't need a whole lot of conditioning. I use this and the accompanying shampoo daily and I am happy with the results. I wouldn't recommend the other Vo5 products, just the clarifying shampoo and conditioner. This also comes in a family size bottle with a pump. The smells i pretty nice, nothing special.

I've had this for months and never really used it. I decided to cowash for 30 days using no cone cheapies and WEN. One day I put a stinky sulfur mix in my hair and was trying to wash it out. I tried WEN but my hair didn't feel clean. So I dumped a bunch of Kiwi Lime on my hair and scrubbed and scrubbed. It worked! When I rinsed, my hair felt light and clean, not coated like with WEN. Don't get me wrong, I love my WEN, but I don't feel like it cleans my scalp or hair well. I use my WEN for moisture and VO5 to clean.
For a $1 or less, this stuff is amazing! Honestly before I thought the hype over these were overrated. Now that I know how to use it, it really works!

Trying to save money, I cut back on my beauty products, but I don't want to get to the point where the results look cheap as well. Vo5 has proven to be an extremely cheap conditioner where the quality was just as good for me as any of the other conditioners I've used. And with other conditioners running anywhere from $5 to...well, many, many more dollars, this one at only 78 cents (at time of writing) is definitely welcomed!
Method: I apply it for as long as possible. I have very long hair, so I apply about 2-3 tablespoons, evenly coated over the ends of my hair (from the neck down, to be precise). I prefer to not apply it to my scalp, since no matter what I do, I have an oily scalp if I do this. If I'm short on time, I start it in the shower (usually on dry or damp hair) and rinse it off last. Otherwise, I've left it on for hours.
Results: Healthy, shiny hair. The watery texture of the conditioner is a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, unlike gooier, stickier conditioners, it spreads easier so you need less of it. On the down side, sometimes it pours fast out of the bottle, so you run out faster. A little caution, and this shouldn't really be an issue. The Kiwi and Lime Squeeze Clarifying Conditioner is a nice blend of lightly cleansing, definitely nourishing, and pleasant scented (very mild, if you're sensitive to that sort of thing). Running between the before mentioned 78 cents and $1.30 for 15 oz, it's great on a budget without sacrificing quality.
Side note: I must be the only person who didn't know it wasn't just called "Vo5", but Alberto Vo5. The more you know.

Love this conditioner! Gives the perfect amount of slip and is very lightweight. The smell is also sweet - nice and light. I'd definitely repurchase!
EDIT 04/30/2012: I took a lippie off because I finally determined what was making my upper back break out. This conditioner! I can still use the matching shampoo just fine, though. Beware for those of you prone to bacne!

Smells decent, not overly sweet, which I like. I like fruity but not sugary gaggy sweet fruity. I think the Suave Clarifying is much better for deep cleaning but I pick this up every once in awhile when I'm bored.

This conditioner is a staple. I use it for co-washing my 4a hair of medium thickness. It does a good job of clearing away gunk between shampoos. Have and will continue to repurchase over and over.

I've used this off and on for years with the clarifying shampoo. It doesn't weigh my hair down after clarifying. If you need light moisture (as in hardly any) this is perfect. With a little leave in conditioner it is great for summer days. I'm sure if I didn't get bored easily I would repurchase this since I just ran out but I want to try Neutrogena Clean to see if it can replace my clarifying shampoo/conditioner and my volumizing shampoo/conditioner (Nexxus). Either way, I'm sure at some point in my life I'll repurchase this. At $1 it's hard to beat.

I have been using VO5 on and off since high school but I began CO-washing about 2 months ago and was shocked yet delighted to read on many haircare sites that this seems to be an HG product for many. After trying it for myself this has become a product I have repurchased over and over. First, I don't think it really smells like kiwi or lime, but rather, it's just a very fresh and fruity and clean smelling conditioner. Very nice! Second, this really leaves my hair feeling clean and fresh after co-washing, more so than the other varieties of conditioner. I love the texture of this, as it's pudding-like and spreads easily throughout my hair. I have fine hair so this has worked for me to leave my hair clean but also moisturized. I will repurcahse as long as it's available.

For CO-washing, this stuff is (and pardon the dated, '90's expression) the BOMB! When I use this for CO-washing, it leaves my hair feeling as clean as shampoo, but super soft and shiny. This stuff kicks Wen's a**! This works great as a regular conditioner when used after shampooing too. I avoided this for years, thinking that because it was so cheap, it must be junk. That's not the case at all and this is, in fact, better than a lot of salon brand, super pricey conditioners. I don't really see any good reason to use anything other Vo5 conditioners for the foreseeable future. For $1, something really amazing would have to come along....

Here's the thing: It's a clarifying conditioner, so it's not going to provide a ton of moisture. I use during the cooler months, when my hair is mostly tame, and I only need a little conditioner on the ends. The scent and price are great as well.

I could have sworn that this line made my hair turn to STRAW every single dang time I've used it in the past. That is why I have avoided it for so many years, excluding the hot oil, which I do like. So i was really suprised that it actually did what it claimed to to do.
First of all, i got this on sale at CVS for .64 cents, ok so it rang up to .72 with tax, but come on? When do you every buy condish that cheap? And of course if it didn't work, thats .72 cents down the drain. Boo hoo.
Well, I am super suprised. I clarified my hair with the usual baking soda, and conditioned with this. My hair feels silky, smooth and just really soft. The fragrance isn't bad at all, some mua'er said it smells like straight puke, um it really doesn't but then again, I just wrote another review about a dif condish that smelled straight up like rancid hairspray and everyone else thinks it smells amazing. Oh well, I guess we each of our dif sense of smell.
Overall, its great, its cheap and I am really liking it. I might look into their other scents but only maybe...I don't want to glorify VO5 just yet.

This did nothing for me as a conditioner. I have long fine color treated/heat styled/somewhat damaged hair. However I love this as a shave cream! I can even use it with the cheap pink disposal razors rather than my beloved $Venus$ razor and have no nicks or irritation. I love saving that extra money! I will buy this again for sure.

Out of all the Vo5 things I've tried, this is the worst. I don't really see a good point to it. No conditioning, no good scent, and no smoothing properties.

I love this stuff. After using salon products for years, I read about this brand on hair boards and thought if I ever saw it I would give it a try. It cost me all of $2, and it's brilliant. It doesn't weigh down my fine hair, it has no protein (which is what originally made me want to try it) and it provides enough slip for me to detangle. I mess around with my hair routine a lot, but when all else fails I do a good clarifying wash and come back to this baby.

(tried with different cone-free ones. its just not working for my hair)
so i use this with my shampoobar
result is so so so gooooooooood!
my hair is super sleek!!! its not sleek look that looks kinda greasy-
individual strands flows!! rather than sticking together
i'm sure its great conditioner for co-wash if ur hair works with co-washing
it is HG from now on.i its dollar very well spent!

I recently started a regimen of using sulfate free shampoo about once a week and CO washing the rest of the time to preserve my hair color. I heard this was a well liked conditoner for that purpose so I checked it out and was super happy when I saw the price--84 cents at my walmart!! It smells great and does exactly what I want. I even love it as a shaving creme! A great product at a great price and what more could you ask for?
