My review is for the original guru scrub. It smells exactly like orange sherbert and the scent lingers. Philosophy created it to outperform other salt scrubs on the market at the time. The texture is very thick. The scrub warms up when applied to the skin, and it is an incredible exfoliator. This is one of the best scrubs of all time. Sadly, it has gone to beauty heaven.

The guru set is back. You can find it on Philosophy web or amazon. I just bought a set 'cause I ran out of my gingerbread man scrub and could not find it anywhere but in this set. Personally, I prefer the scent of gingerbread man but margarita scrub is invigorating especially for a hot day (though it tends to be somewhat artificial). The texture is also thicker in gingerbread man. Both smell the way you would expect them to smell, a pleasure to use for sure.

This has been discontinued, but I loved it. Smelled soo damn good and really exfoliated my skin without drying my skin. I love philosophy's packaging. It was also one of my first purchases from sephora when I was younger. I wish they would bring it back!

I really like this. Great scrub, nice smell. I think I prefer Gingerbread man tho. Its a very effective scrub. Not too abrasive tho. Leaves me feeling clean and fresh.

Why oh why did they discontinue this? It was my *favorite* all-time scrub for prepping my skin for self-tan, since it leaves no grease or oil behind and was great at buffing off those dead skin cells. The best part, perhaps, is the fab bright color. But its awesome, refreshing 'Tang' smell is what really makes it irreplaceable--right back to the orange-stained lips of childhood in one whiff.

A fabulous scrub overall. I love the orange scent, which is good because it can get kind of strong in the shower. Leaves skin very noticably softer (the bf proclaimed, "Wow, your skin is extra smooth" after I had used it for the first time, and bf's don't usually notice things like that). One tub has lasted me for about a year (using product on legs two or three times a month).

Nice scrub to use on feet. Just be sure to moisturize when you are done. Love the citrus scent. Will purchase again.

Holy smoke batman - whats all this about another body scrub wanting to take The Gingerbread Man's crown?
Well its true, TGM is all about scrubbing and sloughing and whilst I love it, my loyalty (for this week, anyway) will be going to Guru - its just a more summery scent (citrus stylie) and I'm sure the granules of exfoliationary ability are softer. As with our friend, The Gingerbread Man, I wouldn't advise using on dry skin - too harsh and not softening enough

This is almost identical in texture to their Gingerbread scrub and their Amazing Grace scrub. The scrubbing particles are pretty jagged, so it does an excellent job at really exfoliating. Also, this smells like oranges!! I use this on wet skin weekly and it makes my skin feel so clean and refreshed. This scrub seems a little more emolient than the Gingerbread scrub. One of my favorites that I can't be without!

I have been wanting to try this scrub for ages but never got around to picking one up. I heard that it was being discontinued so I popped in to Sephora to see if they had any left. Well, they didnt. They had two testers though. One had obviously been opened but the other was still sealed. I just peeled off the tester sticker from the barcode and bought it. Hey... all is fair in love and beauty!

Anyway, I really like it. It made my skin really soft and luminous. I am deducting one lippie for the sticky sweet orange scent.

I am going to miss this product dearly, as philosophy has discontinued it. I love the fact that it was an all-around great scrub. I haven't tried the Grace scent yet, but believe it will work just as well. I prefer the citrus scent of the guru however, and have found that it can still be purchased on eBay (and I thought I saw it on Amazon - one left!)

I have to say - it doesn't measure up to Gingerbread Man scrub! It does a nice job, but doesn't warm up at all and I feel the Gingerbread man leaves my skin softer and more exfoliated and more moisturized. As far as scrubs go - it's nice though. If I would have tried this one before G'bread I might have been more impressed.

I got this free from Drugstore.com and it works great. Skin is left very smooth and flake free. However the scent is not the greatest and in fact smelled just like Triaminic. It's an aritificial and overpowering orange smell that fortunately doesn't last. I would definitely consider another philosophy scrub in a different scent.

I love this scrub and just finished the whole tub. It left my skin really smooth after shower without the greasiness I found with ORIGIN SALT SCRUB ( hate this!). I did not purchase another tub of this and instead bought the GINGERMAN scrub to try, the SA told me the only difference is the scent. Have yet to try the gingerman though.

I was a bit leery of trying this product because of past dreadful experiences with Origins oily and messy salt scrub. Much to my surprise, Guru isn't greasy at all. In fact, I find it exfoliates my skin so well that on some days I will forgo moisturizer altogher. Guru has a heady synthetic citrus scent, but I soon got use to it. Now I find the fragrance very refreshing. Another plus is that it rinses clean and won't stain the tub or shower. At $25 for 20 oz, this product isn't cheap, especially if I'm using it daily. However, I feel very pampered when I'm using this product, so it's well worth it IMHO.

The first time I used this, it didnt help my skin at all (maybe b/c I hadn't exfoliated my arms for 6+ months). But the 2nd time, it made my arms soft and smooth. I havent tried many scrubs so I can't say how it compares to others but for now, it'll work. And it'll probably last for a long time since the tub is so big (it's not exactly a cheap price either). Also, it smells great--like oranges and doesn't make a big mess like the crappy Origins one used to. I think the key is to rub *very* gently in a circular motion, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Wow, I'm in love!! I just received the Guru body set and I can't believe that I waited so long to get this scrub! Not only does it smell great but it leaves my skin feeling SO soft!!! I know that the Philosophy scrubs are a bit pricey but you get a ton of product, 20oz for $20 if you were to purchase the scrub. This will really last you a long while so I think it's worth it. Huge rave from me!! :o)

I loved this product. I hate citrus-y smells but this was not a strong scent at all. The orange color didn't get all over my tub, there was NO grease, and it more than did its job as an exfoliator.
I'd definitley buy it again, but it's going to take me a while to use the whole tub! (yay, because there's nothing worse than getting a super small container of scrub and using it all in 2 showers/baths!)
The only drawback, I'd say, is the price..it's pretty expensive. I'd try to get a sample of this before buying, if you're not sure you'll like it.
