Love Stila shadows, don't love this one.

I like the color a lot- deep, smoky grey-black with flecks of bluish tones to it. However, it creases like crazy even with primer, and it flecks bits onto my cheeks constantly.

I wish it worked better for me, but I rarely use this shadow.

Pewter is a blue black shadow with a hint of silver shimmer. I am a Stila shadow devotee and bought this to try out the black/blue smoky eye with. Its on par with regards to the pigmentation but it creases a bit more than other Stila shadows (but I did notice that there have been changes to the formula, mine is around a year or two old so I have the older version).

The colour just doesn't seem to suit me and I find myself only really using this as a shadow liner applied wet instead of a kohl liner. I think this would really suit those with cooler colouring than myself.

Pewter is really something - I took a chance and swapped for this and I am REALLY glad I did. Pewter is a very pigmented, shimmery dark blue black shade. It blends very well and I love it along the lash line paired with warmer shades. It makes brown/hazel eyes look lighter. It's surprizingly easy to wear - I first got this thinking it was more of a going out shade, but it can be a great pop to a neutral look - I am wearing it with diamond lil today (which is silvery brown green) but I also enjoy this with warm tones like jezebel (an orangy pink bronze) and barefoot contessa ( a reddish plummy shimmer). Pewter is also not too dark to wear on the lid - it's just great! Get your hands on it if you can!

I mostly wear matte shadow. I like to line underneath my eyes with a metallic. This is one of the worst as far as getting little flakes all over my cheeks, no matter how much I tap on the brush. For all the inconvenience, it would be OK if the color looked great on me, but it doesn't. LM's pewter is a little greener which I like a lot more.

I just received this product in the mail today!! I had tried other Stila eyeshadows and fell in love with their creamy soft texture and knew that I had to have more...STAT! So I ordered Pewter as a result of the great reviews I saw here. I was alittle skeptical looking at it in the pan, as I didn't know how it would look on my skin. I am very pale with freckles, grey blue eyes, with a pink undertone. I thought it might make me look tired. I'm happy to say that I was wrong. I put it on and from the minute I lined my eyes with it I think I fell in love. I put Bouquet on as a base, then Kitten all over the lid, applying lightly. Then I used Pewter wet on my lid to line, blending up into my crease, then lined my bottom lash line with Pewter and BAM....instant sexy!! I have been looking for the right sexy smokey eye look and this is it. I could even wear this during the day if I wanted to and I could see myself using it with other colours, like silvers and purples. All in all I'm happy about my purchase and I think everyone should try this out...I think you'll like it!

Pewter is such a sexy color. It's a little dark for daytime, but blended out with Ecru, I can make it work. This would also make for an awesome crease or liner, making it super versatile. I am such a fan!

I love this color. I was concerned that it might look too blue on, but it is a deep metallic gray silver. Also it had great staying power. I used MAC Shoom as a base color and applied Pewter to the crease and under the lashline. Dramatic without being too over the top.

I got this in the Moonlight and Pewter duo, and mostly I was interested in Moonlight, but...wow. I think this could be my HG dark blue, not a true blue but a greyed one that someone turns a bit green next to my eyes, a little metallic, just beautiful.

Another fabulous Stila shadow. The color has been described below. I will add -- this is a very versatile shade. I have worn it to create a night-time smokey eye; but I have also experimented with it as a liner for an easy day-time look. Very, very beautiful on my hazel eyes and fair skin.

This is the perfect shadow for a smoky eye. It's not as intense/dark as a black shadow, so it's a perfect dark metallic gray for the smoky eye effect. The color is the perfect level of shimmer - not too glittery or sparkly but also not too subtle. I've also used it as an eyeliner (with a wet brush), which looks fantastic. If I want a little more staying power, I'll use black liquid eyeliner (MAC), then pat this shadow over the liquid before it's completely set. I don't think I'll ever run out of this shadow - I've had it for 2 years already and feel like I've barely made a dent - but if I do I will absolutely repurchase

***EDIT: They changed the formulation of this eyeshadow, and maybe all stila shadows. It is now too soft to make application easy. This dusts all over my lower eye area, making it extremely messy and a hassle to apply. A shame, since the color is beautiful.*** This eyeshadow is an absolute HG, a 10/10 for me. The color is a beautiful, dark, shimmery (NOT sparkley, glittery, or frosted) grey with a subtle blue undertone. The texture is extremely smooth, silky and easy to blend for a dark shadow. It is also very buildable, so it doesn't have to function strictly as a "smokey" eyeshadow. I wear it almost daily, alone with no other shadows, over my entire lid and crease, with no eyeliner and just mascara. The result looks great and is low-maintenance. The color complements my fair, yellow-based untanned skin and dark brown eyes very well, and the lasting power is pretty good considering I have very oily eyelids. It lasts REALLY well if you use a base (I can go to sleep in it and have it be almost perfect when I wake up). I bought this shadow over five years ago and only recently had to repurchase it, so it's definitely a good value. Leaps and bounds better than drugstore brand shadows in more than a few ways.

I chose Stila based on the excellent reviews here, and I was not disappointed. Pewter is a beautiful rich gunmetal color and it lasts all day. It looks great with my brown eyes and tan skin. It looks great as a liner, too. It is well worth the money. I bought the single aluminum compact for it.

This colour is such a winner. Bought this to replace a cheap eyeshadow I've been using for smokey eyes, and it really is worth the price (although I still do wish it were cheaper). While it does have a slight blue undertone, I can still pull it off, even with my NC25 Chinese complexion. I usually use this with my Silky Girl Smokey Sparks duo which has a lighter shimmery grey and a shimmery silver. Works a great smokey eye look for me. Love!

Pewter is another winner from Stila!!! Pewter is such a beautiful eye shadow, it's a blue based deep gunmetal grey with shimmer. It looks almost black in the pan, it's quite dark but don't let that stop you from trying it. It's so pretty! I love to combine it with for example Twilight (on the inner lid) and Shore (in the crease). I apply Pewter wet as e/l. It is fabulous to use as an e/l! But it can also work great, when applied light, as crease color for that smokey eye.

As always with Stila eye shadows the texture is amazing! It's very pigmented. It's so soft and smooth which makes it easy to apply. The lasting power is fantastic! I'd definitely repurchase! The only downside is the crappy packaging. However, I keep my Stila e/s in 4 pan palettes instead.

For reference: I'm a pale blonde w/ blue eyes.

Pewter is an absolutely gorgeous smoky blue-based grey with shimmer. I love to use it as a liner with a silvery taupe, like MAC Coco pigment, Cargo Yukon, or Shu ME 945 to bring out my hazel eyes. Wonderful smooth, silky, and pigmented texture that stays put all day. Generous amount as well. Pricey, but worth it in my opinion because the quality and color is much better than drugstore brands.

Pewter is my favorite Stila e/s. It's very soft with lots of pigment, and it's wonderfully blendable and easy to work with for a smokey eye or even for more subtle looks. It's also fabulous to use as a liner.

Pewter is a beautiful very shimmery deep gunmetal silvery grey, a shade or two lighter than Storm. The texture of this shadow is great, very blendable and soft. It's quite pigmented, but not as pigmented as Storm so you don't have to be quite so careful with how you apply. Also, you get more flashes of blue in this shadow than you do with Storm.

Great for a smokey eye, as a liner, or applied lightly in the crease with blues, purples, or silvers. I'd definitely repurchase.

This is one of the best,if not THE best, shadows for a smoky eye.A gorgeous very shimmery true steel grey with amazing blendability and a texture like silk.I love this and will purchase again and again.High-impact color without the harshness of black eye shadow, which looks like too much on me.HG.
