what a beautiful aldehyde!!!
this is soft, powdery, sensual honeysuckle, that really reminds me of unripe banana skin....but it is so much more....Sicily is very cheerfull, I can't really say that the commercial with gorgeous Monica pinpointed the perfume's character, but it is extremely sexy in its own, sicilian way....this perfume is far from mainstream, boring, generic,or somewhat legere....
it has a joyful character due to the powderiness slightly resembling first lush and voluptious D&G (the one with the red cap)....but Sicily is far less dramatic and needy, and D&G is drama queen must have!!they are both amazingly feminine, beautiful, and creamy but without going in the gourmand category path....
Sillage is fantastic, it is very long living on me and it doesn't change much....and that is great, because it means I can still sense it after 8 hrs!!!

nowadays it is a very hard perfume to find, but if you see it somewhere, give it a try.....honeysuckle honeyed gold, with shiny, sunny sprinkles of bergamot and aldehydes, heliotrope that gives a childlike sweeteness, sandalwood that gives it calm, sexy spine....

almost good enough to eat spread like a butter on a piece of toast<3

I love it, but I agree with the others-wear it in the cold weather, because it could be very nauseating during the summer or in hot ,humid weather...

8.5/10

My dad gave this to me as a gift once. It's an okay perfume... I'd say sort of a summery scent because it reminds me of the beach for some reason. It's citrusy and I guess a bit soapy like everyone else is saying. The scent is quite prominent as well... you can smell it on yourself. It's not a perfume I'd typically wear though, since I tend to like more floral scents. I wouldn't buy it again either because of how pricy it would be retail and, like I said, it's not a scent I'd wear too often.

I don't often get a scrubber but this was one on me. It has a lot of soap, some citrus (lost in soap), fruit, strangely boiled rice, maybe basmati and did I mention the soap? My wrists were practically foaming! I washed it off with more soap but it would not go. Finally it wore off - gave mine away. Great if you love banana soap.

Decidely odd. What are bananas doing with soap, bergamot, wood, and vanilla? This fragrance is up to no good.

The opening is not impossible -- citric, leaves. Then the banana. Then someone washes the banana on a wooden counter. They're eating ice cream. Why?

More wood. More ice cream. More green. Someone is cleaning again. Odd twinges and bits of notes, mostly floral. Then more banana.

I harbor the suspicion that somewhere out there, someone has the chemistry to smell devastatingly beautiful and sophisticated in this, that somehow there's a way these notes will end well. Not on me, though.

After surfing the web for a soapy perfume i stumbled upon Sicily. I decided to buy it w/o smelling it because i was so sure that i would like it since it was described as "soapy". I LOVE soapy scents! When i sprayed the perfume it i immediately smelled the soap that everyone else was talking about, and it was EXACTLY what i was looking for! Just imagine the best smeling bar soap that u could imagine. Unfortunately, a couple of minutes lata i started to notice that it was starting to smell a little rancid---as if the bottle was going bad. I returned it to the store, aint no way i was gonna pay $84 for a rotten mess!. I, however, could not stop thinking abt the soapiness of this perfume and decided to buy it from another seller, and i'm glad i did. It is so soapy, sweet and fresh all at once. This is not a teeny bopper scent. This reminds me of a mature, sexy woman who would wear this only when she's wearing her fur coat. It something u have to try!
EDIT: Even though i love the soapy opening of Sicily, i just hate the drydown, it goes really sour...uuuughh. Anyone knows anything that mimics the soapiness of the top notes of sicily?

I think Sicily is a modern creation of timeless scent. Its floral-aldehyde composition makes it unique and complex. It opens up better on skin and IMO smells better during cooler time of the year. Lasting power is good and you only need a little bit but it is no way overpowering or nauseating.

I read someone here said that you wear this perfume and laying naked on bed and feel like you are wearing diamonds, I really can picture that! Only what I feel is big chunk of diamonds on my finger and beautiful diamond necklace. That's how I describe the luxurious when wearing Sicily.
The drydown is a killer! Love it!!
Stays long on my skin, more than 8hours. From dinner to lunch time the next day.
HANDS DOWN to Sicily.

With notes including - sicilian bergamot, honeysuckle, jasmine, black pearl rose, hibiscus, heliotrope, sandalwood and musk I though that Sicily would smell wonderful on me. Well, I was wrong. It's a good thing I purchased a small .33 oz. bottle for a few dollars on eBay instead of splurging for a full size.

On me, Sicily smells like an older (1970s/80s) hair spray. I was so surprised and disappointed by this. Heavy, cloying, chemical and florals! Maybe it's my personal chemistry but I did put some on a cotton ball, let it stand for several hours and then smelled it. I noted the same overwhelming hair spray scent. Ugh!

The bottle itself is chic and modern looking, so sadly that's the only plus I can personally give Sicily.

I have always loved this on other people, and I wanted that soapy, clean fragrance with friendly banana and sunshine. Alas, it produces a bitter odd note on me. Tenacious as well:(

Someone mentioned that this scent was "soapy" and I would agree. To me it smells like Dove bar soap mixed with alcohol. I wouldn't necessarily want to smell like this all day and find that this scent is very unsophisticated mixed with my chemistry. Off to find another HG!

I love this stuff. I usually wear it during winter because it feels kinda heavy for summer. It is so beautiful though. Really soapy but not citrusy like most soapy scents. I feel like im channeling my inner Sophia Loren when I wear this. Grown up but not old ladyish, sexy but not in a flirty way. Its like pure sex appeal in a bottle.

This is the perfect scent to spritz on when you are wearing a LBD (Little black dress) on a sexy night out somewhere upmarket.
It is strong and musky and super sexy and certainly will command the attention of a man as I believe it is more to nail them because it is sexy and strong.
Its heavy and definately for the night and on a hot date. It really is a grower as I never lied it at first but compliments from men came flodding in and I realised there is a place for this on my perfume schedule and that is when my guy takes me somewhere nice and expensive. Rare but like this scent it is different from the stronger couture scents. It is like the Dolce and Gabbannas Chnel no.5.
You can wear this in bed naked and feel like you are wearing diamonds.
I love and appreciate the scent much more. It is sexy and definately for the older generation. I am 30 and I feel like this is ok for me and more apprecaited for the older audience. It has an olden scent that is romantic and reminds me of a femme fatale this scent really evokes a story and deserves attention even if it really is overpowering. I have grown to love it.

I hated it and now I love it. I feel great in it and only wear it as a treat as it seems more suitable that way because it really is too much for a regular day or night.

Lovely floral soapy perfume...sicilian bergamot, honeysuckle, jasmine, black pearl rose,hibiscus,heliotrope,sandalwood,musk...smells like a soapy floral,a bouquet of rose and honeysuckle,a little baby powder...a little like my Dove soap white beauty bar which makes me happy...

This is a citrusy, soapy (SOAPY) floral that I actually really like except for the fact that it starts off with a sharply sour note that softens but lingers on. Maybe it's just my skin, but that sourness is a real turn-off. It's too bad because otherwise Sicily leaves me with a lovely, fresh, I've-just-come-out-from-the-shower feel. Lasting power is reasonable, around 4 hrs on me.

I will be the first to admit that I totally fell for this perfume's marketing campaign: Monica Belluci crying and having her clothes stripped off her while some sexy Italian guy looks on? Sign me up. And I will further admit that when I ran out of my first bottle of Sicily, I immediately went online to buy another. But I genuinely loved it at the time and I still do genuinely like it, although I don't see myself ever running out of this bottle again -- I reach for it less and less these days. But Sicily remains a sexy, modern aldehyde scent. Kind of linear but that never really bothers me in perfumes. Perfect in the summer...but, again, I've worn it in cold weather and thought it was perfect then, too. I think the reason people are calling this an "old lady" scent is because it's not particularly floral or sharp or green -- all the things associated with youthfulness in perfumes. But if you must call this an "old lady" scent, then at least admit it's for one smokin' hot old lady...and I'm not saying that just because of Monica Belluci in her underwear (I'm serious -- go watch these ads on youtube!). Sicily is a good, solid scent.

Had a sniff of this when studying in Berlin, and splurged for a bottle -- my student budget was not exactly extravagant. :)

Six years later, I've worn a lot of other scents (JAdore is my other staple), but this is still my favorite and the one I identify with best. I'm not a perfume expert and can't list any of the notes. It's just lovely, fun, feminine but not girlish. I love it.

It is indeed strong and lingering -- just use in moderation.
