My husband uses this as a body and face bar. He has oily skin with acne all over. This bar has cleared his skin considerably. The acne is rare now, and the oiliness improved. Difficult to use in the shower because it melts so easily, but worth the trouble. The scent is citrus, like 7up or Sprite, pretty refreshing!

WOW!!!! I have never had any troubles with my face... Until now. It's like this past year my face finally decided to grow up and produce a super oily forehead along with about 10 tiny pimples at any given point (sometimes with a larger one or two)! Gross and something I am NOT used to! Tried Lush, Murad, Arbonne, Philosophy, BE's line, you name it... AND THIS IS THE WINNER!!! The first time I used it I noticed the tiny pimples drying out!! With everyday use, they are disappearing and I am so excited. This bar is CHEAP and will last forever. I like that it's a bar-- I bring it in the shower & when I am done I take it out right away. A tiny bit lathers a lot so I know it will last forever! Leaves my face squeaky clean, NO residue, and STAYS clean. It is drying, but (since I haven't found a great moisturizer) I just spray some toner on and so far, so good. I love this bar. TRY IT!

I am in love with that soap. First time i tried i did not expect anything but during the lunch time i touched my forehead and OMG it was NOT oily, can you imagine after first use? That is really amazing i am not oily anymore after this soap bar.

I love this bar. Cheap, with a nice light scent, it foams well, cleans well, and seems to be curing my constant acne problems. It can be slightly drying but moisturzer solves that.
Thank you, thank you, Basis.
PS - For those who think it's annoying that it comes as a bar - just get an adorable little soap case. Solved it for me because now I store it in a drawer.

Keep in mind when you read this, I was using benzol peroxide (sp?) at the same time and that may have contributed to the dryness. I should have known to use a more basic cleanser if I'm using bp. Anyway, I didn't like this b/c I found it to be way, way too drying. Maybe as a body wash or in place of any other acne treatment or for extremely oily skin, but not for me. I highly recommend the vitamin bar and the cleaner clean (hg!) cleansers from this brand.

I decided to try this product because I get occasional acne on my cheeks and don't like products with salicyclic acid in them because they make my face redder. I was pleasantly surprised by this little clear bar. It doesn't leave a residue and leaves my skin feeling really clean, smells light and fresh, and so far it has helped with some of my acne. It does dry a little bit but if you use a good light moisturizer it is all good. The only thing I find inconvenient is the bar itself. I wish they would make this in liquid form in a handy little pump bottle.

Well, I bought this product on accident, I was supposed to purchase the sensitive skin bar. Anyways, I figured I'd give it a try since my face breaks out around a certain time of the month (if you catch my drift). I tried it for about two weeks on my face in the shower and noticed that it didn't really do much. Although, when I tried it on my back ( I also suffer from bacne 'back acne') it cleared up significantly. Because this product was so drying, I used cetaphil as a moisturizer on my back after I cleansed. So to sum things up, it didn't work on my face so much but worked for my back!
*UPDATE*
After the bar had run out, I went and bought neutrogena's (if thats how you spell it) grapefruit clearing body wash and it worked so much better. It left my skin clean but not uncomfortably squeaky ... and cleared a whole lot more too!

RavenBeauty turned me on to this stuff, and it's pretty amazing! I was having weird breakouts on my cheeks (it started after a bad waxing earlier this year, so idk), and nothing was working. This, plus Dermalogica's overnight clearing gel has made those breakouts stop. Now, if only I could make the red spots left behind by the breakouts fade faster. :(

This bar is very good for acne-prone skin but the downside is the dryness is causes, especially around the mouth and eyes.

A neutral, effective bar soap for those with normal-to-oily skin.
It smells strongly of tea tree oil and something else that vaguely reminds me of floor cleaner, but not unpleasantly. I did find that it lingered a bit - When I rested my chin on my hands about a half-hour after using it, they still distinctly smelled like the soap.
It does leave my skin feeling clean, without feeling like there's a residue the way that it sometimes feels when I use the cream face washes.
I bought it for $1.50, about half-price, and feel that I got exactly my money's worth.

This is good if you use it sparingly, like say once a week. It was fine and did control some of my breakouts when I did that. But then I ran out of my regular face soap and had to use this all the time. After a week it made my face red and dry and very sunburnt looking.

This is the first thing that I've ever tried that actually seems to be curing my cystic acne that I've had for over a decade. I am allergic to BP, and salicylic acid never worked consistently. Apple Cider Vinegar did nothing, as did the asprin mask. Finally I decided to take a straight-up antibacterial approach to fighting my acne with this bar. It contains triclosan and tea tree oil, which are strong ingredients but powerful antibiotics. And I have been free of new acne for over a month.
Because this bar IS very drying, and I am afraid to put moisturizer on my face, I only use it at night, before bed. I rub it on my face for a good 2-3 minutes, to make sure the triclosan is on my face long enough to work. I then rinse and apply straight up tea tree oil to the areas of my face that are prone to breakouts. I occasionally will replace the tea tree oil with medical grade chlorine bleach, which also works well.
I've been free of new acne for over a month. This bar is a miracle for me.
EDIT: Ugh!! I was so close!! I have no idea what happened, but the acne just started coming back and the bar was never able to get rid of it. I have switched to Desert Essence products, and am taking this down to 4 lippies

I have acne prone, oily skin. I really like this little soap bar when I can find it. It helps a little bit with blemishes and oilyness and the smell is pleasant.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this soap. I have used so many facial soaps that I was about to just give up on them. I have very oily, sensitive skin that is acne prone. This stuff smells so fresh and clean. It leaves your face feeling wonderful and the lathering is the best I have ever seen...tons and tons of lather. No break outs and no bad reactions either. Great price...great product.

This is an average cleansing bar. It didn't dry out my skin badly, irriate my skin, or make me break out, but it didn't seem to help with breakouts, either. It has a nice, light scent.

I gave this product up in favor of more emollient cleansers. Even my oily, acne-prone skin gets tight and flaky with drying face washes like this one.

I love this stuff! It's the only thing I'll use to wash my face. I have combination and acne-prone skin. I use this along with prescription acne creams. It cleans my skin thouroughly but doesn't leave it too dry. It's also awesome as a skin-clearing body wash. I just rub a little onto my body pouf.

i use this every morning and at night to clean my face and not once have i had a problem with dry skin, even though my skin is normal/dry. there's not really a fragrance associated with the product and there's no filmy residue left over. it's great and perfect for every day use! (btw there's a lotion too that works wonders!)

Although this did help with the greasies... it did nothing but aggravate my blemishes and cause new ones. For someone who has very oily skin who is NOT acne prone... this might be worth a try.
