Disappointed. It defined my curls fairly well at first, but did nothing to prevent frizzing in the humidity - in fact, I think it made things worse. It didn't give me "crunchy" curls, but now that it's the morning after my hair feels VERY dry! Going to soothe it with a deep conditioner and toss this in the garage sale pile.

well first off i absoulutly (sp) hate this product i have shoulder lenth curly hair , and all it did was make my curls look crunchy and no matter how much or how little i seem to put at the ends and in the middle of my hair its always frizzier that it is on its own , and also the spray is to thick so it just sprays in little puddels so overall i wouldnt reccomend this to anyone ( excuze my spelling on some things im kinda sick and would rather not think about spelling at the moment lol )

I use this spray gel because it works better than anything else i've ever tried. It has a good smell and it's pretty cheap too. However, it does make my hair kinda crunchy. While it controls frizz at the top of my hair, the middle to end of my hair is poofy and still has frizz. It works better than anything else I've tried, so every time I try a new product that doesn't work, this is my fall back. I will continue to use it only because I can't find anything better.

I just started like my third or fourth bottle of this gel today. It works really well for my hair type. I love the spray bottle type packaging so my hands don't get so sticky. Yes, it does make my hair a little stiff but not so bad that I can't rake my fingers through it. Besides that, this product does the best job of any other gel I have used as far as controlling and holding my style.

This is one of the rare products that I actually finished an entire container and am going to buy another. I have thick, frizzy, wavy hair. I don't use this to try and create curls - I use it mostly for frizz control and a little bit of hold. I apply to wet hair and either spray it right in or spray it into my palm and apply with my hands. It works pretty well.

i have thick wavy hair and the first time i used this (yesterday) i first liked the results while it was drying but after it completly dried i didnt like it.It was poofy and did not give me much curls it was like a weak wave. but, the day after it looked really cute like that just got out of bed hair, and it was not poofy and it kept the frizzies down. this was an alternitive to the garnier one because i coulndnt find it.so i will probably not buy again

This stuff is horrible compared to other things I've tried. Yes, it forms curls if you have a frizzy mess, but it is waaaay too sticky! Plus it doesn't help protecting hair at all under the tiniest bit of humidity or excess wind. The spray bottle is very annoying, because I like to use a lot of product quickly and apply it with my hands since I need a lot of product..and this takes forever to coat your hair with any spray. Yes, it will define curls, however it does not protect those curls and it is very, very sticky. It gives curls the "crunchy" feel anyway. Horrible.

I'm probably an exception, but I really hated the whole Curl Vive line. I tried it approximately 2 years ago and I gave the products to my sister. Maybe they have improved it since, but when I tried it, I was not impressed at all.
First, I couldn't handle the smell, it was like pourring some anise liquor on my head. Can you tell I don't like Sambuca? lol ;-) But it still smells a few hours after applying the product. I really don't like that scent.
I have natural curly hair, the texture is fine to medium (not coarse), dry and coloured/highlighted. It does nothing to improve the appearance of my curls. The spray gel made my hair crunchy. Yes it gives definition, but the curls aren't soft and bouncy. They are dry and actually they look like curls styled with some heavy gel.
It's even worst when the weather is hot and humid, it becomes really heavy and looks weird (a bit greasy though).
I won't repurchase it.

I have medium length natural curly hair and this is the only thing I will put in my hair. It works wonderfully and gives lots of definition. But you GOT to use it on wet hair otherwise you will get that stiff feel.

Didn't have enough grip for my flyaway waves/curls unless I used a whole lot of it, and then the curls got crispy. I'm using it as a finishing product until it runs out, but I'm not buying it again.

This stuff is fabulous....your crazy not to try it! Surprisingly, it workks just as great as a gel. It sprays out like a dense liquid, but once its in the hair the substance changes a bit and becomes a bit more heavier....but absolutely no weighing down.

I use this product combined with 2 other products. When my hair is damp, I apply Noodle Head and a drop or two of Redken Outshine. Once I am finished diffusing, I apply the L'Oreal Curl Shaping Spray Gel. It gives my curls hold and texture. It is a lot better than just using hairspray. I've also used this product alone on wet hair and it gave me a lot of curl and definition. I'm happy with it!

I used to use this product before I found Noodle Head. It was the only thing that would hold my curls in place, so at the time I overlooked the rock-hard crunchyness it gave me. Now that I have better products, I don't think so highly of this. It sprays unevenly, gets clogged, makes crunchies, and dried my hair out in places. If you want super-strong, TV anchorman-hold on curly hair, get this.

Great product for my curly-wavy hair. I live in a dry climate and this defines my curls and doesn't weigh my hair down. Much better product than any other styling product I've tried.

This gel is just OK. I've been using this off and on for the last two years... I come back to it in the summer months when it's especially humid and I need something with strong hold, because I absolutely detest hairspray. It smells wonderful and comes in a conveniant bottle but the nozzle gets stuck easily. It's more effective if you apply with your hands since it sprays out unevenly, yet even when I do this it leaves my naturally curly hair sticky and crunchy. It's a decent product and it did control frizz, I just don't love the LOOK-AT-THE-PRODUCT-IN-MY-HAIR results.

I have naturally curly/wavy hair that I usually blowdry and flatiron straight. When I let my hair dry naturally it dries into a crazy, big, frizzy poof.
But when I use this product all I have to do is comb out my hair and spritz this gel into my hand, then I scrunch the hair and let it dry naturally. When my hair is 75% dry, I add more of this and it really helps define the beautiful waves and curl.
I don't like spraying this directly on my hair because it sprays unevenly - I prefer to spray it into my palm then apply it to my hair. I do find that my hair might get a little stiff and crunchy if I apply to much of this - but if I encounter crunchies, then all I do is squeeze my hair when it's dry and the stiffness goes away.
The fragrance is great and really smells like clean hair and it lasts throughout the day.
I haven't found another product that eliminates frizz and creates such pretty waves, and I have tried a lot of stuff, including Fekkai Wave Spray - which I returned. L'Oreal states that they do not test their products on animals.

I can honestly say that this is the first hair styling product that I have bought more than once. My hair is wavy/curly and I like to let it air dry. This does the trick. Seems to keep my hair from frizzing and it helps to define the curl.

I picked this up at Big Lots for only $1.99. On my fine, wavy hair, it gives me a lot of curl. I do agree that it leaves hair crunchy, but after applying this to my damp hair, I then scrunch in mousse (I've been using the L'Oreal Springing Curls with great results) - this helps to do away with the crunch. After it dries, I bend over & run my fingers through my roots, which also relieves a bunch of the crunch. I plan on stopping at Big Lots this PM & picking up a couple more bottles of this - at that price, it's a steal for the results that I get with my hair! Love it!

This spray gel is pretty good. It does definetly reduce frizz like it promises too, but it also leaves hair a little bit too crunchy! I guess you need to experiment for a while to find what amount of it is good for you. I also dont like how it leaves your hair looking wet for so long when you let it air dry, but when it finally does dry I really like the results. Compared to other frizz reducing and curl defining products I've tried, this one is one of the best. I will definetly purchase this product again. (Im waiting to see how it will work in the summer when the humidity makes my hair horribly frizz prone and gross)
