To ALL of you who think that the product "Big Hair" isn't pleasant, tell that to the men who I don't even know, want to touch or smell my hair, ask me 'where do you buy that product, I'd like to buy it for my wife'.. and I bet.. I JUST BET you're all single and wonder why oh why you can't get a man.. oooh booo hooo hooo for you stupid women. I HOpe you're all nice and lonely now, because of your stupid comments, now they took the comment off the market. I bet you stink yourself.
Well, the product I've bought enough for when I go to events and special dates with my hubby, and yes, to this day, men - will approach me and ask even if my husband is next to me, aaaand my husband LOVES this product a lot too. He always tells me how much he loves the scent of this shampoo.
IF you don't like a product, don't buy it idiots!! buy something that really repells men instead. I'm so angry at all of you who blew it. I felt like I was in a commercial all the time. It was soooo cool, and still is, as long as I pace myself now.

I can never live without this. My hair is so thin from hair loss, and it makes my hair look so huge. The only problem is that the bottle always breaks halfway through the bottle. The spray doesn't come out properly after that.

$17 for a giant can of crummy product. Didn't make my hair any 'bigger' or 'sexier' than any other spray, has terrible hold and good luck trying to get a comb through it. Total ripoff.

This is like spraying bad breath all over your hair. It's effective enough, but really, who wants their hair to smell like this?

With hairspray bottles, names like big hair usually catch my attention because besides hold, I also seek volume for my fine hair. Purchasing this one however, was a mistake. I barely use it. It gives some volume.. but also stickiness. The major problem for me is the strong, cloying scent. It is so overpowering that I have to leave the bathroom immediately after spraying my hair. Needless to say, on to the next brand..

I think this should be called medium or average hair, as used alone gives a small amount of body, no height, some anti-frizz and soft shine. But never high hair that is promised, its flat on top if I don't use other products, so that was disappointing. Its meant to be used in damp hair then blowdried, but I also use it liberally in dry clean hair and scrunchdry upside down and that gives me nice waves. Its not sticky but does make my long hair knotty and hard to brush later. I think its a product that tries to do a bit of everything but doesn't really suceed at anything.

I saw a website Q & A, ukhairdressers.com/carol/article7.asp where Charles himself says its meant to be used in conjuction with the Big hair ultra liftoff hairspray, so maybe together they would get better results. What an annoyance. They should be sold together if that's what it takes to get the promised big hair! Anyways, he said:

"apply Big Hair Styling Spray to damp hair for extra body. Pin up the top layers to get to the hair underneath and dry in sections at right angles to the scalp using my Big Hair Rollerbrush. Repeat with top layers, unclip the handle and leave the roller section in your hair for volume. Blast the hair with cold air and remove the roller when hair has cooled down. Spritz with Big Hair Lift Off Ultrafine Hairspray to hold the finished look".

The cheery bright pastel orange bottle is a wierd shape. It's hard to hold and spray at the same time (small hands). Spray smells pleasant. It has dimethicone to condition hair and stop the frizzing but alcohol is the main ingredient. I think it might dry out hair long term so not so great for longer hair.

I bought this stuff for less than a dollar at the 99cent store, the first time I used it, it worked really great on my hair but the second time I used it it didn't really do much for my fine hair. I probably won't buy this anymore mainly because of the horrible smell. I don't really like styling products that smell like men's cologne.

I got this spray at the drugstore when I was out of town on business(and had forgotten my regular stuff) and I was really surprised how well it worked. It sets your style and gives volume without stiffness or stickiness, and smells normal, not weird like some of those volumizing sprays. (Girls, I hope you know what I am talking about). Anyway, good price and does its job, so it seems. I haven't tried it in summer yet, which will be the deal-breaker, but seems to do well with my pin-straight hair.

This does absolutely nothing to my hair at all! As with all other volumizing hair sprays, I sprayed this in prior to blowdrying and then shake my hair out. But I saw nothing in terms of increased volume! About the only good thing about this is that it smells pretty good, that's all.

Wasn't very impressed with this product...just didn't really do anything for me. It's not a hair spray, and not a gel...something in between I guess. I swapped this out with the putty; would not repurchase.

Eh...this product is...eh. I just never reach for it. Well, ok, sometimes when I want to freshen up my roots - say, before going out at night - I'll spritz them with this and blow dry for a little more lift. It has the signature scent that all the Big Hair line does, which I love. I don't know, I'm just not sure it does very much. I bought 2 (CW does a BOGOF quite often) quite a while ago and still have both, so I'll have plenty of time to change my mind, I guess. I said I'd repurchase, but I'm really undecided on that.

I'd give this a 3.5 if I could - it does make my hair big, but in a sort of fuzzy, triangle-head way. My hair's curly, but it doesn't enhance the curls at all, just produces mysterious, fluffy volume. It also seems to flake more than previous volumising sprays I've used. Having said that, the smell's OK, it's reasonably priced, easy to apply, and it does do what it says on the bottle. This is for real Dynasty hair - just don't expect to run your fingers through it much.

i bought the lift off hairspray in a travel size. very convenient. the spray itself makes my hair much more manageable, especially my wayward bangs. :D it gives manageability and hold without being obscenely sticky and stiff. the mist is very fine and the major downside for me is the smell, which isn't bad so much as strong. worth it still, just keep your mouth closed and promptly exit room in which sprayed. ;)

On the plus side, this does not dry out the hair at all, despite its high alcohol content. It smells good, and holds fairly well. I only give it a three, as I don't feel it makes my hair that big, despite teasing and spraying for hours. Don't know... could probably do better elsewhere.

This is THE product for big hair but with flexible hold. I spray this on my short hair when wet and then style. I actually have to be careful where I spray it or else I get big hair in the wrong spots! I use it mainly to help flip out my hair in the back. Full size bottles come in weird shapes not convenient for traveling but Walgreens sells Take Aways, travel-sized.
