I am a fan of Stila eye shadows. I prefer them to most other 'prestige' brand eye shadows. I find them to be of superior quality and generously sized. That being said, Sun turned out to be an unexpected surprise.

In the pan, sun does not wow me much. If it wasn't for the fact that I got this in a combo set, I probably would have passed it over. I think the set it came with was called smokey browns - or something of the like? It came in on of the older, generic silver refillable compacts without a label. It came with 3 other neutral shades.

For reference, I am fairly light (between NC15-20, 25 when I tan) with yellow /neutral undertones, brown hair and hazel/green eyes. This color goes great with my coloring.

It is not too orange, but not muddy or boring either. It has just a small amount of shimmer, no where near the shimmer of the infamous kitten. The shimmer is just enough to give a glow about you, but it does not come off as frosty/glitter/pearly/etc. It's a true bronze, not an orangy or coppery bronze. It has quite a bit of gold to it, and a slight bit of a pink/peach sheen when blended. It's just warm enough to make my eyes look super green, and just shimmery enough to 'light up' my eyes.

For me, this is a perfect shade for that 'barely there' type look. It's so simple, yet dimensional enough that I can use it as the only eye shadow. I like just pack it on the lid, and blend into the crease so it fades away very subtly. Sometimes I will wear black or brown liner, but often I just put on mascara and I am done. It looks so clean and pretty. To me this really is that perfect beachy-bronzed goddess look. I love it in summer, when I usually sport a more natural/minimalist look anyways. It not often I come across shades that make such great stand alone eye shadows. I often pair it with Java, a stila matte shade, softly smudged into the lash line.

For darker, or more involved makeup looks, this also makes a good blending shade in the crease, or would make a find lid shade for a smokey bronze eye.

The texture of this is good. It might not be as buttery to the touch as some other shades, but it applies and blend effortlessly. Very high quality, still, and does not crease or fade, even when I am too lazy to use a primer. It goes on smoothly, and is nicely pigmented. It can still be applied sheer or built up, making it very versatile and easy to work with.

This is my favorite Stila e/s so far. I am actually on my second pan. My skintone is fairly neutral, but with yellow undertones, and pale. I have hazel eyes, and this color complements them well. I don't get any orange or very much pink in this, but I think that's a matter of skin tone. My red-headed friend tried this, and I didn't even recognize it on her. For me, this is a calmer, easier to wear version of kitten. Side by side, the two look similar, with sun being darker. A swatch test shows that sun is quite a bit more pigmented, though. Still a light shadow, however, definitely for the lid. Sun is sparkly, but much less so than kitten or starlight. Sun's sparkles are smaller. Also, sun doesn't have the terrible frostiness of kitten and starlight. I love sparkles, hate frost. Sun is what I wanted kitten to be: an easy all-over wash, for when I want to just get out the door quickly. But it also plays really well with other colors for a more "done" look. Sun goes beautifully with twig in the crease, or rain. I also love it with dark green/olive liners.

I love this shadow! I recieved it as a gift which had a duo (sun being one of the shadows),a kajal eyeliner in onyx and a full size major major lash mascara. I love this color because it is so versitile. I can quickly sweep it all over my lid and up to my brow and it's a beautiful wash of color. Or, i can pack it on my lid with a brown in the crease and it's my go to everyday neutral eye look. It has lasted me almost a year and has great pigmentation. The shimmer is excelently fine and even throughout the powder.

A darker version of "Kitten" but a little less powdery light looking, so it can be worn alone and works nicely for those days you're in a hurry. Matches well as a base with darker warm colours in the crease. Very easy to blend.

My only complaint is the packaging; there isn't any! You literally need to purchase a holder for their eyeshadows. Ridiculous!!!

But all in all, its worth the extra money. Stila shimmer eyeshadows are so pretty, and the quality is stellar.

This eyeshadow is so pigmented, and this particular one called sun is just gorgeous! It is a really pretty champagne-y color with a tiny hint of bronze and it's perfect just all over the lid or with other eyeshadows. It's like a darker version of kitten, and it really works for my skin and it's just beautiful!

This is a GORGEOUS shimmery peachy nude pale bronze colour with a hint of pink in it. Complements ANY eye colour and like many Stila shadows is very soft and easy to blend. Really loving this shadow for a quick, easy day look.

i do like this eye shadow but i don't think that i'd buy it again. it's a beige with shimmer, so it's pretty plain. it has great staying power when used over a primer or paint pot and i don't get any fallout of shimmer. i don't see me running out of this since i have so many other colors i prefer to use, but if this neutral works for you, i think it's a very well made product. i think it's similar to MAC soba but with more glitter/shimmer.

I'm NW20 and this eyeshadow works for me.
I've had it for some time, and never used it, I had some application issues with it in the past.
I decided to try it with my UD Primer Potion, and now I LOVE this shadow. I put it on my lid, and I use Bobbi Brown Nude Beach or Nude Glow under my brow bone. The combo looks great. It makes my small ultra dark brown eyes look larger and lit up.
Others have also noticed it on me, and complimented the colour.

This was a sub par color on me. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, per say...it's just bland on me. And this is coming from someone who loves neutrals! I couldn't make it work. I would feel more comfortable walking out of the house with no eyeshadow than wear this.

This e/s came in the Brown Look palette I bought at Costco. It is a peachy pink shimmery shade. It's too pink for my skintone to use as an all over base color, or highlight. The only way I like to use this shade is in the bottom inner corner of my eyes, because it's not too white or too warm. People compare this shade to Kitten, but IMO even though Kitten is too frosty and light by itself, I can do more with it. I can mix it with a matte e/s or layer other e/s over it.

I bought this because I really like Kitten. This eyeshadow is NOT the same consistency as kitten. It is a lot more powdery (Kitten is almost creamy). A lot of product is wasted because when a brush is swiped over the top powder crumbles off. This color is very similar to MAC All That Glitters, and IMO All That Glitters is a better choice--althought they are almost the same color, ATG is shimmery without being glittery, while I can see the glitter in Sun (like a MAC Lustre).

This is a lovely peachy shimmer, very pretty unusual colour. Looks lovely as a highlight worn with Mango eyeshadow.

This is a beautiful color but it doesn't work for me. I have yellow-undertones so this turned orange on me but I can see it looking great on other types of skin. btw, i'm not a fan of stila eyeshadows as they are way too shimmery and doesn't blend well.

beautiful colour. Not too red, nor too orange like many "bronze" shades tend to look on my NC45 complexion. Very natural looking, with decent staying power.

I really like this bronzed yellow shadow. It's a cheerful yet sophisticated color. It looks more gold/yellow/bronze than peach on me. My eyes are deep set and, though I do have a crease, I inherited these folds over them from my dad, so you can't see my crease. Eyes are also very dark. This shade on the lids, with something slightly darker (like Puck) on the spot where I would have a crease if you could see it, makes my eyes look really pretty. I knocked off a lippy for the packaging because you have to buy a palatte (seems Stila has done away with the cardboard container for singles) or just use the little platic sleeve it comes in.
This shadow is really soft and creamy. And if you have dark eyes and can wear yellowy shadow, defintely give this a try! I so wish Stila would make some less shimmery versions of their fabulous colors. For reference: fair/medium skin w/green undertones. dark hair and eyes

This looks gorgeous on my eyelids but unfortunately due to my very oily eyelids creases terribly. It fares far better when I actually have time to put on some primer etc.

The reason I gave it 5 lippies is because it works as an awesome highlighter on cheekbones and browbone. I just sweep it on lightly with a brush and it gives me a lovely bronzey/gold sheen on my NC44/45 skin. (more suitable for night time).

The packaging could be better - not a fan of the cardboard and would prefer a clear lid to see the product colour and also perhaps a flip-top lid for ease.

Unfortunately Stila receives a ridiculous mark up in Australia so I purcahse online.

As with all Stila shadows this goes on great and stays on great. I do like this color, but only during the summer when I have a tad more artificial color on my pale complexion.

This shadow gives my eyelids a lovely bronzed effect with a touch of shimmer. It's one of those shadows that I can happily wear on it's own without a crease shade or eyeliner. Great staying power and goes on smoothly. A really flattering shade to brighten up your eyes.

This is the first eye product i have ever hit pan on. This for me is amazing as at last count I had over 150 eyeshadows.
I LOVE this eyeshadow. It is a gorgeous peachy bronzey shade that looks amazing on my NC30 skin. For reference I have very dark brown almost black hair & dark brown eyes. This colour looks so natural on me I find myself reaching for it everyday. I incorporate it into every look. When going for a bold lip look I wear it as a light wash with lots of black mascara. For a more glam look I wear it over my lid with a colour like twig in crease. I bought myself a back up of sun after only using it for 1 week. I hope this doesn't get discontinued!
