I bought this toner after reading rave reviews about it. It's very gentle, but I don't feel like it picks up all residual dirt that my cleanser misses. However, while I was using harsh cleansers that dried up my face, this toner did help reduce the dryness.

For the price, I'll pass. If you have sensitive skin, this would be great for you. If not, there's less expensive alternatives out there.

Its good when your skin is inflamed or sensitized.

It really helped to control my skin when I was still having mild acne. My skin has more or less cleared up now. Only having a slight pop up now and then.

So I have not been using it much as there isnt much of a difference in using it or not.

Good when your skin is reddish and irritated, otherwise, a very pricey toner.

This was so expensive but irritated my skin as if it had alcohol! My skin was red upon application and remained red and in the end I couldn't stand it anymore and washed my face again. Did not find it calming in any way, my Simple toner is much better than this in calming my sensitive, acne prone skin.

17th May Update

Ok, I changed from my original one star to three stars. When I used it last time I had an allergy and wanted it to calm my skin but it didn't work. My skin has calmed down now and I tried it again. It feels comfortable on my skin but it doesn't give any spectacular effects.

I used to work at kiehl's, and new employees are given 5 products gratis in addition to being allowed to take home products to try. Kiehl's wants employees to know their stuff, which is great! I chose this toner as one of my gratis partially due to the fact that it was $60 (big bottle, few years ago--not sure on price now,) but it also was suited to my combo, clog prone skin. It's very gentle, and the lack of alcohol is awesome.

So why only 2 stars? First of all, I've found a much better alcohol-free toner that is way cheaper, easier to find, even more gentle, and multi-use. Thayer's witch hazel, with rose. The most aggravating thing about this toner, for me, is how grossly inflated the price is. My manager said it costs about $0.30 to make the calendula toner. Thirty freaking cents, and they charge $60 (again, this is the big bottle and price from a few years ago). I understand ALL companies do this, I really do, but really! It doesn't even contain any active ingredients, like glycolic or even plain old salicylic acid, to justify the cost. It's a very basic toner with a very high price, and I encourage you to check out thayer's alcohol free toners instead (I get mine from vitamin shoppe for about $8, but it can be found cheaper online quite easily.)

So yea i guess i kinda cringed a little with the price even for the small one since i want to give it a try first. Although words cannot describe how much i live this toner. It helos with my flaking area and at the same times doesnt make my normal areas oily. It also calms redness and any coming pimples.
Price worth the quality. Definitely HG

Help! :(

I don't think this product did my face any justice (so far?)
I have been using it for a week now and my face is still red & blotchy! And it seems that I have had a few more spots since using this product. Can someone tell me if the effects take more time to show? :( coz it's so expensive...

I have to be honest I was attracted to this at the first sight because of the floating flowers in the bottle. It is a good toner, very soothing, hydrating and claiming. I also love the smell of the toner. In the summer I actually use it as a hydrating mask by soaking paper mask or cotton pads with this toner. I don't really see it does anything to the oil T-zone or enlarged pores, as it claims, but I do find an improvement on my skin texture. Also, my skin tends to have less breakout while using this toner and even I have occasional blemishes, they become much smaller in size and I rarely have the rock-hard spot anymore. The only thing that keeps me from using it long term is the price! It is at £34.50/250ml or £50/500ml. I mean, it doesn't even cost that much to buy some of their serums! I guess I will buy it on and off when I feel like a little bit of a luxurious treat or when I am in the duty free!

I never wanted to like this because of the price. It is 49$ for 250ml in Canada which is ridiculous, if you ask me, for something that doesn't claim to do much. And yet, I found myself buying a bottle.

I'll be honest. I wasn't very impressed with this stuff when I tried it because it didn't seem to do anything, but after giving it a try for a few months I came to love it. This is a product that my skin seems to welcome when its feeling a little under the weather. Its that simple. Its like comfort food to the skin. If my skin is irritated, dry, or just needs a pick me up, this is the perfect thing to put on. My skin feels instantly comforted and ready to take on the world. It absorbs well and feels moisturizing. Moisturizers/serums seem to absorb better with this on, it calms irritated skin (reduce redness/inflammation), it does not clog your pores and it does not interfere with other products. It doesn't seem like much but this toner has definitely earned a spot in my skincare shelf!

Usually, toners are a waste of time for me since they are well perfumed water in a plastic bottle. My cleansers do a fine job with cleansing the makeup I hear.

HOWEVER, this one is really special. I've used it this for a week now, and it helps me speed up the recovery from my acne breakouts (that occurred before using this toner).

The huge cystic bumps on my face flattened out and inflamed areas became normal again. I don't even use an acne cleanser anymore, so I thank this for it.

=) I'm very happy with this toner.

I never had high hopes for toners but this product changed my mind. I squirt a little on my palm and apply it straight onto my face after cleansing. I didn't use a cotton pad as guided because I think it's a waste of it, since it is quite expensive. It absorbs very quickly and preps my skin for moisturizer. I love how my skin feels after.

Quite undecided about this product. It seems to be very gentle and soothing. I don't think it has done anything to mattify my skin, but I think if you are on a very harsh acne treatment/ whitening treatment/ anything that is harsh and severe on your skin this is a good bet.

It calms the skin. Smells semi horrifying though, but it disappears after a it dries. Good for flaky skin or dry skin, less so for oily skin. If you have very oily skin try the rare earth toner instead.

im using the second bottle and it is good for spring, summer but a little bit not enough hydrate for autum and winter. Usually I won't choose a pricy toner so I bought this from duty free shop and I got the largest one. It could remove any residue from your skin and get your skin ready for serum and cream. For now I didn't see any other improvement to my skin but I will keep using it until I find any new product. This is the product I will buy when I have no other new product I wanna try.

One of my all-time favourite toners. Does its job of balancing my combination skin. Smells like chrysanthamum tea though.

It's smell so nice.. but after two weeks used this toner, I found no difference with my skin, I even noticed that my pores in cheek area are more visible than before. And also the price is quite expensive.. Maybe it doesn't compatible with my combo skin..

Best thing about this product is that it doesn't have alcohol, it is the only toner that hasn't dried my skin out, and the only toner I have ever liked. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is maybe there are other alcohol free toners that are better because this is the only alcohol free one i have tried. Calendula also combats redness, which I need and likeand it's all natural and organic. I would reccomend this to anyone, but they give out samples at nordstrom so of course always test it first to be sure.

I purchased this toner after receiving sample and reading the reviews from mua..When applying this toner, my skin feels comfortable and cooling. The smell remind me of a local drink (chrysanthemum tea) and sometimes it makes me wana drink it..lol..maybe it is an alcohol free toner, that's why i am very comfortable with it. The cooling sensation made my combo skin feels great and refreshed every application. However the price is a lil bit expensive but the "organic" characteristic has made it worth the price.

Update: I don't find this toner useful for calming oily-comb skin because i had breakouts everywhere and they had never been better since i start using the toner. Usually it heals fast. Will never purchase because it is not valued for the price!

This product was good in the sense it didn't harm my skin.. which is what I like about Kiehl's.. if they dont do you good at least they dont cause major damage.

I have combination oily skin and I didn't notice any reduction at all in my pores, neither did it seem to help in any of my skin issues.

It goes on matte, is good for oily skin, but doesn't smell that great or cause much improvement from my experience
