Good colours but pigmentation is lame. More shimmer than actual colour. Good quality, but not as finely milled and pretty as my Bella Pierre eye dusts. Proportion of fillers is greater than actual pigment. Won't repurchase

Managed to score three of these and a brush for $10. The colours I ended up with were Cool Mint, Azure, and Chiffon. I really love Chiffon and Azure. They look great together, and Azure is the best sky-blue I've ever used. I was a little less impressed by Cool Mint, as it didn't blend especially well with the others, but I'm planning to experiment and find some shades that work with it. The pigmentation is fantastic, very bright and shimmery, although there was quite a bit of fallout.
The downside for me was the packaging, as others have mentioned. I was surprised to find that the brush Annabelle included in the kit was too big to fit through the hole... a really weird oversight, I thought. And of course, unscrewing the whole lid leads to a big poof of powder escaping.
Overall, I love these and will definitely buy them again, but I really wish the packaging were better.

I have been using this eye dust in myth for quite a while. Its a silver taupey colour great neutral, very shimmery. Looks amazing paired with mac's satin taupe eyeshadow. It's one of my favourites. Will buy again.

I'm a big fan of this line, although they can be deceiving. I now have four different shades of the eye dusts, and all have a secondary colour to it that you can't really pick up on when it's just in the jar (Prism appears white, but goes on pale lilac. Myth looks brown but has a silver sheen to it. Golden Pink looks pink, but shimmers gold, of course). As such, you may end up with a shadow that's a little bit flashier than you were expecting.
Nonetheless, I'm a big fan of this line. The colours are bright and well-pigmented and fairly long lasting. The only major complaint is, of course, the packaging. The powders are stored in little tubs with two ways to open them: a snap-off lid, or unscrewing the whole lid. Both ways are problematic. The snap-off lid reveals a very small hole which most brushes aren't going to fit in. Unscrewing the lid frequently results in some of the powder flying everywhere (although it's not as messy as some other screw cap loose shadows I've dealt with). Could be worse, but it's kind of infuriating since a larger opening for the snap-top would have been ideal.
All in all, I love these shadows. They're losing one point for both the annoying packaging and the deceptiveness of the colours (Not a problem for me, but may be for others).

I think these are great pigments, however a bit too shimmery. All of the regular pigment dust are shimmery, when used wet or with the base the colour does come out a lot more pigmented. I now have these in almost all the colours I wished i used them more then I did, they're great just not everyday colours

** Annabelle has renamed this line to "Mineral Pigment Dust," but it is the same exact product. **
What it Claims:
"Let there be light! These highly pigmented loose eye shadows are made with fine pearl particules and minerals to create incredible shine and shimmer. Use just a little for a more subtle effect or apply wet in a bold stroke for incredible luminescence. Available in convenient and fuss-free compacts, they contain the most beautiful shades. Be as mild or as wild as you wish!"
Claims - True or False?
1) Highly pigmented: Mostly true.
2) Incredible shine and shimmer: True.
3) Fuss-free compacts: False.
Packaging:
I like the idea behind the packaging in terms of appearances, but I find it to be quite pointless. As with all loose powders, it has a screw-off lid. This aspect is of course normal, although the act of actually screwing it on and off can be tricky for some of these and some more than others. What I really don't see the point in is the flip-top that is also included. There is a dome-like flap which hinges over the screw-top, and there is a little hole in the middle. So, it's basically as though you were to drill a hole into your lid and then place a stopper on it. I think the point is to just dip your brush in there, but I am rarely able to find brushes that will fit. And when I do, the use of the hole isn't convenient as it is hard to remove excess from the brush in this way without it going everywhere. I recommend simply ignoring that feature and twisting the lid on and off. Other than that, the packaging works just fine, just be cautious with opening the lid in the screw-off manner so as to not get shadow everywhere.
Consistency and Finish:
I've tried every single eyeshadow in this line, and I can say that they are pretty consistent. Worn alone, there will not be much colour/coverage, but if worn over a base or wet, colour payoff is quite great. These offer the most coverage used wet, as shown in my swatches above. They all contain very fine shimmer, which doesn't make it gritty, and they are a bit on the powdery side. They blend very well, and are quite versatile: they can be used sheer or heavy, and are nicely buildable. For optical colour, apply with a wet brush. They can be a bit tricky to apply completely even when wet, but I have this issue with some of my other expensive loose shadows. Either way I'm still able to get a very clean look regardless of how it's applied. They have a nice shimmery finish, nothing too over the top, but it would be nice if they offered a bit of dimension with the shimmer - they all seem to just use basic silver/white shimmer.
Wear Time:
With a base, these wear no different than all my other shadows. This is definitely the biggest thing with loose shadows, you need to use something that they will adhere to or apply them wet if you want longevity and pay-off in colour.
Bang for your Buck:
Prices will vary, but they are generally within the $6-$8CAD range for 2.5grams. I've been using these shadows since around 2005, and I still have a few of them that I'd originally purchased then close to half full. If you use only a few shadows or wear the same look often, these may be used up quicker, but they are definitely well-priced for what you get.
Final Consensus:
These are not amazing by any means, but they are definitely a great line of shadows to check out. Annabelle was the company I used when I first got into makeup, and their Golden Pink and now-discontinued Chiffon shadows were the first two I used for quite a while. A nice small set of shadows to look into if you are new to makeup and would like to experiment with a few different types of colours without spending a lot of money, or great for long-time makeup wearers looking to branch out into new Canadian lines.
- Pros: Nice finish, longevity, easily accessible in Canada, easy to apply, nice colours, good pigmentation (depends on how you apply/bases)
- Cons: Might not be opaque enough for some, small number of colours, not much diversity in shimmer-use, weird packaging.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Price: 1/5
Packaging Quality: 3/5
Would you buy this product again: Yes.

I typically don’t like pigments/loose eye shadows of any kind. I’ve found them to be messy, with lots of fall-out, and just a general pain to use with results I could get more easily from a pressed shadow. While I can’t say that I’m a complete pigment convert, I do enjoy having a few of these around to experiment with. The reason I bought one of these is because I read about how pretty Golden Pink was, so when I saw it on sale along with a bunch of other Annabelle stuff I wanted, I figured why not take a chance and I added it to my haul. I really fell in love with the gorgeous golden sheen and with some practice, the texture became easier to work with. Nicely pigmented, very very shimmery… Try using these wet – the lasting power is really good!! I’m one of the few who actually like the packaging… the brush I usually use to apply it fits perfectly inside the hole and I can scrape off any excess product without wasting any. My one complaint is the small colour selection… all shimmery brights and no neutrals or dark colours. After liking Golden Pink so much, I returned and added Chiffon, Azure and Cool Mint to my collection. They’re all nice colours but Golden Pink is still my favourite by far. I’d definitely recommend these as a cheap alternative to MAC pigments for beginner pigment users such as myself, but even the more experienced should have fun playing with these.

I have 2 shades golden pink and azure. Not a fan of the gold pink tone, even though it gives a very pretty swatch, it doesn't work on the face because it's too shimmery and doesn't show up on the eye that much...
but I the newly bought azure (blue) is so pretty! It gives a pretty shimmery blue swatch (no irredescent of a different colour)! Even applying it dry on the eye it shows just about the right colour, haven't tried it wet yet but it'll be even more prettier with intensity.
The price is alright $7 at regular price. But I wouldn't consider picking one up till it goes on sale at $5... but lucky enough I got it for free because the person at shoppers forgot to scan this before putting it in the bag, and i walked out without knowing till later. haha lucky me.

I have every color of these pigmented loose dusts except mint green because I'm afraid it won't work well with my warm tan skin tone and I have to tell you, they are FABULOUS!!! I like using them wet for smooth application and intense color. My faves would have to be pink gold and solar, so beautiful. But really, they're all so great, go buy them.

OMG this is so gorgeous. I was a bit skeptical buying it because it was so cheap I didn't think it would have much staying power or pigment. Oh man was I wrong...the colors just pop and have incredible staying power. The packaging is a bit messy but there is a LOT of product in the tub and a little goes a long way. Can't beat this for the price.

So I have this little Annabelle Eye dust collection here. Icy Violet, Prism and Cool Mint. Frankly I want them all! Tonight I spied a display of what may just be 3 new dusts. Solar, a blue pigment(did not catch the name) and Limelight. I snatched Limelight and I am so happy. It looks like a khaki green shimmer in the pot but when I applied it, it flashed golden, slight bronze and a faint green shimmer. Utterly beautiful. Really makes my hazel eyes pop! Purchased Solar and I love it! A stunning golden beige! Same pesky little pot but such a beautiful colour! 5CDN and I am sold!

I love these, I own all but the yellow one and am searching for the 3 new LE ones that are out now. I don't mind the packaging, I have the Sephora crease brush and it is a perfect fit for the hole in the top. The staying power isn't the best, but I wear over a base, and they last for an evening out, but probably would not last an entire day, I have not tried that. Edited 03/04/06 - I found the new colours, they are even better than the originals, last longer, and brighter colours

I love these eye dusts! Beautiful colours and great prices (although I've never bought them full price, I always find them at warehouse sales). My only complaint would be the lasting power, but for the price they can't be beat. The packaging was quite annoying in the beginning, but I've gotten used to it.
