Pretty, sheer, cool red. Shhh turns a tad pink on me, but not in a garish/loud way :) I'm a yellow/olive complected girl with dark hair and eyes, and this is a very pretty wearable red! not a color i pull out a lot in my stash, but perhaps when i get more guts i'll wear it during the daytime :) For now, it's STRICTLY for special occasions/nights out :)

I love it! I have dark hair and blue eyes, and this (along with Redwood) is one of the few reds I can wear during the day, without looking too much. Although it's sheer, you still get quite a lot of colour, but you do have to re-apply quite often.

I got this lipstick from back to mac, I have a million reds but as Im a red-lipstick lover I thought a sheer red should be on my collection, well, I wasnt happy at first that it didnt apply too evenly, its like a stain, so I did put it up for swap, but then one day I was doing my makeup and thought of putting spice lipliner under, and what a gorgeous colour! I gotta love this combination so it stays with me :)

it is very mosturizing unlike most mac lipsticks so I think from now I will use it more often ;)

A very sheer red, and therefore a very nice color for me, someone who's not much of a lipstick person. It leaves a lovely stain, and a just-bitten look.

A perfect, sheer, cool toned red. It gives you a cherry mouth without a full made up effect. Fantastic - especially in the summer. This is a staple in my lipstick arsenal.

I love this color--it's very like the first lipstick I ever had, a shiny, sticky slightly cool-toned Dior pot gloss that they stopped making ages ago in a color that I think was called Cerise. (It tasted of cherries, too.) Dior had something like this in stick form in the 1980s, too. Basically, it's a bright, slightly cool-toned red. The formulation is sheer. It's incredibly pretty and wearable--the only drawback is that it doesn't last too long (hence removal of one lipstick).

Of all of the hundreds of lipsticks I’ve owned over the years, this is definitely one of my favorites. It's a very sheer red with a hint of pink. Shhh gives my medium pigmented lips that 'just bitten' look; like I just ate a cherry popsicle. The sheer formula makes it very natural and fresh looking.

I have a very hard time pulling off red lipsticks in general. I usually stick to more neutral pinks and plums.

However for some reason this lipstick really works. It gives me the appearance of Drew Barrymore red lips without the nasty drying effect or the creased trashy lips that most reds appear on me after they've been on over an hour (ie, Viva Glam III). It's probably because it's such a light lustre formula.

Whatever it is, it works and I will re-purchase.

While I agree that this is a lovely sheer red, I wouldn't describe it as pink red. On me (PPP) it is a sheer brick red. It blends beautifully with MAC brick lipliner. As a matter of fact, MAC recommends this as a replacement color for their discontinued red brick lipstick.

I love the sheer formula of this, and it has enough pigment to stand on its own without a liner. Yes, it does have pink tones but it's still a red, and works on me [warm LLL]. It's a nice punch of color for day or night. I have to wear black for work and this is a nice diversion for that.

This is a pretty blue based red with only a tiny bit of blue. It's fairly sheer, but it does have medium color payoff. I was surprised to see that it lasted a long time on my lips especially since lustres and sheers tend to lack in staying power. It's a gorgeous red that isn't OTT and it's very wearable...even at work at an office job. I pair this w/ quartz and it's a great combo.

This was one of the first MAC l/s I bought (years ago) along with Viva Glam 1, and I have never really used it. I am a l/s junkie, especially reds, but this comes off as a very harsh, garish red on me. Very unflattering to my ppp/fff skintone. But it is go gorgeous in the tube! I think I am not a fan of sheers, as VG1 is my HG.

I'm so surprised to be the first person here reviewing Mac glaze lipstick in Shhh. This is one of my favorite lipstick colors right now. Since this is the glaze formula it is very sheer and a very pretty pinky-red. This is a good sheer red color for people like me who are reluctant to wear red lipstick colors. I don't like my lips to announce themselves as I walk into the the room. This lipstick is so sheer and light. I can dab this on for just a hint of red on my lips or put two coats on for more emphasis. This is such a gorgeous pinky-red that I think it would suit alot of different people.
