I am not impressed.
I rated it 3 lippies, and my lack of success was not because of my hair. My hair works well with practically every product, and does not get greasy or frizzy easily. Sorry glass, it's not me, it's you.
Before I joined MUA, I was using a different reviewing site that didn't always have the most knowledgeable members...which lead me to the decision of purchasing this serum.
All I can say is that I am so thankful I bought the $10 travel size bottle, rather than the $30 bottle. Because this stuff is just so mediocre.
It's not bad. But it's really not worth your time.
O Glass Serum, let me count the ways you disappoint me:
1. It doesn't make your hair that shiny. I've had drugstore shampoos that give me glossier hair than this product does.
2. It doesn't smell that good. It doesn't smell awful...it just kinda smells like an old man and hairspray
3. It costs $30 for 4 ounces.
4. You have to dispense the product into your hand in the squeeze bottle way. This means its near impossible to get all of your hair evenly treated, it's easy to pour far too much out and it's hard to put back in, and it gets all over your hands.
5. It tends to weigh hair down
6. It's easy to overdo....hellooo grease!

Do yourself a favor and pick up Garnier Fructis's Brillantine shine spray, it costs half the price and gives 5 times for shine. Actually, just pick up any other drugstore shine spray, because I guarantee it will be cheaper, more effective, and less messy than this product.

This is a pretty good product to use before or after flat ironing.
I have mainly been using after I flat-iron to keep my hair in place and to keep it smooth and to stop frizzing. I have also found it to be good if it is already on your hair and you need to use a flat iron for touch ups etc - the flat iron glides through your hair.
As people have said before - you don't need to use too much as a little goes a long way (thank goodness as it is not exactly cheap).
The only thing is it doesn't really have a fragrance, but then that could be a good thing when you don't want it to clash with your shampoo/conditioner. I would definitely repurchase.

Great for finishing flat ironed styles. Gives a good boost of shine and makes dry ends look polished. Best thing for taming flyaways! I have had the same (small) bottle forever, as I only use a drop or two at a time. Will repurchase, but probably won't have to for years to come.

This product can't be applied with a heavy hand. My coarse, thick, frizz prone hair becomes soft, super glossy with the just-came-out-of-a-salon look. Too much or too close to the roots makes it become overbearing in a hurry.

I'd perfer a pump, as i tend to make a mess using this.

Awesome product for a reasonable price. Every girl should try it.

This stuff isn't bad. I only use a drop or 2 after styling with a straightener to add a little bit of glossiness. It can be really greasy so it's crucial to use only a little. I go for my ends first then move upward. It isn't cheap, but I've had the same bottle for so so long that I don't even remember how much it was. I guess I would get this again, not sure when that will be though!

My mother used this on me when I was a child and I still have it to this day. I have fine, mostly straight hair, but a TON of it, and for some reason it will just NOT STAY UNTANGLED. If I didn't use conditioner, I would be pulling out hair by the handful trying to brush it out after a shower. As a little girl, I would scream when people tried brushing my hair, until Mom started using this on wet hair. Just use a drop or 2, even on long hair, and don't put this anywhere near your roots unless you want to look unwashed. Other than that, this detangles like a dream and makes the frizzies go away, although it would take a miracle for me not to have SOME frizz.

So in love with this product! My hair is naturally curly and super thick but when I flat-iron it, I use this stuff and it makes my hair sinfully shiny. I apply a little less than a dime-sized amount while my hair is damp, then I blow-dry with a round brush. I flat-iron and then for the finishing touch, I rub three drops of Glass in between my palms and lightly run my hand over my hair. It cancels out all the frizz and gets my hair looking very glossy. I recently dyed my hair a dramatic blue-black and this product makes it look stunning. HG!

This didn't reduce the frizz in my coarse, dry, frequently-dyed hair at all. Even though I applied only a tiny amount as instructed, it just sat on the surface of my hair creating an excessive oily gloss.

This one has done nothing spectacular to my hair, but at least it hasn't done anything bad either. The anti frizz - shine properties only last a couple of minutes.I used it both on wet and dry hair, wavy (natural) or straight (flat ironed), no difference at all.I am still using it like a silicone for split ends, but I still no wonders. I haven't experienced any oiliness,or hair weighting down but my hair are very dry to begin with and its so fluffy it needs dumbbells to weight them down.At least the bottle is huge.you get a good amount of product for the money you pay.anyway hope others had more luck with this. After this bottle is over I' m going back to Kerastase silicone drops.much better!

I got this product pretty cheap at a hair show ($4) though normally it runs for about $12. It is a really great shiner and helps keep your hair a bit moisturized, though I do prefer Vinyl Glam to this product. It's a decent anti frizz serum as well.

I naturally have oily roots, but don't find this product to contribute to any of it. I bought this to help control any "frizzy" ends and "fly-a-ways" and it works great. It doesn't feel heavy or extermely greasy. It seems to hold all day and adds a natural looking shine.

Overall, I've been pleased with it for all 7 months I've been using it. I will continue to repurchase as needed.

I love this Glass 01 serum. I have been using it for about a year now. I have tried other similar products but go back to Redken's Glass. My hair is fine and gets weighed down easily. Plus, I don't like products in my hair at all. I like the clean feeling. This makes my frizzy, dry, over processed hair look brand new. I use a small amount on my wet hair and it helps with tangles during blow dry styling with a round brush. Then, I use a really small amount on my hair after blow drying as a pomade and it just looks shiny and like NEW hair. Nothing compares to this stuff. Also, the small bottle lasted almost a year and that was using it every day, so it was totally worth the $17 at CVS.

I've been using this stuff for at least 10 years & I think it is the best serum out there (I'm a hairdresser, so I've tried a lot of them). It isn't greasy & you can keep applying it as needed w/out build-up. It works great on damp hair before blowdrying as well as on dry hair for polishing. I wish it came in a pump, though, instead of a screw top. Overall, I love this stuff & will CRY if they ever change or discontinue it.

I have very fine, thinner, long and color processed hair. My stylist gave me this product to seal up my ends (ends only!) while styling. I have used this wet, and find that it doesn't have the same effect as using it dry. Used wet, on the ends of my hair, my hair does behave better, and the ends don't seem nearly as crunchy. However, used dry, I think the product works better. After I blow dry my scalp, and dry my hair 3/4 of the way, I apply about a pea sized amount in my hands, rub it in, then pull my hands through the last 1/4 of my hair length. It really does a nice job of sealing up the ends, and making my hair LOOK healthier and shiner. I don't get the same "shiny" effect when I use it wet. I won't go anywhere near my crown w/this...then my hair won't hold any kind of style. Since it's the only pure silicone product I have ever used, I cannot compare to any other brands. But it does work well, should last a looooong time for me.

I have thick, course hair, and this is the only silicone product that doesn't build up on me after a couple of days. For me, this is a light gloss that reduces frizz and makes my hair behave. It leaves my hair feeling clean and manageable. Works really well mixed with Biolage gelee.

TOO MUCH will make your hair greasy, but if you do it JUST right, it will be perfect and is especially perfect for my new short hair, allows no frizz to get thru for a long portion of the day! awesome =) *expensive* but awesome.

I have fine hair, well, i normally use chi silk infusion or biosilk silk therapy. Honestly those 2 products works wonders on my hair BUT i found my hair, mostly my ends are more dry. I guess its cause all of the ingredients they have. As ive been using other products the glass bottle was hidding in my bathroom with no use. I decided to give it a go again, my hair doesnt feel like silk but it does the job. Looks smooth, no frizz and shinny. I checked the ingredients and comparing to other serums this one has less chemicals, so i guess that has to do with it ¿?. At least this doesnt dry my hair...

Citre Shine and Smooth n Shine both will do the EXACT same thing for about $4.00 from Walmart (hair care aisle not salon)...All of these products contain silicones which is what's doing the job...If you read the ingredients you will see cyclomethicone and/or dimethicone. Believe me - I'm 43 and I've tried just about everything and if it'll work on my ancient hair it'll definitely work on yours! :))

Meh. This was not great on me, I hardly noticed a difference. I have very thick, almost-straight hair with some frizz. I put it on when my hair was wet (and tried it damp and dry too) and I honesty I thought I could detect a little bit more softness and shininess, but not enough to make me keep it.

However, when me and my friend were in Costa Rica her thick and curly hair was going crazy. She used it and it worked great for her to eliminate frizz and keep it straight, so I'll give it 3 lippies for that.

One note: If you put this on dry hair you will get little spots of greasiness right where it is applied. It will be very hard to apply to your whole head.

I wouldn't buy this again, but I gave it to that friend and she loves it.

This product was just "ok" for me. I had really high hopes for it as I paid a pretty penny for this but it seemed pretty average to me. Maybe this is more for those with fine hair rather than course hair because this just didnt do enough for my thick course hair. It did calm down some of the random fly aways though!
