I just purchased it this week, and WOW I am in love! It is so buttery and creamy and blends like a dream. Although it has already been stated in many other reviews... this is what I wanted satin taupe to be. I usually prefer MAC eyeshadows to UD because I think there is just waaaaaay too much glitter and shimmer in UD e/s but this one is just perfect. This is the perfect everyday eyeshadow and it can be dressed up for night time. I used this on the lid, kid in the crease and transition, vanilla to highlight, and carbon in outer v... looked AMAZING! Would totally recommend this to anyone of any skin or eye color.

I don't know why I keep buying Urban decay when the products aren't great. This color is gorgeous!! Fell in love with the smoothness of it. But, yes big but, the eyeshadow was fading within 2 hours of wear. In an average day I have to reapply this shadow twice. For $18 each you shouldn't have to put a primer on to make these last. And because everyone is comparing this to Satin Taupe, just know Mac is cheaper and it last all day (no primer).

Stray Dog is a gorgeous shimmery taupe that has the slightest mauve undertone but the white-gold shimmer helps balance the coolness. In comparison to MAC's Satin Taupe, this is more shimmery, less mauve, and is much buttery and pigmented in comparison. Depends on the look you're going for, but I prefer Stray Dog as it brightens up my eyes better, and just looks more polished. If you're looking for a very basic taupe that you're looking to use for day and night, Stray Dog is yours. I think it would suit all skintones alike.

I love this shadow! It's weimeraner color, stays on all day, and doesn't flake or disappear. Looks great with brown eyes and fair skin- really brings out your eyes.

Another lovely Urban Decay color it is a taupe with subtle mauve undertones light shimmer (lesser than even smog by UD), extreamly wearable by most skintones, versatile for day or night. Great for work, an evening out, party, dinner...... Unlike Satin Taupe this doesnot have any red undertones having said that I like both the colors.

This is so cool tone and the silver definitely stands out on my NC40-42 skin. It doesn't look as good on the eyes as it does on my hand. I didn't expect it to look so grey/silver. It's not flattering at all but if I try to warm it up with some brown in the outer corners, it's not as bad. I normally like Urban Decay eyeshadows but this one seems a bit less pigmented than normal too..texture is nice though. I can't compare it to Satin Taupe as I've never tried it but I wouldn't rebuy this. Caution if you are around my shade and warm.

LOVE this shadow. I have very fair, neutral/yellowish-toned skin with blue eyes and honey blond hair. I usually wear neutral shadows, and this one is my absolute favorite. I was using MAC Satin Taupe for the longest time, which I loved, but sometimes it made me look sick or like I had a black eye because of the mauve tones in it. Then I found out about Stray Dog, and people said that it was similar to Satin Taupe but with less of the mauve thing going on, so I decided to try it. Alas, it does look a lot better on me than ST! I love this shadow because it compliments my blue eyes, isn't too light or too dark so it works for everyday or can be worked into a smokey eye, it has fantastic pigment and staying power (I use UD Primer Potion), little to no fallout.... everything about it is just perfect. I've had a few people compliment me on it! I would definitely repurchase when I run out. I use this almost every day.

Colour: dark taupe, with shimmery brown and slight pink hues. A total dupe of Mac's "Satin Taupe" (which I already own) so I returned UD's "Stray Dog" because I don't need two of the same colour. I honestly thought UD's shade looked different when I was at Sephora, but when I got home and swatched both side-by-side, they were almost identical.
Like all the other UD shadows, the quality and colour are amazing. These guys know how to make superior eyeshadows. Smooth, easy to apply and no fallout.
Packaging is "okay", but a little bulky. I normally depot my UD shadows and throw magnets on the back of them so they can sit in my MAC palettes. Message me if you'd like to know how to do it. :)

Stray Dog is a very nice taupe shade that is really actually like MAC's Satin Taupe. I actually like Stray Dog better since it's much more creamier and tends to blend better. This shade came in the Feminine palette with five other eye shadows.

Not super impressed, never tried satin taupe so I can't compare but this swatched so much prettier than it goes on my lids. I'll attempt to use it up but won't repurchase. The pigmentation is fine and it lives up to what people expect of UD eyeshadows but the color didn't wow my senses...

I L-O-V-E this eyeshadow. It is my go-to color for everyday use, but it is a great color for night time as well. As the UD website says, this is a cool, medium brown... definetley comparable to Mac's Satin Taupe! I prefer Stray dog though because of the great pigmentation and simply how the color looks on my eye :)

I love UD eyeshadows. Stray Dog was the first I ever purchased and it's great for a neutral day look, as well as evening look. It isn't my favorite color, but it's still great. It is a little shimmery too. You can pretty much make it do whatever you like!

The whole series of these eyeshadows are amazing. I love this color in particular but every one of these shadows are awesome. I gave it a 4 because some of them are straight up glitteratis - which doesn't work on someone who is in the work force.

This is one of my HG eyeshadows. There is no glitter, just a beautiful taupe-brown that happens to compliment my skin-tone perfectly. The color looks a lot different in the pan then on my face. I HATE satin taupe, but bought it because it was supposed to be a dupe of stray dog (or vice versa). Satin taupe comes off bronzy on me and looks nothing like stray dog.

Yes, yes, yes! As another reviewer said...THIS is what I hoped MAC Satin Taupe would be.
Stray Dog is a beautiful plum based taupe, which is a fantastic compliment for any eye shade. It makes my green eyes really stand out. There are no silver or gray tones, which is what ruins taupe shades for warm complected gals like me. Nor do I see any brown, but maybe it depends on eye color and complection.
The consistency can only be described as "velvety" and the pigmentation is amazing. I can very the intensity of the color easily from very subtle and natural to very rich and smoky. It layers smoothly and blends beautifully.
I used this as a crease color over BE Vanilla Sugar, with a very dark purple (the very darkest matte purple the WNW "Lust" pallette) in the outer V and along the lashline. I finished it with UD 24/7 liner in "Rockstar". I'm very pleased with the look. Because I'm so pale, it's hard to achieve a smoky look with black and gray. They're just too harsh and too cool. So I choose purples for a smoky eye, and this really does the job nicely.
It's fairly pricey; $17 for one eye shadow is a little steep for me. But I think it will last quite a long time, which makes it a better value than a shadow that you have to layer and layer and layer to get satisfactory color payoff.
I've only recently begun to experiment with high end eyeshadows and I have to say that I am far more impressed with the quality of the UD eyeshadows than I am MAC. MAC shadows are nice, to be sure. I can't dispute that it's a quality product. But Urband Decay are just better, IMO. And, I don't have to go to the mall to get them, which is a HUGE bonus for me.

Stray Dog is such a pretty dark taupe. It's an excellent crease shade for everyday looks for me. The quality is amazing, and the pigmentation is perfect.

My favorite eyeshadow by Urban Decay!! This is my go-to color in the morning when I'm rushed or just don't feel like going all-out on my eyes. It's a cool, highly-pigmented, everyday, medium brown....a great neutral color for brown-eyed girls like myself. I love using Stray Dog on the outer half of my lid and UD'S YDK on the inner half. A neutral look with a twist! It stays looking fresh and crease-free all day with UDPP. I've already repurchased once and will continue to do so as long as UD makes this color!

Stray Dog is what I had always hoped Satin Taupe would look like on me. The UD website describes it as a "cool medium brown," but on me it is a flattering plummy-taupe color, which is exactly what I've been looking for. It's not too shimmery, highly pigmented, and lasts all day--couldn't ask for more.

I'm going to have to agree with other reviewers on here saying this is the satin taupe dupe but I only discovered that after purchasing this ONLY because they were out of YDK at Sephora. No wonder this one caught my eye, Satin taupe is my fav of all time. It's a shimmer taupe that is buildable and neutral. I love this shadow and therefore would def buy it again!
