Okay so I own a L.A color lip liner in a plum color, its a gorgeous burgandy red thats warm.
So I swatched it on my hand, and I looked for a color and this came kind of close.
I would NEVER wear this lipstick on its own, because its a bit too dark and gothic for me. Although i do love that trend.
So I slide this over my lips and put NYX Lip cream in Antwerp. This makes my lip warmer and more toned down.
Pros-
creamy
pigmented
moisturizing
cons-
Packaging is that awful 1980s purple
Doesn't slide up properly
smells somewhat weird.

Gorgeous color , albeit a bit dark , long lasting, doesn't dry the lips. I could go on for days. The color is more of a dark red with a blue undertone vs a muave color. Although it is not drying it is soft and easy to apply. This does need touch ups if you are eating or going out for a long time.

I've been eyeing this color for months. Today, I went to the MAC counter and the SA recommended Sheen Supreme in Good to be Bad. I opted for another color but left with GTBB on my lips and headed for Ulta. I hoped to get a decent dupe of this yummy plummy red color and found Rimmel's Bordeaux. First off, I hate to call any color Goth, especially such a pretty lady like color such as plum reds. It takes a lady to wear this color right and depending on how you do the rest of your makeup, you will not look goth. - Just don't pile on the black eye liner, stick with a neutral eye! Anyway, Bordeaux is not an exact match because of the formulation differences, it's not quite as bright, and lack of sheen compared to GTBB, but I was very happy with this color and price. One trick for toning this color down a little is using brown lip liner and fill in the lipstick just a little bit. Super gorgeous and works well with my golden undertones.

I think this is a really nice color. However, it just doesn't work super well for me. I'm not a big lipstick person and it's very hard for me to pull off dark colors, such as this, because I feel like you need to be super precise for it to look nice. Whereas a light lipstick color isn't as obvious if the lip line isn't perfect. I also have small lips as well... so dark colors usually emphasize that fact and make them look even smaller than they already are. For someone with normal or fuller lips, I think this color would be sexy. It reminds me of a red wine color. Very sophisticated. The texture/consistancy is nice as well. It's not matte but not shimmery. I guess it's somewhat glossy, but not overly so.

For a natural juicy "bitten" lipcolor, I first applied a clear lipgloss, dabbed it in to reduce some of the shine, following with the Rimmel 1000 kisses lipliner in Natural, filling the lip area. Finally, I blended a *tiny bit* of Bordeaux onto my lips to creat the lightest flush. It looks as if I'd been kissed for two hours straight :)

I was just randomly shopping in the makeup aisle at Longs, and I saw this in the clearance bucket. Got this lipstick for $3 and I love it!! It's such a sophisticated color without being too harsh on the face. Best way to describe this color is that it looks just like red wine. :) color is dark yet it brightens my face. Love wearing this lipstick with a neutral black winged eye. Love love love!

LOVE this lippie. It's a super-pigmented dark red, wine colour with a matte finish. It goes on smoothly, lasts forever and as pretty much all Rimmel lipsticks, it's very moisturising, almost feels like a balm. Definitely one of my top shades and absolutely going to repurchase.

I love this color, its a dark maroon. At first I was too scared to get it because it was so dark, but I really think its gorgeous. I got it for half off the original price, so I thought it was really cheap for such a pretty color. The consistency is a bit dry. It goes on matte with a slight sheen, not glossy or sparkly.
It looks great with a light application and a heavy one, its quite versatile, especially since I'm quite tanned.

This is a nice berry/burgandy/wine shade of lipstick. Not really what I consider a red lipstick, but I can see how this could work as a red or even look like red to some people. I don't think this color looks "goth" at all; I think so many people are used to nudes and pinks, that anything darker looks "too much." Bordeaux could look goth if it were heavily applied and paired with extremely dark shadow and liner, and no blush; but if worn correctly, bordeaux is really gorgeous. ( Same goes for traditional reds; wear them the wrong way and classic glamour crosses into hoochy mama.)
The consistency of this lipstick is quite creamy and it is heavily pigmented, so careful application is a must, or it can get pretty messy! (I haven't worn it with lip liner, but I'll probably end up buying one for it) This is the method I use to make it last and look good: I blot some on straight from the tube to stain the lips, then I blot my lips on paper, and repeat the process again. This results in berry-stained lips. A little lip balm may be necessary at this point, but not too much, just enough to keep lips from drying. I then apply the lipstick with a lip brush for precision, and build the color to my liking. This process keeps the lips looking neat and the the stained undercoat helps the color last longer even as the top coat fades.
Overall, I think this a great lipstick, at great price.

Interesting feel on my lips, GORGEOUS color. By interesting feel I mean this glossy, heavy, moisturized sensation. By gorgeous color I mean this extremely deep red which can get almost blackish and very vampy when layered. By the way, it is extremely layerable. The only gripe I have with this adorably packaged lipstick is the fact that it doesn't last. At ALL. I continue to love it, though...even though I do look a bit like a vampire =)

This lipstick shade is simply lush! I can't apply it full-strength because I have very fair skin, but applied lightly and blotted down, this color is the most beautiful deep berry shade! I am thrilled because I have always thought I was pretty much barred from all deep lipstick shades but I'm very happy to be proven wrong! This color is deep and sexy and I love it a lot! I wish the tube wasn't so tacky though.

Beautiful color, nice packaging and a great price! You really can't go wrong with this color. It's a burgendy with a red undertone that is great for the winter months. I will admit it is a bit gothic but not overly so, and can be blotted down to be more neutral. It has great staying power and fades evenly. I also like that it doesnt dry my lips out or make them flake. I got this shade on clearance for under $3.00 at Ulta so I hope it isnt discontinued.

Wow! This lipstick is a deep burgundy bordering on to black. It's very gothic, the colour of blood. I'll have to find out how I'll make it work. Bordeaux definitely works with my olive skin, because of it's major blue undertones.
UPDATE:
I'm not a fan of the formula of Rimmel lipsticks in general. The oclour is nice close up, but makes my lips look tiny from far away. Also, when I wore this to a party, someone asked me if I was goth.

This is a good cool-toned red lipstick that has decent staying power, and has a goth tinge. Very classic, with a bit of edge. The price is nice, too.
It's way too dark for me with a matching liner, but it has a lovely true cool-red color and lasts for 3-4 hours with one application on its own. I do find it to be slightly drying, so I use Carmex or similar first, and then apply the lipstick afterwards. Great for the holidays!

I've been hunting for a red lippie I can wear, and I think I found it! Reds always turn pink on me, but this one is dark enough and heavily pigmented enough to give great coverage. It was the smidgiest bit too cool-toned, but I added a layer of Colorstay Lipglaze in Stay Ablaze, which is a slightly too transparent, warmer red, and ended up with a gorgeous, shiny deep red. Yay!

This shade is gorgeous, slightly gothic even. I have it in the lasting finish formula and the staying power is decent but not fabulous. I do have to reapply several times throughout the day. If you're looking for a rich deep red, this one will do the trick for cheap.

I love this lipstick. It feels and looks the same as one of those stunning (and much more expensive) Chanel hydrabase lipsticks. The Bordeaux shade gives a wine stained appearance and feels incredibly sexy. A touch goth- I keep the rest of my makeup low key so that the focus is on the lips. Would definitely recommend.

Bordeaux (#195) Lasting Finish is a rich, beautiful reddish-wine on me, but I only wear it occasionally because it's hard to get past the sickly sweet fragrance (one lippie off). Too bad the formula changed, these lipsticks used to have a slight chocolate-ly fragrance only). Oh well. I still recommend it because of the fabulous coverage, price and shade!
