This is the same review I posted in the Lipgloss *general* section. This is similiar to the kit QVC sells (eight minis and a case) but different colors. And at a much lower and IMO realistic price!
I purchased the Smashbox Mini Lip Gloss collection from my favorite warehouse store last November. I am sorry I waited so long to actually use these glosses! They are fantastic.
This was my first Smashbox purchase. For eleven dollars I received eight .07 ounce mini lip glosses and one black patent gloss case. The case is lined in red satin and has a mirror. It is just large enough to hold three of the mini glosses. I was surprised to find that I actually use the case as it prevents the tiny little glosses from getting lost in my purse.
The glosses themselves are the best I have ever tried. They are not too sticky or goopy and have no noticeable scent. The colors are pretty and REALLY glossy. I find that the gloss stays put on the lips for a good amount of time but you will need to reapply throughout the day. The glosses don't really moisturize your lips but they don't dry them out either. They give the lips a nice smooth, even, and REALLY shiny finish. And I must mention again NO scent! I can't stand the scents commenly added to lip products as they are often horrible. With some of the colors I can detect a slight grittiness. It is very slight and I suspect this has to do with the glitter in a few of the colors. I don't like gritty gloss myself and this hasn't detered me from wearing the Smashbox glosses. You will need to use a lipliner as the gloss will bleed (especially the darker colors).
As I mentioned before the colors are really pretty. Even the colors that look too bright or too chalky in the tube look completely different when applied. None of the eight colors in my set look great on me alone so I have been mixing two colors at a time. I find Pout and Features to be the most versatile of the colors. I can layer them on top of any other color to soften the look of a gloss and make my lips look fuller (especially Pout). In the tube Pout looks like a chalky pink disaster. Don't let that scare you. Pout is such a versatile color. I would never wear it alone but it is handy to have as a tool in my makeup kit. The colors that came in the kit are: Pout, Desire, Blur, Features, Finale, Sassy, Accessories, and Beauty.
The glosses are in a small wand style applicator. I don't expect to get alot of product from each tube as they truly are mini size. But it's a great way to try new colors and get introduced to the product. The ingredients are as follows:
polybutene, helianthus annuus (hybrid sunflower) oil, octyldodecanol, candelilla (euphorbia cerifera) wax, carnauba (copernica cerifera) wax, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, benzophenone-3, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, trihydroxystearin, propylparaben, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol, may contain: titanium dioxide, iron oxides, red 6 lake, red 7 lake, red 27 lake, blue 1 lake, yellow 5 lake, carmine, red 36 lake, red 40 lake, mica.
I would purchase the Smashbox lip gloss minis again if I can find them at this price ($11). I would never pay the full retail for this set ($30 plus dollars) or $20 dollars for a full size gloss. But if the price doesn't bother you I think this is a lipgloss worthy of trying. Just try the colors before you buy or purchase from a retailer with a generous return policy in case you pick the wrong color!

I love Christmas cosmetics shopping just to buy lip gloss mini sets to test out then pass along to friends and family (who don't mind my cooties :). I like the full-sized Smashbox glosses better due to the brush rather than sponge applicator, but generally I like the lack of scent, moisturizing effect, and naturalness of the colors. I'd love to buy full-sized in Beauty (perfect pinky coral) and Accessories (perfect pink), but apparently that's not an option, and they're just LE. (?) What's the point of a teaser mini product if you can't buy the real thing? And I have noticed that for whatever reason, Smashbox lipgloss runs out REALLY fast. I've had other lipglosses that last for years, and can hardly remember too many glosses that I've run through (usually I reach a point where I'm over it and just toss.) I know this sounds silly talking about a mini, but I've had other minis that last for a year, and also have full-sized Smashbox glosses that I've used up in a few months of occasional use.
I do love the quality and colors, though, and have become a big proponent of Smashbox lip products and will continue to buy more.

I bought this kit on QVC sometime last year and I'm SO incredibly disappointed:(( I don't insist on having flavor or scent in my lip glosses, but something is needed in these. Can I just say....GROSS! The texture and colors are fabulous, but that doesn't make up for the fact that they smell horrible. After a few months, they changed to the point that I wouldn't even put them on my Swap List! I actually have TWO sets of these. I'm thinking of buying peppermint oil or something similar, to try and get my money's worth out of them. If only I would have bought this set from Cosco, I might not be as upset. I can say, with confidence, I'll not be wasting my money on any more of Smashbox's Lippies. It's no wonder those boys ran Max Factor into the ground!

I got my smashbox collection from costco for about ten dollars. Looking at the colors in the tubes I didn't think they would look good on my lips, but when I put them on I actually liked them all. The colors are beautiful and all a little different. The colors that came in my collection are, sassy, desire, put, features, beauty, finale and blur. The consistancy is slightly sticky. The colors also have a really nice shimmer to them. The tubes are pretty small though, the size of the part with the actual gloss is about an inch tall with a cenimeter base. The tubes are small, but it's a good way of trying out many different colors without having to buy the full sizes.

i got my costco membership's worth with this one! the "layout" collection was $8.99 there, and i've loved every color i've tried so far. even "pout," which doesn't look anything like pink frosting once it's on. the gloss consistency is great--not sticky or thick, and the variety of colors is really impressive. i'll definitely repurchase if it pops up at costco again!

I'll make this short and simple. This is a fantastic gloss collection. I have tried most glosses, so I know what I'm talking about. This was my first foray in Smashbox and I am extremely impressed. The gloss has a great slip to it, almost like a gel. Not drying, long wearing for a gloss, great shine, and every single one of the colors worked for me. I will be buying more shades in full sized tubes. Yay!

I swapped blindly for this set (it's missing three of the colors), thinking that if nothing else, they'd be cute novelty items. I expected that maybe I'd like one of the colors, but to my astonishment, I like ALL FIVE -- and it's really rare for me to like colored lip glosses. My HG lip gloss is Clinique's Black Honey, but based on my earlier testing, Fire is a close second. (It's a deep burgandy/berry sheer shade, much like Black Honey.) Blur is a brownish mauve, and it's almost the same color as my lips, so it gives me a nice "finished" look. Pixel is a nudish brown that looks as though it'll be good for layering with brownish hued lipsticks, and Star is a clear gloss with a bit of shimmer. The biggest surprise for me was the fact that I liked Pout, which is a Barbie doll pink (and I normally can't wear pinks). But it's lovely and sheer, very understated. These are also shiny but not greasy, and they also have a nice balm-type effect without being tacky. I'm really impressed!

Smashbox gloss is too tacky and smells like wax. The pigmentation is goos buT the packaging tends to get really dirty because of the rubberized coating. I much prefer MAC lipglass and Stila lipglaze products!

I only found half the shades wearable for me. My favorites were desire, candid, and star. The others just didn't look great with my coloring. Otherwise they're great if you want a variety of shades.

love the lipglosses. the colors were better than i expected (i pictured barely there but this was much better). i love that they are small and can be stashed into a teeny tiny bag but i am a little worried about how to get the last bit of gloss out. hmmm...yea, they want you to buy more. ok, so a few of my favs will be bought full sized from sephora.

This was my first Smashbox lipgloss purchase. The QVC price seemed right and when the set arrived, I loved it! The small glosses were absolutely perfect for my purse, desk drawer, etc. I didn't expect a large size and got what I paid for. It was an excellent chance to try this brand of gloss, which I think it superb. I have just ordered their other small size gloss set from QVC called "Second act". I expect the same quality, fun factor, differnt colors! I'd say give it a try.

I couldnt resist getting this from QVC but couldnt believe the size of the tubes. They are much smaller than even the GWP lipglosses that you might get from Lancome or Clinique! They are like minature lipglosses with tiny wands. It wouldnt matter that much if I liked the actual lipglosses but I didnt. Most of them had a weird old lipstick smell and most of the colors were very common and can be found in any drugstore line or had way too much frost when I wanted shimmer. I am definitely returning this and will probably never be tempted to buy another Smashbox item again since in my opinion, it's hard to mess up a simple product like lipgloss.

not a great product. thank god i got it from qvc which returns things easily. the lipglosses were okay, but the packageing is horrible and the spongetip applicator was rough and hurt mylips. i will stick with mac or other lip products. i also tried and returned the second mini gloss kit in the qvc selection called second act. maybe i will buy mystery gloss form smashbox at a later time but not the kits or mini glosses agian. if you insist on purchasing this item i say get it from qvc so you can do an easy return.

Fantastic product here. Great sample sizes. This is my HG lipgloss. Nice texture and color. No fragrance or taste. Lasts londer than most other I have tried. Love most all the colors as they are not too intense. Definately worth the price, especially in a kit.

I am normally not a lip gloss type of gal but I couldn't resist these cute little things. I loved that you got a variety of colors. There are a few that don't work on me but most are great! They are fun to layer together or layer over lipstick. I can't imagine I'll ever use all of these up so I doubt I'd repurchase. If you love gloss, this is a great way to try Smashbox's glosses.

I'm very happy with this purchase I made from Smashbox. Not all of the colors good on me, but I those with other lipsticks. The colors are not as dark as they appear in the tubes and they have a nice consistancy to them (they are not "stickly"). I have a bad habit of "eating" my lipsticks/lipglosses, but these stay on a good while.

I love the little mini lipglosses!! I've been in search of a lipgloss that's not STICKY and these are NOT! :-) I sell a non-department store line of makeup and I bought this on a whim from QVC one day (shhh.. don't tell.. but hey, gotta check out the competition, right!) This lipgloss is just that much better than the line I offer
I mix and match the colors and they stay on long and make even my lips feel softer once they've worn off. I love the little package they came in.. I am using most of the colors except the dark burgendy color and the red.. those are not "me" nor are they too summery for right now. I highly recommend this product!

I saw this on QVC so many times before I finally purchased it at my local Sephora. It was expensive -$40 with tax- but I was still so looking forward to having it. The colors are not great for me. I am fair skinned with lips that make everything look pink. I think they're great for wearing on top of a regular lipstick or for wearing during the summer when you have a tan and just want a hint of color with some shine. But for me in the winter, the shades have to be combined with some of my own lipstick to get a richer and not-so-pink tone. I still don't regret buying it, but the lip gloss certainly doesn't look as good on me as it did on TV!

Exactly how much of a sucker am I for miniature lip glosses?! I bought Lola, and Sugar - and now these! I wear all of the colours in this set - but some more often than others of course! I love being able to sling a couple in the smallest bag and I love having a 'wardrobe' of colours to choose from. these have more colour than Sugar glosses but are more wearable for me than the Lola Menagerie. The only one I don't have in heavy rotation is the red shade (Blaze I think)
