The Babyliss iron I have is really nice. It heats up quickly and does it's job. I'm also a big fan of the adjustable temperature; however, I always manage to turn it off by accident. The buttons shouldn't be so easy to hit.

I purchased this about 5 years ago when it first came out. At the time, I thought it was pricey ($200 or so), but still to this day, it is probably the best $200 I have ever spent. My hair is wavy with some curl and lots of frizz. The babyliss straightens my hair perfectly every time!!! I will admit, this is not a tool if you actually want to have volume or even "style" to your hair. This is amazing if you want stick straight hair. It is not the best for the tiny hairs around your bangs, etc, but those are fixed with my cheap conair one. My friends all got hooked on it 5 years ago when they tried mine, however, most of them went and bought the 1". I recently also bought a 1" GHD.....and if I had to pick between my Babyliss and GHD, my babyliss would win hands down.

I used this at my girlfriends house and I will rank how I found it to be, as well as how I feel it has affected her hair over time.

Firstly I am no slouch when it comes to straightening my hair - at the time I used this I had thick hair long enough for me to sit on. I found this cumbersome to use and heavy, and the thing is dangerous in the fact that there is no plastic covering the edge of the plate - a fact which caused me to burn my own forehead. Seriously, I would never use this around my ears, neck or forehead ever again - I had a scab for over a week.

Not only did I find it to be it to be so-so, my gf has been using this for a year and it is slowly ruining her hair. She doesn't use it on wet hair and uses a protectant spray but she still has damaged crispy looking hair. I honestly think it wouldn't look any worse had she used just a regular d/s brand iron.

I have a GHD on order so no intention of buying anything from this brand!

overall this is a pretty good straightener 4 the price,i have very curly and wavy/frizzy hair and this straightens it really good and makes it look super straight and flat without frizz and makes me look like i was born with naturally straight hair but the only problem is that it takes me about an hour or 45min 2 straighten all my hair thats the only problem i have with it but since i only paid like $80 bucks for it i think it works pretty good 4 the price and ive had it 4 about 3 yrs now and it still works like new so overall its a good flat iron 4 the price and i would buy it again if i only had $80 bucks 2 spend on a flat iron

Overall not bad but my hair gets caught between the plastic and the ceramic sometimes. I wish it had an automatic shut-off, I'm afraid I'll burn down the house. Straightens well except for very close to the hairline.

2 years ago I thought this was an awesome iron. Compared to whats out there now it's bulky and the results are not promising. My longer hair required me to have a 2 1/4 inch AND a 1 inch for my bangs and roots. I could NEVER use my 1 inch for my whole head! AND sometimes it rips out my hair:( I've had to replace it as it no longer works! I say "Boo to Babyliss"

Prior to the Babyliss, I'd been using a Revlon Professional Dual Edge Model RV071C (a $30 hair straightener), so my comparative standards may be pretty low! I'm giving it 4/5 just because I'm not sure if there's something better out there. The Babyliss is a *huge* improvement on the Revlon one, since the thing I hated about the Revlon model is that the corners would always snag strands of hair. There seem to be quite a few hair-snagging mentions with the Babyliss here, but I've honestly never had that. Actually, the thing I notice the most is that it does NOT snag, and that's why I love this model. With the Revlon one it was a daily irritation. This one is great.

Got it as a gift: hubby got the large 2 1/4" model based on advice from the salon who said it would be faster to use a larger one. I totally agree - I can straighten my very thick, shoulder length hair in a few minutes and it heats up incredibly quickly. So far, no hair damage: I've had it for about 8 months and use it maybe every other day. Seems to be holding up so far (both the hair and the straightener!).

One tip, though: I was an idiot and attempted to do a quick iron on my shirt collar because I was in a hurry and didn't want to pull out the clothes iron. Don't do that - the Babyliss was so hot it pretty much melted the fabric. So just use it on your hair. I'm sure that advice is about as useful as the directions that say, "DO NOT USE WHILE SLEEPING!" but it was kind of a revelation for me. Yeah, I'm a moron, but the cheaper straightening irons don't get quite so hot, which meant I could do a quick collar-groom while doing my hair. This one gets very, very hot. It's probably also a good idea to use some kind of heat spray, as well.

i have this iron in the 1 inch version. i notice that strands of my hair gets caught at the ends of the plates and pulls out my hair, which can be painful. aside from that, it heats up quickly and does a good job at straightening my hair. doesnt damage my hair either. pricey but worth it. my first one all of a sudden stopped working, it wouldn't turn on. i had to call babyliss send them s&h charges and they sent me another one.

i cannot live without a ceramic straightener. i can't believe i've actually went out in public before this. lol. my hair is just a huge frizzball. it used to take me forever to get my hair straight but that was because my old hair straightener was crap. the only downside about this product is that after about a year, it just stopped working(my friend has the same one and it did the exact same thing too). thankfully i took it back to the store and they gave me a new one. i put "no" to buying this product again because it already stopped working for me and i received another one, so if my new one stops working again, i'm just going to buy another brand. no point in buying the same one if it will stop working after a year. but for now, i can't go a day without using my hair straightener. probably not the best thing for my hair, but it makes my hair feel so soft and it's so straight. :)

This is not a bad product, but it didn't do a great job of straightening my hair, only average to good. It was a bit heavy and awkward to work with as well. It does work better than my old Conair, but I now use the Hai Convertable and it does a better job than the Babyliss.

Received this iron for Christmas, a little disappointed that it wasn't a Chi. But after using it a few times, my curly hair is finally looking like I have naturally straight hair! It makes my hair very soft, smooth and shiny but the ceramic plates do catch my hair in the corners and it hurts :(
Overall, love it!

I really like this iron. It heats up very fast, and it's HOT!! My hair is nice and shiny afterwards to. The only problem I have with it is that the corner of where the ceramic meets the plastic, pulls and breaks the ends my hair sometimes.

I love this, use it daily basically on my long hair. I marked it a 4 because after 1 year mine stopped working, but the company had me mail it back and sent me a brand new one in 1 week. They were awesome about that!! Works great.

OMG this is *SICK*!!!! Heats up in no time with an adjustable dial to set the temperature up to 205 F.I have very thick hair that has a slight wave to it.It takes me way too long to fart around with a blow dryer, so I let it dry naturally.I used Wella Liquid Hair Flat Iron Spray & set to work.
This took me 1/2 the time it used to take when I used my old conair with the metal plates. No longer than 15 minutes on my entire hairdo,& mine is very thick! I was very happy about that. Smooth as silk on the hair & the ceramic plates heats up like a dream in no time flat, & doesn't tug on your hair whatsover.Easy to work with too. It's a bit pricey, though I was very lucky - scored mine for $89.99 CDN at Beauty Supply - they have a wicked sale going on right now -$30 off all Babyliss products CDN Gurls!!! Seriously - once you try a ceramic straightener like this you'll wonder that the heck you were thinking using them awful straighteners bought at your local drugstore with metal plates.Never again!! I'm sticking to Babyliss!! I don't know about the US - but up here they have a 2 year warranty! How can you go wrong with this purchase? This is worth the money to spend on a great investment for a hair tool. They outta call this a 'Power Tool'!!!! Totally Love It!
TWO THUMBS & TWO BIG TOES UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :_)

This is the best ceramic straightener I have tried (including HAI, Chi, FHI, Sassoon, Hot Tools). It not only straightens pin-straight but shines amazingly and smooths as well. Also much better priced than the Chi and FHI.

I used the Isinis straightener for a couple of years before I bought this. I like it - doesn't damage my hair and gets it stick straight. But my hair is thick and long, so I still count on the Isinis (similar to the Solano) for a quicker job, unless I want to do my bangs, in which case the Isinis is too big. The Babyliss is super hot, heats up in seconds, and is perfect for travel. Almost $200 CDN after taxes.

Great product. I have extremely frizzy and curly hair and this iron just flatens it out and makes my hair extremely smooth. I'd highly recommend this product. The only thing is I am worried that it'll make my hair dry if I use it everyday.

This in much better than what I had before, Conair Straightener, but i wish it was a little wider cuz i have so much hair and this takes forever! THis does straighten very well, but I heard there are better ones out there so I wouldn't buy this again.

Amazing, AMAZING flat iron.. I've been searching for years for something to straighten my hair completely (its really wavy w/ kinks in it) and I've only ever got it sticky or really pouffy. This makes it completely straight with some body and nice shine! I think its the holds inside the iron that does the job. Plus its easy! Takes maybe about 15 minutes! I'd definitely reccomend this.

This straightening iron is a timesaver!!! I have thick, strong, coarse hair that is fairly straight, but rather "voluminous", when left to dry naturally. I used to blowdry it straight with one of those "clamp" brushes but it since I've got so much hair, it took about an hour and my hair was still pouffy afterwards!!! I hadn't had much luck with the Vidal Sassoon steam straightener I bought a couple of years ago, but decided to give Babyliss a try recently. It's been the best hair purchase I've made this year! After pinning up my hair into sections, it takes me about 15 minutes to straighten the whole lot! My hair is left sleek and smooth. So I get the dead-straight look I'm after with much less time and effort. I love it!!! (BTW I bought it for $AUD130 from the Shaver Shop in Sydney.)
