I don't know whether it's the way I apply it, but it always appears "heavy" on my skin. I guess after being thoroughly spoiled by the miracle foundation that is Colorescience Pressed Mineral Pigment, everything else seems inferior in comparison. Maybe I put too much on? The colour I used was "Mocha Silk" which is meant to be the third lightest on the range, but on application was quite light (in colour). It is currently a weekly special on their website for $18.88AUD (plus all their extra gifts) however it is not quite enough to entice me to purchase.

The coloring was really pale (both Vienna silk #21, Vanilla silk#13 for my NC20/25) This foundation did not emphasize my pores but it felt really chalky on my skin and made me look really old (and I really don’t want that). I was trying to use this product as concealer but it really didn’t conceal my dark circles nor sun spots like typical concealers would. I really don’t know what to do with it …

I am reviewing the color Medium Dark - I have not had enough time to wear and give an honest review. But, Mirenesse does such a bad job at explaining the colors they have. So I hope this will help those if you are looking at the medium dark. If you wear BE in medium tan or MAC NC42 or BB in Warm Natural the dark medium will pretty much match your skin coloring. But it is still lighter in color than those mentioned above. In fact I took my Emulsion compact to the mall and checked it out side by side with MAC NC42. Plus, on one side of my face I applied medium dark on the other side of my face MAC NC42, you could not tell which was which in color after blending in.
I hope this helps you in choosing a color. I will up date on coverage and wear at a later date.

I really wanted to like this foundation, as it is their best selling foundation and meant to give a dewy look. Well I have pretty normal clear skin, and this is the first foundation that has made my skin look worse than before i started. It sits in pores I didn't know I had (never happened with any foundation before). It was far from dewy - more powdery and cakey. I have tried applying it in different ways, etc with no success. I want to like it so much that I apply it inside and convince myself "yep it looks good", and then i take a mirror outside into natural light and eeek it makes my healthy normal skin look old and uneven.

Has everyone else who says they like it, looked at it outside??

Ive been using the Mirenesse Emulsion pact foundation for a while now, and have found it to be my favourite foundation from the entire Mirenesse foundation range. Good coverage and easy application and suitable for dryer skins.

Liquid Silk is more suitable for an oily to normal skin. Just a suggestion on the Liquid Silk foundation, always go one shade lighter in this foundation, as for some reason it looks a lot darker on the skin than the Emulsion pact. For example I am usually a Vienna Sik, but if I were to purchase the Liquid Silk, I would go for the Vanilla shade.

I've also tried the newest foundation in the range being the Velvet Skin Maxi Lift, and found it to be very disappointing. Not only didnt I like the look nor texture of it, but found it to be extremely expensive for the relatively small amount of foundation contained in the tube. That's if you can get it out of the tube! Extremely fiddly to apply.

Fantastic product. This is my winter foundation. Super, super light, goes on smoothly and feels great on my dry skin. I use this over a very rich daytime moisturizer and set w/loose poweder. Perfection. LOVE the spf.

UPDATE: 12/21/06 I read about the different ways to apply this product on the Mirenesse website. It claims to be a moisturizer also, so I tried it on my dry skin during the winter. It looked BETTER than when I used moisturizer!!! The product blends with your own oils and creates a flawless finish; it REALLY looks like you are NOT wearing any foundation. Now, it DID dry my skin out (the nose and cheek areas) when I did this for 7 days in a row. So, super dry chicks may not want to do that, but I'm telling you- what a difference. Beautiful results.

I love how this is a 4-in-1 product. Excellent coverage; PERFECT match; awesome dark circle concealer; lasts pretty well throughout the day and no irritation or breakouts. Great to travel with. Elegant packaging. I bought this from HSN at a fairly reasonable price. UPDATE 10/22/06: Now this has to be a cruel joke: I finally found a foundation that was a perfect match & the coverage was awesome. However, after using this product for little over a month, I started to develop large, painful, whiteheads on my chin & forehead. I stopped using this foundation about a week ago, and the acne has cleared up. Too bad because I really liked this foundation.

Very impressive looking package, and I really liked how the foundation looked when I put it on in the morning. It had a very silky texture and beautiful color (I used the darkest shade--the bronze silk). As the day went on though, it just began sliding off of my super oily skin. This did not work for me. I would recommend this product for those who have either dry or normal skin.

I find that this product is better suited to normal - oily skin as it has a tendancy to show up the flakies (but then in my experience most cream foundations do). It gives me a creamy/milky complexion and doesn't feel heavy at all. Unfortunatley my skin type has changed from being slightly oily to slighty dry now so I no longer use it as a foundation. However, it works really well for me as a concealer for covering up the odd blemish.

Great foundation ladies. I have 3 of the colors and alternate according to season or placement on my face. I have worked really hard on my skin for the last few years and at 43 am finally able to go without foundation and still feel confident about how I look. But there are times when I need to be more polished or maybe lighten up under my eyes a bit. This foundation looks natural, does not "crepe up" under my eyes, and stays put all day and into the night. I do have touch up my nose after a couple of hours, no problem, love pulling out the beautiful compact!

Nothing else comes closer to perfection than this foundation. It is THE HG for a flawless face that holds up to heat, humidity, hot flashes, wet weather and long days. Excellent coverage and easy, even application. It actually minimizes my huge pores. Most foundations lie or float on top of my skin and make my skin look dry, flaky, powdery or oily. Nothing else yet has a finer finish (and I have tried dozens). Vanilla Silk is much lighter when applied than it looks in the pan (as are the other colors) so I use the mocha silk for winter and the darkest shade for summer. The ONLY shortcoming of this product is that there are too few colors to choose from and the colors tend to be a bit more yellow than I need so I have to adjust with a bit of powder, blush or bronzer. Unfortunately this product is becoming harder to get. It appears that HSN is phasing this product line out. EDIT: After using this product for a couple months I started to get the worst acne of my life. Only Retin A got the acne to clear up. Back to my Kevyn Aucoin Foundation/Concealer.

I really like this product since I've got great compliments from my girl friends about how nice and natural my skin looks with this foundation on.
However, it does make me flaky. Actually it made me extremely flakey the first time I tried it. I had to apply moisturizer over it to get rid of the driness. However, I found as long as I apply enough moisturizer on my face before I apply this product, I do not get the flakes any more.
This foundation holds up for a long time and does not melt away. I do find that even though it is really dry when I put it on, I will still get oily after 2 or 3 hours. However, since I have extremely oily skin and have not found any foundations that do not do the same to me, I do not mind about it.
I did find that the foundation was easier to pick up and to blend and did not make me flaky in a more humid weather when I travelled to Asia last fall. Moreover, it still held well and lasted for a long time even in the humid Asian weather.
The price of the product is really good for the generous amount (13gram) you get. And I only need one swipe with the sponge applicator everytime I use it, so I can see that one purchase will last me for a long while.
The packaging of the product is superb. It comes in a golden case with a black velvet pouch. The compact is big and sturdy with a large mirror and a good-size and easy-to-wash sponge applicator.

This is a pretty good foundation...but you MUST apply it with the sponge applicator it comes with...any other applicator and you will get a really bad result (from personal experience)...i have pretty dry skin and this didn't accentuate the flakies for me...i think its probably they way you need to apply it...and don't apply too much! Otherwise it will look cakey....HOWEVER i found that my face looks absolutely PERFECT when i've just applied it....but after a few hours it doesn't look as good......personally i like liquid tinted moisturisers the best

Not impressed. Very disappointed, as a matter of fact. This makeup is worse than a cheap drugstore compact foundation. It goes on really dry, which makes it hard to blend---and if you have flakies, it makes them much worse. The weird thing is though, as dry it went on, only about 45 mins after I was wearing, my t-zone was getting greasy-looking!

I truly don't see where all the great reviews come from----I really had higher hopes for this foundation. Also, I purchased mine from HSN. They don't list the colors as they are listed on the Mirenesse website (there are 4 colors on mirenesse.com). HSN only lists them as light, medium, and dark. The online pic showed the medium as really dark, so I purchased the light. The light is actually Mirenesse color Vanilla Silk----and beware-----if you're not super-pale, don't get this stuff. This color washed me out and made me look ghosty----when I first put it on, it was so pale it looked like clown makeup!!

Overall, this stuff sucks.

Really like this foundation...it gives a nice finish with the sponge applicator. Sleek brushed gold compact in a velvet pouch. I bought vienna silk which, on its own, is very "beige-y" so I have to use it mixed with a warmer color from the new Clinique Superbalanced Compact...together they're perfect. Don't know how easy it is to get refills...I bought from hsn & they don't look to have refills for this.

After reading the reviews here I was impressed enough to order it from Australia (from their direct website). The shipping was fast and included a nice amount of samples. The foundation is great- as others have commented. It looks amazingly natural (I usually don't wear foundation because I hate the way it looks in natural light)- I looked in the mirror in the sun and love the way my skin looked!! It makes me oilier than when I only wear concealer and powder- but I experience that with all foundations I've tried.

I purchased this thru HSN shopping channel and got the compact plus a refill. This give me such a nice even skintone. I still have a shint t-zone so I apply powder there. It doesn't break me out and it lasts a long time. I use a sponge to apply. The color is perfect.

I am a PPP, combo skin and yellow undertones.

I received a sample of this through the website(generous amount I might add - plus several other samples). So, I can't rate the packaging.

As for the product...

Pros: natural looking, blends right into skin, doesn't fade, doesn't change color, waterproof.

Cons: price

First, I apply concealer to any blemishes. I then apply this, by brush, right over the concealer and it's flawless. I don't recommend using a little extra to cover the blemishes, it can look cakey. I also don't recommend this for someone who needs heavy coverage. This stayed natural looking all day, with no touchups.

I am not used to permanently spending this amount on any makeup(I have a tendency to test expensive ones), but I can see ordering this again.

UPDATE... I am noticing a very slight darkening of the product after a few hrs. I have also found that using the finger is the best way to go with this. I used the brush and way too much went on and it looked cakey. Also, I found it looks better applying the foundation first and then applying concealer to the blemishes, it holds better. I find the finish to be semi-matte(full matte can look masky sometimes). This gives a very natural look. Still impressed!
