Very average shimmery brown color on the warmer side (though I did not find it to have red in it). The texture of the shadow was not soft and did not apply nicely. It was gritty and scratchy. When I buy an eyeshadow, it's going to last me for years, so I don't mind spending twice as much on a shimmering brown from Burberry or Edward Bess, etc, that is going to last. Totally mundane imo. I like MAC, but this was a pass.

Personally I don't particularly like this shadow very much, it is a very average colour for me that I have used once or twice since I got it several months ago. It looks really brown and shimmery in the pan but once it goes on my skin it comes off a bronze colour which really annoyed me. Also the fallout it annoying and I was hoping to see some of its gold undertones but I didn't get anything like that. I have applied using several different techniques but it still remains slightly bronze on my skin no matter what I do, so for now I have given up with it. It also needs building quite a lot to see any of the pigmentation and doesn't last the whole day even when I used my HG shadow insurance. Would not buy again nor would I recommend.

Blendable, layerable if you want a richer smokier look. Great bronzey, gold, taupe color that goes well on my medium/fair rosey skin tone and with my green eyes. I have had this shadow for a few years now and kind of forgot about it until today. I just put it on in the outer v and under my eyes, with Shroom in the inner corner and brow. Brown liner on top lid and in waterline. Very quick look and not overpowering, yet it gave my eyes a very sultry look. Love it. It applies with such depth and silkiness and really is one of those eye shadows I call "transformative". Just does something to your eyes that other colors do not. Would highly recommend to anyone.
P.S. I didn't have any fallout problems with it. I think you have to apply this one in layers, because if you really load your brush up with it to apply, you could have some fall out issues.

I am a blue eyed NW10 (NW20 when tanning from a bottle).
This has so much fallout! : ( Also, I am disappointed in the shade. I was hoping it would be more metallically and shimmery, instead, it's more of a brown than any type of gold.
DUPE ALERT! I swatched it aside my Milani Powder Eyeshadow in Caramel Brown, EXACT DUPE for MAC Tempting. Even though Tempting looks more shimmery in the pan, it applied the same shade as Milani's Caramel Brown looks in the pan. : (

I love this! its a warm medium brown, with flecks of gold through it. I wear it on its own, through the crease, or as a liner and all work brilliantly. Has minimum fallout, great pigmentation, dream to blend and good lasting power. Def recommend.
P.s. As per usual with Mac packaging the lid broke off.

I am not an es expert.. i hav no idea how to blend, do crease, etc... i usually use es as just a wash n then put e/l. Tempting is a lovely browny gold on mem. Very sober, very nice. There is shimmer but it isnt bling bling on me. As someone mentioned below, i should try smoking it out with some black e/l.
Overall its a fab shade.. no other color is there as an undertone so it sort of goes with every outfit.
Yes i wid buy it if i ever run out.
Yes i highly recommend it if u r nc42 like me. :)

Tempting is a makeup of a medium to dark chocolatey brown base with gold shimmering flecks. online, this swatches as a dark shimmery gold. but in person you see that it's really much more than that. the shimmers are much chunkier and obvious, but it isn't glittery. it's also very clear in person that this eyeshadow has a dark base and a rich shimmering over-layer. because of that, this is an extremely enriching and dimensional colour.
i also feel that this doesn't have any orange tones in it. this is my 1st and only Lustre finish.
i highly recommend this eyeshadow!

MAC Tempting is a beautiful browny bronze. It is a lustre but applies well and looks fab on the lid or crease.
Unfortunately, I seem to be allergic to this eyeshadow and have had to take it out of rotation. I took a lippie off because of this.

Hands down my ALL TIME FAVE mac eyeshadow..
I own about 15 or so and this is my all time classic eyeshadow for a daytime smokey eye or a sexy bombshell night out look.
It makes my light brown eyes POP so much, I couldnt even imagine.
When I wore it once at mac, the SA told me how much this eyeshadow coplimented my eyecolour eventhough it was about the same colour.
Loveeeeee! This eyeshadow is PURE love..
I will deff buy this product again...its my "cant live without" eyeshadow!

Love this shadow, not a big fan of the amount of fall-out it produces on its own because of the glittery consistency, but used with pixie epoxy it solves that issue for me. It is a lovely color on its own for smoky eye as someone else mentioned here, but with the pixie epoxy under it makes it goldish on me & really pops even more. Adding it tiny bit to under my lower lash line makes it even sexier. Loving it & will repurchase/swap for again!

This is the color I have been searching for!! This makes my brown eyes pop and it makes a PERFECT bronze smokey eye. At first I thought I would hate the texture but it's not bad at all it blends really well. For a quick day smokey eye I just use tempting all over the lid, apply MAC smolder eye kohl (my favorite!!) and then smoke out the e/l with more tempting. I also do this on my lower lash line and then use Nylon or Gorgeous gold as a highlight. Apply mascara and you've got a perfect bronze smokey eye! Tempting has many dimensions so it actually looks like you spent a lot more time on your e/s than you did. I think this has become my favorite e/s because it's fool proof- I know I will look beautiful wearing it even if I have 5 mins to get ready.

This REALLY makes my blue eyes pop - my eyes look absolutely electric when I use this eyeshadow! In my opinion, if you have blue eyes you'll really love what this does for them! It's a medium (leaning more towards light than dark) bronze-leaning-towards-taupe color with subtle gold shimmer. It looks gorgeous and the shimmer isn't overpowering or over-the-top at all, it's quite subtle. I've never had any problem with fallout and it applies like velvet the way I use it. I usually cover my entire eyelid from lashes up to the brow with a light eyeshadow and then I put this (and any other eyeshadows I'm using) on top of the lighter shade. That way I find this applies perfectly and blends easily. I like to use this on my lids so that it's close to my eyes to really accentuate my eye color but it can also be used really effectively in the crease or just on it's own so it's extremely versatile. It really suits my skintone too (NC20). It's an exceptional neutral that goes with every other color I've put with it. I wouldn't want to be without this eyeshadow now that I've discovered it - it's an HG for me.

This is hands down my favorite shadow from MAC. I have came back countless times for this e/s. It is perfect to create a natural look or even a going out look. I use this all over the lid, in the crease, or on the lower lash line (which really looks nice; so if you own this I would definitely try it out if you haven't already). Will continue to purchase!

Such a beautiful warm-bronzey-sunkissed-smokey colour. apply on the crease or on the corner of my eyes to get this gorgeous lustre bronze sheen on my lid, looks so good with tan or even on my normal (MAC NC25) skin. so pigmented as well!

I ticked yes I would repurchase, but honestly i dont think I need to!
I have a tonne of eyeshadow, but I always end up coming back to this one. It's PERFECT on the outer corner of my eye!
It was a bit expensive, I think 33AUD, for one small colour, but you do get lots of product :)
Beautiful, bronze shimmer.

A very beautiful and unique shade! Tempting is an antique bronze with lots of golden shimmer and has a nice sheen finish. I find it perfect for everyday and it really makes my eyes pop and look great with little effort.
It's so pretty I like to wear it alone and just darken it up in the crease and outer corners, and use Dazzlelight as a highlight. Then add mascara and black eyeliner on top, and line the bottom lashes with Tempting.
The only problem is the shimmer tends to fall out onto my face, which is pretty annoying since primer doesn't seem to make it 'stick' completely.
Since this is neutral it should compliment most eye colors and skintones well, and it is definitely worth a try!

Soooo Tempting, not really that tempting for me it's in my "neutrals" palette but i never find myself reaching towards it. It's a beautiful colour looks very similar to Woodwinked which i also have in my palette, but it's just a darker more bronzer and a different texture to Woodwinked. <3

Really pretty golden bronze. Kind of like a cross between woodwinked and mulch. A nice staple to use for a neutral smokey eye or just a wash of color on the lid!
