Considering my age, my skin has a good texture, but I struggle with redness due to rosacea. So concealer is my #1 priority in make up. My second priority is a good medium to sheer foundation to apply over the concealer to kind of blend it all together and look finished. My favorite was Cargo's powder foundation, but my Ulta doesn't carry it anymore. A helpful SA guided me to LORAC, which I had never tried before. It's a little pricey, but it's turning out to last a looong time! After metrogel and moisturizer, I brush on cream concealer to mask redness, then use the sponge to press on a very light layer of LORAC wet/dry powder foundation. I let it sit for minute, then brush lightly in a downward direction with a kabuki brush. The finish is semi-matte, and it lasts a good 6-7 hours without a touch up. I've been using it for 6 months, and have a little less than half left. Works for me!

This is definitely NOT worth the almost 40 bucks for this powder. Its WAY too expensive for what it is and it really isnt much of a foundation. I could barely get a light coverage out of this stuff and when I tried it wet it looked terrible and just sunk into my pores and clogged them. Im taking this back to the store asap.

I dont recommend this at all. Too bad too because they had very light yellow based shades which are hard to find. Oh well..the search continues!

I have used bare minerals for a few months and it was a pretty good coverage but it was easy to look too cakey and also made my face shiny. I initially went into sephora having read reviews about Urban Decay's surreal skin mineral makeup with the intention of purchasing it. However, they were out of my shade and the lady working recommended this for my sensitive acne prone face. Being impatient and wanting a new coverup, I went for it. At 36 bucks a pop, this is so not worth it. I've had 6 dollar makeup cover better. It is shhheeeeer, and I wanted something with a heavier coverage. If you put it on with the sponge, it cakes but with a brush it does not cover anything...I just cannot win. Also a part of my face itched all day after applying...I'll be returning this tomorrow.

I usually use Merle Norman Luxiva powder foundation, but decided to try something different. I have oily, acne prone skin, large pores, some redness and acne scarring. This went on smoothly, didn't look chalky, and the color match was good for me. But it didn't have good lasting power, and it seemed to make me even oilier than normal. It looked like my face was misted with water, that's how oily I would become, regardless of how many times I would blot my face. I returned this, and am sticking with the Merle Norman. Now, THAT is a good product for me in terms of coverage and oil control.

I use this over my MAC studio fix and it really gives off a nice, matte finish. It doesn't have that super-powdery look that clings to every little tiny hair and pore on your face. All I need for this is a big brush and a light hand -- the included sponge can be a little too much if it isn't used correctly.

I'm a huge fan of Lorac and they proved to amaze me with this powder, I use it over my Lorac liquid foundation just to set it. I love it, it stays on all day and evening.

This was a rip-off. Turned orange on my face but even worse, it didn't go on evenly. It was horribly noticable around my nose and forehead. Maybe it works for some but to me it was garbage and I through it out. Shouldn't have strayed from my Bare Escentuals.

I wanted something to help control the shinies...and this is NOT it. I haven't tried it wet, but have gone through a whole compact with it dry, and it doesn't really help with oil control. I'll try something else next time.

I can't say enough great things about this product. It really works for me. I walked into Sephora one day not having a clue about what powder/foundation would look good on me, and there was a really nice SA that gladly said she'd help, and this is the one she picked out. I bought it a few months ago, and still feel the same way about it ever since. I am not going to brag, but I am blessed to have great skin. This product totally gives my skin the finish it needs.

Great product! It comes in my shade WD 2.5! It is not overly yellow. I am pretty neutral and hate too much yellow! I use this to set my liquid foundation or by itself. Other powders the colors tend to be a little off and I can't wear them on their own. The coverage is moderate, but when I pop a little concealer on when I need it I have no complaints. This powder blends well, doesn't crease or feel heavy.

I'm really dissapointed with this powder foundation. This is for people who prefer a dewey-sheer finish. It's has no oil-control and sheer-to-none coverage. It's best for people with near perfect/flawless or dry skin. My skin looked a nasty greasy mess in photos! I'm going back to my Chanel DPC immdediately.

Positives: The powder is very refined and silky smooth. The Tan color I got could possibly be used as a bronzer. SO maybe not a total lost of 35 bucks. Still though.. I have other better bronzers that cost less and could perform better than this as a powder foundation!!!

The LORAC wet/dry oil free compact powder works really great for me because it does not have harsh chemicals that irritate my skin. I am currently on retin a, so right now this makeup is the only thing that feels comfortable on my skin. If you have sensitive skin and don't like to wear heavy powder this is great.

I do not like this product at all and will definitely not buy again. It is very chalky and has poor coverage. If I wasn't so embarrassed I would return it to Sephora. Definitely a waste of $35! There isn't a lot of product, so after 2 weeks I am almost out of it. This is basically a face finishing powder, and not a foundation as the coverage is so poor.

I wear Shade W1 (Porcelain) and couldn't be happier with the shade, tone, texture, and coverage of this product. (I always find it amusing when reviewers "can't imagine" whose skin a shade might fit. Some of us *are* that fair-skinned. In fact, LORAC's powder/foundation is the only powder/foundation that suits my fair skin. Shiseido's Level 100 comes sort of close. MAC's Studiofix works but breaks me out like nobody's business.) The packaging is cheap, but I don't think that's particularly important if the product works. And work it does. I start with a good layer of sunscreen/moisturizer and press the powder/foundation with a sponge onto reddish areas around my nose and mouth. I then dush a light layer of the powder with a brush over my skin. I touch up throughout the day, but the product never looks cakey. SPF would be an added benefit, but its absence won't prevent me from purchasing again. UPDATE: Two years later, I'm still using this stuff and have never strayed. And the packaging is still terrible :)

im not impressed with this at all. it is hard to apply, and the finish isn't that natural. the only good thing is it didn't break me out. but i'm not prone to paying 35 bucks to get a mask looking face. still returned it.

I really wanted to like this product as LORAC is supposed to be good for sensitive skin. I thought the powder was great as a powder but needed to wear a foundation under it. My problem are the terrible colors. I usually wear the lightest shade and occasionally the second lightest shade. The lightest shade is this color is so light and I can't imagine who could wear it. I look sickly with it on. The second shade is dramatically darker and very yellow. Something in-between would be great. If LORAC actually developed a color that would match my skin (NC 20 or PX cream)I would use it again. But for now, I have to pass.

I wasn't too happy with this powder foundation. It has a dry texture but does have a silky feel. Shade 2 was a pretty good match for my NC20 skin, however the finish was a little too dry (talc is the 1st ingredient, Nylon-12 is the 2nd). The worse part about this powder is it made my skin itch. Sephora.com did not mention that this has SPF, I've found from the ingredients on the compact that it contains Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamte and Benzophenone-3. Most likely I am reacting to the Benzophenone (aka Oxybenzone) because I have sensitive skin that does not do well with Oxybenzone.

Ingredients:
Talc, Nylon-12, Lauroyl Lysine, Octyldodecanol, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Dimethicone, Benzophenone-3, Zinc Stearate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Isopropyl Lanolate, Methyparaben, Calcium Stearate, Propylparaben, Dehydroacetic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Tochopheryl Acetate, Butylparaben, BHT, Sodium Hyaluronate
May contain: Bismuth Oxychloride, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides

I have normal/oily skin and this product seems to not only control oil, but improve my overall complexion (not one breakout in sight and that is rare for me!). I use this with Fresh concealer and I am good to go. Plus I like the fact that it is ultra-natural looking, the color does not turn orange and the product is not cakey and stays on the face ALL day long. Great product! BTW- I am a MAC NC-37 and wear this in #3.
