So I went home from school this weekend, and behold my luck...I forget my shampoo and conditioner. Not wanting to drive 3 hours back to retrieve the bottles, I tore through my linen closet and found two sample sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner of this brand. Ugh. The shampoo was bad (already reviewed that) and the conditioner ceased to do ANYTHING. I put a larger than average amount in my palm, and it only spread through half of my hair. I basically used the entire bottle and it STILL didn't cover all my hair. When I rinsed it out, my hair didn't feel all silky smooth like it normally does after conditioning. It just felt dirty. When it came time to blow dry, my hair was a dried out, poofy mess. Never using this again!

another pantene product that i love but discontinued in my country. this thing really did made my hair BIG and POOFY. i love it, ppl envied myhair and i ddnt need any styling for it! :D

I know it's discontinued, but I was clearing out my endless supply of half-used bottles and came upon this. I love the smell of classic Pantene products. I used this with another discontinued Pantene shampoo (Breakage Defense) and my curls were gorgeous! They were so shiny and they laid nicely. They're both used up now, but I was surprised at the results I got.

I don't really like it - my hair feels coated & tangled after using it. Also, I don't see much in the way of volume. For example, using a volumizing shampoo + applying my regular conditioner from about the ears down gives better results than this stuff.

Wow! I am amazed how well this product works. I usually use only salon products, pureology, enjoy, and fekkai are my favorites. On a recent visit to my sisters I tried this conditioner and amazingly my hair was shiny, manageable, light and flowy, and styled so well. For the price of this product it works amazing. However, I have only used it a few times, and from the reviews it seems that it builds up after a while, so I will be alternating every other wash with a salon conditioner. It also did not strip my hair color. Great conditioner for the price!

This product (along with the shampoo) works amazingly at first but later left my hair heavy with buildup. So I guess if you are using this shampoo you should try to take regular breaks between continued usage AND intersperse with a clarifying shampoo.


Another concern that I have with Pantene in general is that it may cause hair loss. When I lived in Scandinavia this was pulled off the shelves for precisely this reason. However, the fact that it is still a popular brand in the rest of the world may mean that it only causes hair loss to those with very fair hair and pigmentation. A few years ago I began to use Pantene shampoo and conditioner exclusively and my hair is definitely thinner than it was before that. I'm not balding or near there, but there is significant reduction in volume and everytime I combed my hair an unusual number of strands would fall out. I'm not sure if this was due to the use of Pantene products alone, because for the past 2 to 3 years I have been straightening my hair with my GHD around 5 times a week. However, I can say that now that I have stopped using Pantene exclusively (while still using GHD 2-3 times per week), I don't get the same amount of hair loss when I comb my hair. I will not be repurchasing this in the foreseeable future.

I used to use this everyday and it worked well for a while because it made my hair all smooth and nice. However, over time, my hair felt heavy and greasy and found out it builds up in your hair which probably made it feel heavy and flat. But it works really smoothly. It makes your hair really soft and easy to brush through after you use it. It's rich and thick when you apply it so that's what makes it good. It's good if you use it once a while, but daily, I wouldn't recommend as it does begin to build up. Other than that, it's pretty good. If you have ultra tangly hair, I'd say get it.

This review is for the new formula~I really like this. It moisturizes my hair just enough, without any weight. Combs through easily when wet.

I've used this for the past 5 years and it's obviously great. I'm so lazy picking different ones out so I picked this one and the companion conditioner. I've recently tried it -just the shampoo -by itself. Didn't really do much. But with the conditioner, and using both everyday, has actually made my hair thicker. When I rinsed, I couldn't pull my fingers through as easily. I think people aren't liking it because they use this by itself or with another brand's conditioner. I've always used this shampoo, this conditioner, everyday. Persistence always get results. However, I do wonder what they did with the formula -since they changed the packaging and look and etc. I'm getting a weird notion it's not working like it used to, but then again, I've started using L'oreal's royal jelly conditioner along with this.

Does not add volume, and in fact, I feel like the next morning my hair is flatter than normal. Not hydrating, not volumizing...I'm really not sure why I'm trying to finish this bottle! Doesn't do a good job of detangling either.

I bought a large bottle of this from Big Lots for around $6.50. It is the 33 oz. bottle. Anyway, my hair has always reacted well to Pantene products so I figured I would try this. I really like the scent and it spread over my hair easily. It also rinsed easily. Afterwards my hair was full and shiny. Great product and would repurchase.

overall: i use this in combination with the sheer volume shampoo and it's the best shampoo/ conditioner combination i've used for my hair. i use it only on my ends. it's light, but very moisturizing and smells great. it does have a lot of synthetic ingredients, which i don't like, but i've tried to switch and i always come back to this. it just works extremely well.

i think this product is fabulous! my hair used to be really flat and dull but now it has a bounce and wave to it! i've also noticed my hair being slightly softer. obviously good conditioners will leave a nourishing coating in your hair so that it doesn't get in knots and isnt dry all the time. just rinse a little longer if you really feel the need. however i think its just great: the packaging is so cute and elegant, and my hair and scalp feel just as clean and alive as ever.

So in order to compliment my review on the Shampoo to this set, the conditioner is what I believe does most of the work. While I definitely have longer hair and I go through this stuff like crazy, it's because it works. It even works wonders on hair that's been colored. Doesn't leave it dry and rinses clean away with out the weight. Those of you with thin hair that have had "weighted down" conditioners trying to make your thin hair fuller and shinier know exactly what I'm talking about. If you haven't given this a try, I'd say it's well worth the time and money to do so.

It leaves a very noticeable film on the hair. I think it leaves silicone or something coating the hair. It did add texture, like a styling product would, and that did make it look and feel fuller. But it felt greasy and heavy, and my scalp felt itchy and not clean. Would not repurchase.

I have been complaining that my new haircut has left my hair looking flat and dull. I started switching up my hair products to see if something I was using was to blame and I realized my cut is fine, it was this conditioner that was the problem. My hair holds no curl, falls limp and is oily looking in an hour. I will not repurchase and am throwing away the 1/2 full bottle I already own. I don't know why I occasionally purchase Pantene products because this is always the result.

I once compared the ingredients of all the Pantene conditioners and found that they had all the same ingredients, listed in the same order, except for the Sheer Volume conditioner. But that was a long time ago, when the Pantene line actually smelled nice, not like the intense dryer sheet smell most Pantene products have nowadays. So my review applies to the old school Sheer Volume conditioner. This one is/was slightly lighter in consistency. It detangled my hair nicely, and left it glossy and manageable. But now that it smells all funky, I've moved onto the Restoratives line, so I won't be repurchasing again.

My favorite! I've been using the Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for many months, and I love it! I really do notice a difference in the volume! (I'm not sure if this is from the shampoo, or the conditioner, or the combination of the two?) My thin, flat hair has never looked better...it's now fuller and looks much healthier! It really conditions well, and my hair doesn't get tangeled or messy as easily as it did with other conditioners.
