I purchased Black and Espresso (Dark Brown) and I gotta say, I was disappointed even though it didn't cost much. :(
Yes, it applies smoothly and its cheap but there are so much better eyeliners out there.
I have to apply 3-4 times in order to get a solid color from it, and the smudging is terrible. I do use an incredible primer (E.L.F. Eyelid Primer) but it smudges no matter how much primer I put on. And it fades after maybe 2 hours. It doesn't even make through half of the day. :(
Milani is great considering eye wear but this was just...terrible. I will repurchase other items from Milani, just not this eyeliner.

I've never really used any Milani products before besides a nail polish about 3 years ago so when I saw this at Target for $3.99 (roughly) I picked it up in Charcoal. Usually Charcoal is a pretty dark black but when I opened this up I could already tell just from the color of the actual product that it was more of a light grey than black. The color pay off was horrible for me. I found myself retracing my line about 4 times and yet it was still a light grey color, Definetly wont buy this again, the color pay off just wasnt that great.

Great basic black liner. Good color and smooth application. The only thing is that it does not last long. You would need to reapply within an two or three hours. Don't even try to put it on your waterline, doesn't stay at all. Good for school or work with a few touch-ups.

i've tried quite a few pencil eyeliners, from wet n wild to covergirl to nyx and i must say, this is one of the best pencil eyeliners i have ever come across.
i use the black color and it glides on really smooth. i only line my upper eyelids and it's so easy to draw a straight light across. i would recommend these for beginners or people who struggle with lining their upper eyelids, because this works like a charm. it is truly an 'easy liner.'
also, i love how it's a smooth tip and you don't need to sharpen it because it's retractable. big thumbs up.
however, it can wear off. if you sweat a lot, this product will most likely smudge. not a lot, but a bit. i have found traces of it on my crease, but typically on extremely hot days. on a daily basis, this eyeliner stays perfectly.
the eye color isn't dramatic and it's excellent for every day use. i love this eyeliner!

i dont really know if i like this or not. it takes a while to apply to my water line, and it does migrate badly. the color payoff is good and it dosent irritate my sensitive eyes. it was pretty cheap so no complaints on that. the only thing that bothered me is that it is impossible to come off!!!!!!!! i used two different types of makeup removers and took two showers and it didnt come off completely for like two days since applying. for that i dont think i will buy again

I picked this up on clearance at CVS in blue eyes. I would recommend swatching this before you buy it; it's a pretty aggressive color and a bit brighter than I expected from the packaging.
I finally got around to trying it out and I put it up to the ultimate test; the bottom lashline. Holy raccoon eyes Batman! This migrated really badly; way worse than my other pencils do in that area (UD, Stila, WnW). And this was with eyeshadow primer applied.

I quite like it, its soft and applies pretty dark, and I like that I don't have to sharpen it, although the end does get a little blunt. Pretty much what I ask for in an eyeliner :)

I was looking for a new eyeliner to replace my MAC graphblack eyeliner. Essentially I was looking for a cheaper alternative. I purchased this Milani eyeliner in Black. I honestly don't like it. It is easy to apply but throughout the day, I notice that it transfers and smears. It does not last all day and I end up looking like a raccoon. Once I finish this eyeliner, I will never purchase it ever again. I'm only using it up so I don't waste the product.

I really didn't like this. It irritated my eyes when I used it for tightlining, and it migrated to my waterline because it was so smudgy and creamy. Though, because of the creaminess it was easy to apply, and I didn't have any skipping with it. There are much better eyeliners out there that DON'T migrate or smudge, even at the drugstore. Will not repurchase.

I have this pencil in black and in "Blue Eyes," and like both of them very much! I'm surprised to see the reviewers who are having trouble with lasting-power and smudging, though. For myself, anyhow, it lasts hours and hours without smudging or fading, and I'd absolutely buy it again. In fact, it's on my "to-get list" in a couple of other colors! Definitely worth a try, it might work well for you, too!

I have used this eyeliner for a few years in both black and charcoal.
Pros:
-Easy to find at most drugstores
-Retractable (I find that most non-retractable tips break more easily)
-Very smooth application and smudge-able
-Charcoal color is beautiful and looks nice and smoky when smudged a bit.
-Relatively inexpensive
Cons:
-Fades very easily and needs to be reapplied 1-2 times in a day if you want to maintain the look. Horrible fading on waterline (after a long day of work it's basically non-existent). Fades on eyelid also near inner corners.
-Creases easily on oily lids. Unfortunately I have very oily lids and no matter how close to the lashline I get, it always ends up creases after a few hours of wear. When I apply an eyelid primer (like UD) it creases less, but I think even alone eyeliners shouldn't crease this bad.
-Black is definitely not the richest black, even amongst drugstore brands. And along with the fading and creasing, the black turns into a greasy grey by the end of the day.
Unfortunately I am still on the search for a good retractable pencil eyeliner. If your don't have oily lids and don't want a very deep color payoff this may work for you.

This replaces a similar version that L'Oreal has out that is more expensive ($9 or so). I think Miliani runs about $4 or $5. It seems to be a bit more expensive than it was a few years ago ($3 or so).
This is a decent liner and the one I have most often in my make up kit. It is not as strong as my HG liner, a pencil from Merle Norman that is the blackest black you have ever seen and sharpens to the best point EVER for a pencil liner. However, I am lazy and I visit Merle Norman infrequently due to inconvenience so I stick to this inexpensive alternative.
I like how it lines on the top, but sometimes I will get some fading or smearing on the outer bottom lashes. I guess if that area gets oily, it will smudge a little and be a bit shadowy. Sometimes it will gather in the small lines at the lash line. I can fix that pretty easily with a Q-tip, but if I had a big day or a long day I would want something more substantial that could hold up better.
I have used this for years, though. But it isn't my HG, just a bargain liner that does the best job out of all the DS brands.

The color is beautiful! I got emerald, and I love the glitter in it. It's kind of a darker teal color. I was really excited to see that it doesn't expire for 3 years! Yay! It also applies smoothly and is very pigmented, even with one swipe. I'm very happy with my purchase. =)

Average product. It doesn't smudge as fast as other eyeliners, but when it does - it's kind of a mess. I don't think I'd buy this again. I think I'll just use this as my Emergency eye-liner for when I run out of my main one. The packaging is veeeeery cute though. I love it! Too bad the eyeliner is just a "meh"

I bought this in "blue eyes" hoping to try out that whole "blue to brighten up the eyes" look. It didn't quite match the same shade of blue as the L'Oreal Hip cream eyeliner I was using (it's a little brighter) seeing as I wanted this for my waterline.
Milani stood out to me because it had the cheapest "self-sharpening" eye liner (the twist out kinds) pencil at Target. It seems the staying power on this is pretty good, but it SMEARS on the waterline (I am unsure of how it is on the eyelid). I ended up having blue splotches under my eyes and because of it's staying power, I couldn't completely wipe it off with water. So with the blue shade, I ended up looking a little bruised around the eyes.
I suppose it could be a decent eyeliner, but if you want it for the purpose of lining your waterline, then I don't recommend it.

I really love this product. very smooth true to color and no tugging great eyeliner. The color I got is emerald and it is awesome I love it you have to put no presure to get the color slight touch and the application goes on nicely creamy also but not in a messy way would suggest if looking for great affortable eyeliners.

This is a quality eye liner for sure, and love how inexpensive it is! I have this in Charcoal and cognac, and love the quality. It stays in place, goes on smoothly, yet isn't a super creamy formula that will turn into a mess mid-day. The charcoal color is great...Its a darker gray shade that I would use when I want my eyes to stand out a little more than usual. I would call it a blackened gray, for "daytime black" when you don't want the drama of a serious black liner, and is wearable for daytime or nighttime! Love it. The Cognac one I have i haven't seen really in any other d/s brand...it's like a maroon-is/wine-colored black. I pretty much bought it cause it was unique in color. Not bad on me, but I reach for my charcoal one way more :)

There are some eyeliners that will just fade throughout the day, but this one will smear. Granted, it is not so bad that I am left with horrible "raccoon eyes", but I like a precise, dark thin line above my lash line that will stay on until I wash off my makeup at night. I have this in "Charcoal" and was amazed by how smoothly it goes on the first time I tried it. However, this smoothness means less staying power. It's creamy enough to be completely smeared off into an ugly faded gray if I run my fingers over it. It's frustrating that while liquid eyeliners will not smudge like this, their brush/felt tip applicators do not offer me the amount of control that I want. I can only achieve the look I like with pencil eyeliners, but I must sacrifice the longevity of the color/pigment. Overall, this is an okay product. It's cheap and easy to use, but there are other Milani products and other eyeliners that are far better.
