I bought this product specifically to compliment colors on a dress I wore for a special occasion. The color payoff is great however, I find this is pretty hard to blend. If you make a mistake with this VERY bright blue it will be hard to correct. But this is a very unique shade, sometimes too unique because I don't reach for it too often.

This product may come out greeny-bluey on your skin.
It has a nice color payoff in general, and is a silky texture.
It may be hard to work with, since the color is.. so deadly bright. But it's easier to work with than.. electric eel, I think. The texture is easier to blend out.

I like this color, but I'm using it sparingly since.. it is discontinued.
It's great with neutrals or other brights.

Mix it up! :)

I love this color, it's one of my favorites that mac has ever produced. I tend more toward vibrant colors, and this one really pleases me. The only problem is that the color doesn't have much staying power, but that's what primer is for.

Truly beautiful.
I use this alone on my eyes with no mascara. It reallybrings out the green and it has a brightening effect because it is blue and it makes the whiltes of my eyes look whiter and bright.
I line this around my eyes and dab it on with my finegrs so it goes on lightly.
In the night I build up the colour with a brush.
This makes my eyes look gorgeous and somehow makes my eyes look like they have a bit of blue in them.
It is so beautiful and looks natural when on the yes rather than scary in the pot.
As it is matt like though more satin it has staying power and doesnt look like makeup as it does not cake.
This is lovely for a natural eye brightening look and will look espcially great on blue and green eyes.
I hope they never discontiune this pretty colour.

I adore this color and have no idea why it's getting so much hate here. Something tells me that the people who couldn't blend this were using the wrong brushes. This shadow is extremely bright and pigmented, so you need to be able to blend it out so you don't have harsh lines.

I know jewel blue has gotten some bad reviews, but I love it! I've found the texture looks great with shimmery shades, like Going Bananas from C-shock LE MAC collection. I've found that packing the color onto my 217 brush and swirling it in the lid gets the color into the brush well, and then is easier to apply. Since it is such a bright color, I like to make a small triangle shape in the corner and blend in. The shade is a little hard to work with, but if you play with it a bit, you can find a good way to apply it.

I love LOVE bright colours, so when I bought this I thought I'd have so much fun with it. However the colour is so sheer that you have to pack it on, and its very hard to blend, could be described as chalky. Anyway its a blue based turquoise and I'm convinced I can't wear blue eyeshadows so I mainly use this as a liner, it looks very pretty with a hot tan but on the whole I wouldn't buy it again.

I hate this shadow. The color is so pretty in the pan, but there is NO color payoff whatsoever. No matter how many times I swipe my brush in, no color shows up. I wish I had returned this, it's hard to use, hard to blend, payoff is crap, you just end up with a chalky mess. Horrible quality. I would not buy this again. I'm glad it's discontinued, no color this bad deserves to stay in the MAC line-up.

and even with primer, the color just did not last at all, and creasing was also a huge problem, almost impossible to blend too

I just find this shade so beautiful!!!! The blue is very unique. I like to use it to line my eyes, but then I have a hard time controlling the amount of pigment I use. This looks very similar to the Fluidline in Blue Peep however, so I prefer the latter for lining.

I got this in a swap with Vythien, and I love it. I see it's gotten quite a few bad reviews, but this is one of my favorite colours. I apply it with a medium brush and it sweeps on wonderfully with a little work. It's a nice shade of teal, and although I usually like a bit more shimmer in my eye shadow, it makes up for that with its POP factor [bright colours are my addiction]. Here's how it looks on me [top lid]:

Although this is a beautiful colour in the pot, I just cannot seem to make it work for me. I've had a little bit of difficulty applying it, but mainly the colour just doesn't work well for me. I wish it did though! What a gorgeous colour.

When will I ever learn that I have enough blue eyeshadow! Not only does this shade sit on my drawer collecting dust, but using a brush with it SUCKS. If you really want the shade to work for you, use a sponge tip applicator, it's much easier to apply and it goes on much more pigmented. I'm not longer in a bright shadow phase so I won't be repurchasing. It's a very cool blue shade, and very bright!

I don't know what possessed me to buy this shade. It's the kind of shadow that jumps out at you when on a new collection tester stand, and that's exactly what happened when I bought it. I used this bright sea bluegreen (does that make any sense - I'm shying away from the word teal in this case, because teal in my memory is flat, and this is bright) perhaps a total of three or four times. These days, my preferences for makeup don't call for these kind of shades, but this was so pretty in the pan I definitely became a sucker for it. If anyone wants it...

One of my favorite colors! It looks really nice when you blend Swimming with it all over the eye, it helps this shade be more blendable and even. Another favorite for me is to brush Jewel Blue all over my eyelid and outline the entire eye with Coppering.

When I first saw this color I bought 2 of them in case they were LE. But after trying this color/formula I am sorry I even bought one. The color in the pot is a deep aqua bluegreen color. But this veluxe formula sux and when applied with a regular e/s brush it shows up as light blue with a hint of mint green. Horrible. Maybe if I used mixing medium it would come out the way I was hoping, but I rarely wear this color now. I don't wear bright colors in general anymore. So I will be swapping my extra pot I bought.

Jewel Blue is this very beautiful deep turquoise color. The texture is soft, and it is very pigmented. When I line my eyes (both top and bottom lashes) with the eyeshadow, my eyes would suddenly look much larger.

I had to buy this just because of how it looked in the pot, a beautiful light bluish color. Its texture irritates me though, its so hard to get this stuff to show up right, but when it does its extremely flattering and pretty.

MAC's Veluxe eyeshadows are very soft, so they tend to go on sheerly but they can be layered to achieve more intensity and depth. This is not a problem for me. It also helps if you use an eyeshadow base. It always does. I really, really love Jewel Blue. It's similar to Electric Eel, but not so in your face with all the blueness. This is a very aquatic, tropical turquoise color. *I heart this.*
