Though the color is great for making green/hazel eyes pop I don't find myself enjoying this pencil liner.
First of all, sometimes I end up looking like I have an allergic reaction due to the strong red undertone.
Secondly, It doesn't glide smoothly, I find it rather dry and hard to apply. Not for me!

This was my first MAC eyeliner. I really love the color, it's dark enough that you notice its there, has color enough that if people pay attention they'll notice it's plum..

I like the formula, I love how it sit in my waterline reaally close to the lashes and smudges just a tad bit afte HOURS of use.

I apply almost on top of my upper lash, and smooth a bit with the sponge of a clinique's quickeye linner.

It was a bit hard to sharpen, I bought a new sharpener and now it's way easier.

Will buy again.

Pretty color, but I don't know what it is about Powerpoint liners. They always seem too hard to me and don't apply smoothly. I have this one and Engraved, and they both "skip" when applied. I find myself having to go back and try to fill in the blanks whenever I use them, and even then the line is never precise. You're never going to get a liquid-liner preciseness from these (and I don't expect to), but it would be nice if they did at least smudge better so you could use them for smokier, smudged out looks. That's not the case either. These fall into that dreaded middle ground where it looks neither precise enough nor smoky enough and more like you don't know how to apply eyeliner.

As others have said this liner applies beautifully when swatched on the back of your hand. However I found that when used around my eyes it didn't apply very evenly and I ended up with little patches or streaks of darker colour, almost as if I'd drawn over a piece of fluff or something.

The eyeliner is creamy and applies a lot of colour on the first sweep without needing to be "warmed up" at all. For any users of Urban Decay 24/7 liners, though, the formula is not quite as creamy as them nor does it smudge as well, even straight after application. Once it has set it does have very good staying power.

I have said I wouldn't purchase again, but I do love this colour and might be inclined to try others. What would stop me repurchasing Bordeauxline is the problem of uneven application, but I don't yet know if this problem is restricted to this one colour.

I was bummed about this

the problems are :

1) It doesn't go on or blend smoothly on the eye (looks good on the hand)

2) When you sharpen it, it effing breaks, regardless what sharpener you use. I had this problem before with the powerpoints and forgot about it. Now I remember why I never buy these
.

i have to admit i was excited to purchase this eyeliner it was one of the first 3 items i ever bought from mac, the first time going with high end cosmetics, i am disappointed in the colour mainly because it makes me look very tired, red based plums and purples are supposed to be a good thing for people with green eyes, but not for me i have found! :(

Got to love MAC eye pencils. They are my go to eye pencils. And since I love purple eyeliner to bring out the green in my eyes, I wear this daily. It's got enough color not to be boring but not too much to stand out, the plum is not too dark to wash out my fair complexion. It's smooth and glides over my eyelids. Sharpens easily. You do pay for quality here - it's a great, smooth color and the packaging is very nice as well. What a great buy, you can't get eye pencils like this in a drugstore.

Red-toned plum liner. Beautiful color.. on my hands.

I couldn't ever end up finishing to use this because it made me look an eye-sore.

You have to be careful with red-toned liners because it may make you look very weary.

This liner is a deep purple/plum color. The color is gorgeous, and when I swatched it on the back of my hand, I loved it! It's gorgeous on the top lid, but I feel like it doesn't really show up on my waterline. I have to apply 3 coats for it to show up.. I'm not sure if it's because I have dark lashes, or because of the product itself. I definitely will buy this again if I run out of it, because I absolutely adore the color! :)

I love this pencil. After endless searching for the perfect plummy colored liner I think I've found it. It goes on smooth and last for hours and hours. It brings out the color in my hazel eyes beautifully. Probably one of the only pencils I've ever had to rebuy because I've used it down to a stub. I have no problems sharpening this to a fine point at all. Highly recommend to green/hazel eyed ladies.

I don't know how this product has so many good reviews. I am so let down by the color of this pencil. On my hand when testing it in the store it looked great and was just what I was looking for. When I put this around my eye area it looks muddy and far from the color it is supposed to be. I will just stick to MAC's fluidlines from now on, this one is going back.

I like the color, but the pencil always breaks on me. As soon as I get it even slightly sharp, the lead breaks off and I have to sharpen it all over again. I've lost over half the pencil just to sharpening. Perhaps I should just forgo all pencil liners, if only it was in a plastic tube I'm sure I would love the color.

Bordeauxline is a very red-toned purple. The red in it makes my eyes look really bad, and gives me that punched out look. I know this color is supposed to be flattering for green eyes, but it doesn't work for me at all. I prefer using the Prunella eye kohl, which is more blackish toned, and not as much red. However I rarely use Prunella, since the red tones are not flattering for me.

Aside from that, I love the powerpoint liners because they go on very smooth, and seem to stay on better than the eye kohls.

Thank you MUA reviewers for telling me about this wonderful eyeliner! I have now discovered the beauty of purple liner and brown eyes. I am a lighter-skinned African American female and I was having difficulty finding a purple liner that showed up nicely on my skin. This liner is the perfect shade--not clownish (I'm in my 30's and there is a fine line between trendy and silly)--just that subtle touch of color. The liner isn't as creamy as kohl liners I have used, but the color stays put all day long--a plus from someone who is constantly using eyedrops because of allergies. I found the price to be decent because I've paid much more for liners that just end up giving me raccoon eyes.

Luv it! Perfect shade of purple. Usually I prefer gel or liquid over pencils, cuz pencils usu aren't heavy enough for me, but its consistency is great. It glides on smoothly and is buildable. I have a pic of how it looks.

I think this shade would complement almost anyone's eye color, esp those w/green or greenish undertones.

Bordeauxline is a phenomenal color for green and hazel eyes. This liner immediately brightens my eyes and my hazel eyes just pop. I find this shade pretty versatile as this liner can be worn with purple, pinks, plum based greys (MAC's Shale, NARS Tokyo duo and Stila's Viola for example) and plummy browns such as MAC's Sable. The Powerpoint Liners in general are one of the best things in MAC's line and they are wonderful for lining and smudging. Staying power is also fantastic.

I LOVE powerpoint, and LOVE this color. Gone are the days of boring black. Great pencil for day wear, I still wear black for a night out. GREAT staying power eventhough the pencil is so soft. I love it! Wish it was cheaper though.

Great eyeliner! It is not overpowering and is a great complimentary color. The eyeliner is soft and gentle and applies smoothly.
