Another tryout for my wedding, even though I've decided to have a makeup artist do it. Purchased in Espresso, perfect color for me. A little too subtle. I am afraid to sharpen it as the lead sort of comes out and I know it will break. hmmmm.... I don't think it stayed on ...

I just rediscovered this eyeliner and realized that it has been discontinued. Pencil glides on smoothly and lasts a long time. I got it in Very Black, perfect to line inner rims for smoky look.

Sigh. I ticked "yes" under would I repurchase--if I only could. Of course I've found how wonderful my pencil in Tweed is for lining the undereye now that I can no longer get it. It's a great light taupey brown that's perfect for definition without drama and it *lasts* all day. I started using it again because my Armani #1 is a good color but doesn't last. Wish I would've tried it again before it was d/c so that I could have gotten backups....

I had a few of these at one time but misplaced the black one and the silver/metallic one. I do have the Tweed, which is a bronze shimmery brown. I really love the quality of these pencils. They are creamy in the application and they last a while even without a base. I really also like the packaging, the self-sharpener provides there is virtually no waste (other than what I wipe off when I clean the tip of the pencil). I wish I could still find these, I would repurchase the black one for sure, it used to be a staple in my bag. The price is really the only drawback, but these pencils last a while (I've had the Tweed for a couple years and I use it pretty often).

I used to use this until I was introduced to the Studio Yeux. While this twists up, it doesn't twist down - the new studio yeux does. The automatic sharpener was never really sharp enough -it would sharpen into this large, round blob which made smudging easy, but it was hard to work with the consistency when I didn't want to completely smudge the eyeliner into my shadow. I use espresso and noir and i love them both, but i now use the stylo yeux, which is similar but the sharpener goes up and down. This one lasts all day as well.

My HG eyeliner. I like this better than CD's and Lancome's waterproof liners because it lasts longer and doesn't smudge. It applies smoothly and stays put all day. Great for the waterline. Very highly recommended.

Honestly, this is the best eyeliner in the world. It's definately worth what you pay for it. I have it in Very Black and I only do my eyeliner on the bottom, but I dont line the inside. Chanel has the best make-up ever! (Their lipgloss in Rosesand is ah-mazing too.) It goes on very easy and it even stays on if I accidently wear it to bed. Yes it is a little smudged in the morning but you can still see the line perfectly. When i apply my eyeliner I do it very dark and I love how it looks at the end of the day. It fades in color naturally and I love it. I'm only sticking with Chanel make-up because it is the best!

Geez--this does NOT work. I find this liner NOT waterproof at all. It "vanished" on my eyelids so quickly while I was just taking a nap--and it piled on my bags, giving me raccoon eyes. Given that, I don't think that this liner will last through sports as CHANEL claims. Don't waste your money on this product. Thank god I bought this from eBay--though still paid $18. Maybelline waterproof liquid liner is million times better than this!!! I still gave one point because this does not sting my eyes at least. Given the rave reviews, I had a big expectation on this liner--very disappointed.

I am lost without my aqua crayons, I recently ran out of my black and tried to use a few others I had laying around, let's just say it wasn't pretty at the end of the day. As far as pencils go, this one is the best, and you can't beat the ease of application, which beats my LM cake liners and BB gels everytime.

I got this in velveteen. I dont like because it doesnt go on smoothly at all. reading all the previous reviews, I wonder if maybe I got a "bad" one. mine does not go on like silk, but rather like a crayon. I have little crepey lines on the top lid (comes with age, dears) and it does not cover them well at all. I will stick with using powder shadows applied with a wet brush. too bad $$$

I used to use this product and then I switched over to liquid liner. I started using pencil liners again and was looking for a good waterproof liner that didn't smudge. My friend reminded me how well this eyeliner performed and I've just started using it again. It really goes on well and it doesn't smudge at all, which is even more important to me than the fact that it's waterproof. I also like that it's an automatic pencil (i.e. self-sharpening), which is great if you travel and don't like bringing along a sharpener. It also lasts for a really long time.

oh my gosh. what an eyeliner! i can honestly say that this is the best eyeliner i have ever owned. i used to always use MAC Powerpoint in engraved, but when my sister recomended it, i tried hers first. and i was convinced that i just HAD to buy it. it's expensive and you can't twist it back down. but i would definitly buy this product again. this is the first eyeliner, that
is NOT liquid, that stayed on my oily eyelids all day!!!

I saw this in Allure's Oct. 2005 Best of Beauty issue and immediately checked the MUA reviews. I knew I had to try this eyeliner. I went with the Very Black even though it looked too harsh (it isn't). I love that it's an automatic pencil, because I hate sharpening. The tip is soft and it glides on well. It can be smudged for a smoky look. It took some practice to get this to work on my lower rim, but now that I have mastered it I couldn't be happier. This eyeliner STAYS PUT. It blows MAC Engraved Powerpoint away. I am switching from Chanel Le Crayon Yeux in Black. Even though this eyeliner is SO expensive it really is worth it. UPDATE: MAC Liquidlast in Point Black is now the only product I will use on my bottom rim. It's a bit harsh for my top, so I have still been using the Chanel but once it runs out I'm going to keep looking. Origins is coming out with a new automatic liner(August 2006) and there are some NARS pencils I have had my eye on.

OHMIGOSH this is by far the BEST BEST eyeliner EVERRR so worth the price . . . even though it IS super expensive. I am a huge fan of the smoky eye so a good black eyeliner is always on my most wanted list. Although I do not like the automatic pencil packaging because they always seem to break- I am keeping my fingers crossed that this one will hold up til the end of its liner days. But the quality is excellent...it does not smear or smudge and stays put on my oily moist inner rims of the eyes. I will definitely buy this again if it stays the same quality (for example, the Lancome waterproof liner was great for the first few days and sucked afterwards) even if it means not buying a mocha everyday for the next month to save up the $30 for the pencil :)

Chanel aqua crayon is one of the best on the market, the smooth application and long lasting smudge proof is well worth the price!
Try espresso on the top lid and tweed on the botton for a naturel wide eyed look!

I have this in black (or noir). This is the only waterproof eye liner that will go on smoothly AND not smear away on my lower eyelid rim. I've tried Lancome's waterproof eye liner and it does not work nearly as well. It kept breaking and drying up. The Chanel liner is creamy and goes on easily. Only complaint is the prohibitive cost!

If this is the aqua liner, it's great. I love the staying power. Most other liners tend to drift down my face! I have the espresso color. Love it. Have bought it 3 times.

I am always looking for a good long lasting eye liner. So far my HG is BB gel liners with a close follow up of the MAC fluidlines. As far as pencils go, its Sue Devitts eye intensifiers, then Clinique's Cream shapers following closely behind is MAC powerpoints. Well, lo and behold, Chanel's aqua crayon is the best pencil liner I have ever tried. I had absolutely no smudging with this. I picked this up in Tweed, which is a shimmery taupey greyed bronze color. Its closest to brown, but its not brown. SD Surat is slightly taupier, Biotherm #165 is a little greyer, Mac Dig It is much frostier, and Clinique Brown Sugar is much browner. NARS Bulitt is the closest match I could find.
My only gripes with the Chanel is the price, which is a whopping $23.50 and that Tweed is a little on the light side. Its definately a daytime liner for me. NOt dark enough for night. It is also slightly on the dry side so a slight amount of tugging is involved. I do like the automatic pencil though and this did last 12 + hours in Florida humidity including a sweaty workout. I also wish this had more colors. There are only 5 shades, a black, dark brown, purple, grey and the taupey Tweed color. Overall, I am impressed with the lasting power of this!
