Samoa Silk is on the way out (it's on MAC's goodbye page) so I immediately ran out to buy it even though I wasn't sure it would work out. It's a nice matte peach leaning toward orange (Arena is more shimmery, lighter, and it seems like a softer colour) and shows up well. It looks very neutral and work-appropriate for even the most sober of offices under glasses on the lid, and plays well with Arena. With browns on the lid and Samoa in the crease I think it adds some warmth and brightness.
I think it looks great with my green eyes and cool-toned skin though some of its effect is subdued by the spectacles.
Edit: make sure to use a primer. It faded within a couple hours without one when I was just testing the colour.

This is a lovely, wearable peach. I was lucky enough to find it at a CCO while traveling. I like wearing it in the crease when I feel like changing things up. No complaints here!

I really love this color. It goes with so many shades. I espicially like it with sable. Because sable never really worked for me. But with samoa silk it does. Goes well with greans too.

Samoa Silk is a nice matte peachy color for those with tan to dark skin. It goes on smoothly and pops quite nicely on my skin. I like using it with a matte brown shadow in the crease and black gel liner for a simple retro winged liner look. Those with oily lids will want to apply a primer, though, because if this shadow creases, it will crease orange instead of staying the nice peachy color that it is.

On my lids, this color comes out to a bright peachy orange color. To me, it leans more on the cool side. Wouldn't repurchase.

I'm on the fence with this one. While I like the colour in the pan and like the idea of SS, it's never quite delivered what I wanted. The texture seems off for a veluxe; mine is quite hard in the pan and I have to really work to pick up a decent amount on the brush. Because of that I seem to go to from 'barely there' to 'ORANGE' really quickly. I've recently picked up Pollinator and I'm much happier with that colour pay-off.

Love this peachy orange shadow. The texture is so smooth and silky, blends like a dream, has a matte finish, and on my fair complexion I find it quite pigmented. Pairs well with many different crease colours. Some of my personal favourite crease colours to pair Samoa Silk with are Embark, Espresso, Mystery, Brown Down, Corduroy, Handwritten, Folie, Cork, and Brown Script. When I hit pan I will repurchase for sure.

This is my all time favorite eye shadow of all time for neutral looks. At first glance it looks a bland but when applied to the eyes it brightens the eye and makes you look more awake. I pair it with texture or swiss chocolate in the crease. For as more dramatic look you can pair it with a dark purple in the crease.

I've had this e/s for about 2 years and never paid much attention to it until recently. I'm going through a natural/no makeu-makeup phase, and I think this is perfect for that. A light not shimmery peachy tone, really pretty.

Looks beautiful against my nc40 skin. A light peach colour. Good pigmentation and amaaaazing texture! Like butter, almost melts into your skin- in a good way! Love it so much I put it in my 'everyday quad' (with vanilla, ricepaper and typographic) give it a go! I really recommend it!

LOVE this colour! I was hesitant after reading the reviews, because most of the ones for fair skin that I read didn't like the colour on them. But like the previous reviewer, I just couldn't stop thinking about this colour so I had to buy it!

It does look a pretty bright orange in the pan, but it comes off on my lid as a nice peach colour, which is exactly what I was looking for. So far I've tried it with:

- Samoa Silk on the lid, Satin Taupe in the crease, and Orb beneath the brow
- Samoa Silk on the lid, Shock-a-holic in the outer V, Satin Taupe in the crease
- Samoa Silk on the lid, UD Covet eye liner
- Samoa Silk on the lid, Sketch in the crease

Those are some of the ones I've tried, but there are definitely many more that would be beautiful! I'm excited to try Samoa Silk with lilacs and other purples. The texture is just amazing, I adore MAC's Veluxe textures. Go on very smoothly, and the colour pay off is nice. You could build up on this if you wanted, but one layer is perfect for me.

Will definitely repurchase!

I love this colour!!! It looks pretty orange in the pan and I was a little apprehensive when the MUA showed it to me and swatched it on her own hand. She had a much lighter skin tone than and i thought that it was way to bright, so I left it. But I kept thinking about it and went back the next day to buy it and haven't thought twice about it. It totally neutralizes my eyelid and it's the perfect no makeup look for me. And the texture is suuuuuper silky, I can;t get over it... Loving Samoa SIlk!!!!

Samoa Silk's best feature is its texture--buttery smooth. However, the pigmentation could be bumped up a bit. On my GGG skin, it is very subtle. I need a minimum of three applications to make it show up. It is excellent for the barely there, natural look similar to MAC's Tete a Tint. I use Samoa with Rule or Saddle and some colored eyeliner. Other than being a good partnering color, I really don't see any use for Samoa Silk.

PROS: Love the "veluxe" finish. Like buttah. Blended and applied very smoothly. No shimmer, which is a pro to me. I thought this would be too orange or bright on me, but if I applyiedlightly, it's a gorgeous wash or crease color. (I'm N15, leaning to NC.) It's a light cream/orange. MAC calls it a "Polynesian Peach."

CONS: None for me. I would think this would be too warm/orange for those that are cool-toned.

APPLICATION TIPS: I have upper lids that are slightly hooded and I have to put a neutral color on my crease. I need a color that isn't too dark and makes me look more hooded, but also isn't pasty which would just makes my "hood" stand out more because of it reflecting too much light. I can use "bamboo" or "Samoa Silk" for this. This is slightly more bright and has a bit more orange than "bamboo."

****My Samoa Silk looks slightly lighter than that first pic.****

In the pan it looks very orange but I was pleasantly surprised when I put it on. Nice pale coral colour and a lovely neutral shade on the lid when I don't want to dazzle. I don't think it would show up a lot on a darker skin but it suits my pale beige colouring and grey eyes really well. It's not an exciting colour but I think it will become one of my staples.

I only use it as a highlight for the brow bone. It really doesn't do anything for me. It barely shows on my skin. Thinking about adding it to my Swap list. But don't think I will be buying this again. Not really for me.

I actually like Samoa Silk, its a really nice peachy nude matte eyeshadow. I use it as an eyebrow highlight and on the lid. Its a good color for blending out any harsh lines and is a color that is a close match to skin color. I would recommend this for blue eyed girls, because it has an peachy nude tone. This is a good eyeshadow for everyday/neutral look. Works well with Saddle, Cork, and Soft Brown.

Definitly too orange for my taste. I expected this to be more of a peachy-beige color, but it just screams "ORANGE" on my lids. Blech! I saw this on a MAC face chart and the eyes looked really pretty with Samoa Silk on the lids. It looked like a nice neutral, but, boy, was I fooled. Sometimes eyeshadows look a different color in the pan than they do on the lids, and I was expecting that to be the case with this one... only it wasn't so. If anything, this looks more orange on my lids than it looks in the pan! Horrible, horrible, choice I made- now I gotta go beat myself up over it... :oP

creamy corally/beige with slight sheen.. it is a veluxe and thus is very finely pigmented.

beautiful color for anyone especially if you like neutral shades with a pop. Also try this color with deep purple in the crease -- you will be surprised at how your eye color jumps out.
