This is my favourite mascara! I've been using it for about 2-3 years now. The formula is great on my thin lashes and gives them a lot of length. It separates my lashes and there is little to no clumping when I'm using it. If there is, I just sweep over with a spoolie and that usually fixes the problem. Like the name says - it is indeed waterproof, which I prefer over non-waterproof mascara's because I tend to end up with panda eyes at the end of the day if I'm not using a waterproof formula.

My bathroom is a product cemetery. Every material item that I have loved has been discontinued & now L'Oreal's FeatherLash. My heart is broken. I cheated & tried other kinds of mascaras & forgot to return to my old favorite. It looked natural, lengthened, made them appear teddy bear thick & it did not smudge! I'm going on a treasure hunt in every single local store to buy every last one! Actually, I won't do that, because I am unemployed, but I'll buy one of these babies, if they still exist. Sheesh, this mascara was like the Mother Mary of Mascaras. You wear this mascara to weddings, funerals, tearjerking movies & when you're boyfriend is breaking up with you (if you have a head's up). It's my karma for straying.

I don't usually wear mascara, because I hate the way it clumps my lashes together. My lashes are pretty thick and dark, and they are also pretty long, but the tips are blonde, so unless I wear mascara they appear to be short. The other problem I generally have with mascaras is that most are lengthening, so they they leave dark streaks when my lashes hit the lenses of my glasses; or it causes the product to flake off.
This mascara darkens my lashes without clumping. I put it on 12 hours ago, and no streaks or flakes. I have had this in my makeup box for several months, only using it occasionally, and it has not dried out. It does not look as if I am even wearing mascara, its that natural; it just makes it look like I have incredible eyelashes. I have black, if I could find a navy blue, I would probably wear it daily.
Also, I am sensitive to many allergens, and this has not caused me any problems; nor does it run when my eyes water from my allergies.

Yuck! It clumps my lashes all together, soo I end up with a few spikes here and there. No volume or lenght!
Extremely heavy, always weighs down my curls and it takes forever to dry!
I got this on sale in a bargain bin, but even at a heavily discounted price, I still think its not worth any money at all!

This is one of my favorite mascaras, second only to Voluminous. I loooove it. Applies so smoothly, layers beautifully, lasts very well in the drying/clumping over time department.
For some odd reason, it's really hard to find in my area. I don't know what it is.

I bought this on sale at Duane Reade for, like, less than $4. How can you go wrong with something at that price? Even with the kinks, it's still pretty much worth it. But I do hope that kind of thinking isn't coloring my views on L'Oreal's FeatherLash (water- resistant) in Black. This mascara is definitely perfect for that naturally defined look that is still a bit inky and glossy (the look I like best). At one point I was all about getting Clinique's Naturally Glossy Mascara but I think this may just be the drugstore answer to it. FeatherLash has a nice, full bristle brush. When I first applied it, I thought it was going on somewhat like Maybelline's Great Lash (which I have not used in years and I basically think sucks) and making me look like I have 3 lashes. But then it spread out a bit and my lashes, more defined and full, returned. This could potentially need a lash comb depending on how much you apply and your lashes, but that probably goes for most mascaras. The formula is nice and thin without being runny, and lasted me all day without a single trace of raccoon eye. I planned on removing this first with cold cream and then eye-makeup remover, but I don't think anything even came off with the cold cream - it must have flaked off by that time of day, which is a good thing because it was 10:30 pm. I would've been scared if it had started to colonize my lashes and refused to go. I'm glad this won't require extra cleaning.
I like the no-fuss packaging - a simple silver tube and gold cap. Another very portable product. There were absolutely 0 clumps, and lashes felt soft and light - I hate the usual creamy mascara heaviness. This would look great alone and can create both everyday and more dramatic looks. After drying, the brush seems to get caught on the the lashes a bit if you try to apply more, but I can live with that.
I've read that this is one of the few good brown mascaras so it's probably a good bet if that's what you prefer. Also, it appears that this (or perhaps an earlier version) comes in 2 brush types - curved and straight. I definitely have the straight one but the packaging hadn't indicated that. I've used L'Oreal's Voluminous Mascara before but I think I like this better. I hope this isn't being discontinued - it could be since it was on sale. I write about these things on evolvingforsport.blogspot.com if you're interested in checking it out.

Just lovely. I was a huge fan of regular Featherlash in college, and have just come to appreciate the utility of waterproof mascara (no undereye pigment migration!) after a somewhat disappointing several-months' use of Voluminous. My first application of Featherlash was underwhelming; it barely looked as if I had applied anything at all, and while I found the Voluminous to perform inconsistently, I had become accustomed to the drama it provided. However, I noticed that the next use provided more darkening and thickening, and by three or four uses I was very impressed by the fluffy, delicate, and yes, feathery impact on my fine, nondescript lashes. Great for the office, and can be layered for a bigger look. HG.

I'm always in search of a great mascara (and they're hard to find). I need waterproof everything. I try most of the 'newest' ones out there, but I always comeback to FeatherLash. It makes my lashes full and dramatic, which is hard to find in a waterproof. I always have a tube around. I haven't found one yet to beat it!

I keep a tube of this around for days I might need some waterproofing. I think it's fine, though it is a real pain to remove. In general, L'Oreal mascaras are some of the only d/s ones that don't burn my eyes, and this one is no different. Would repurchase as an occasional-use waterproof.

I'm from Canada and it's not sold here anymore but I still love it. I get my friend from North Dakota to send it to me because even though I experiment with my mascaras, I always go back to this one. It's always a little runny when I first open it, but once it gets a little older, it's amazing! Makes my short Asian lashes longer and fuller!

I have naturally long, curly lashes to begin with, I just needed something to define them and make my eyes pop. I also have very sensitive eyes. After mucho dinero wasted on tube after tube of mascara that didn't work for one reason or another, I came across the Featherlash Waterproof.
I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!
I always wipe my brush off on the inner lip of the tube before applying anyway, so I don't have experience with just unscrewing and applying, but a thin coat did wonders. It separated, went on thinnish but looks natural, which is what I wanted from this mascara. I already have my BLAMMO LOOK AT MY EYES mascara, I wanted something for work and weekends.
Not only does it apply like a dream, it doesn't smudge, flake, or run. It doesn't bother my sensitive eyes, and it lasts and looks great. Plus, I often have problems with mascara making my lashes sting and have this horrible dry feeling, but not with this one. It feels like it hourishes my lashes, and leaves them feeling completely natural.
A+++++ plus plus plus I will def. buy this again!!!

Very natural look, lengthening, no clumping, long-lasting with no smudges. Worked fine for me even on lower lashes. 1/22/09: Added: A week after I wrote this review, the product started to dry out, which is too soon for a good mascara. Changed my mind and won't buy again.

A great day mascara. Maybelline Full & Soft is similar, but I think Featherlash is slightly better. No clumps, no smudges, and it provides just enough oomph to make my eyes really sparkle.

*Since YMMV w/ mascara, I have dark long lashes that are about medium thick, and the tips are very light. I live in a VERY dry climate, & have sensitive eyes prone to watering*
I love Featherlash, usually I buy mascara that'll give me long, thick, dramatic lashes. However, sometimes I want a softer, more natural look and sometimes my sensitive eyes are just teary and I don't want to look like a raccoon. The first time I tried this I was amazed- it softly defined my lashes and gave me mucho length. The next tube was good, but didn't impress me as much. What I figured was the first time I was fairly new to mascara & very timid with application, the 2nd I had lots of experience with thickening & lengthening mascaras so I applied it heavier. This mascara takes a light touch, and I found it works best when some is wiped off the tube with a tissue prior to application. This gives me long, soft glossy lashes and does not flake or smudge. I highly recommend this mascara, especially to those who don't want a heavy mascara on your lashes :)

I'm wondering if I got an old tube, as it doesn't even seem like I'm using the same product that others are describing! My lashes are reasonably long, fine, but plentiful. I prefer a more natural look, and wanted a product with a bit more lengthening than Maybelline Full 'n Soft. This isn't it. I didn't see any additional length comparing this on one eye to Full 'n Soft on the other. There is no thickening, though that's fine with me. However, Featherlash also makes my lashes look spiky and did tend to clump, with very little definition. They are fairly soft at least, after combing through them with my brush from Max Factor Lash Perfection (which incidentally, is the only way they got separated). I wouldn't try this again.

Featherlash is a long loved mascara for me, been using it for years after looking for a bit more length than my previous fave, Clinique Glossy (also a great mascara) This keeps lashes seperated, lengthens with a very natural look. I have tried others in between, but always return to this...It is nice to love a less expensive drugstore mascara, since I firmly believe in tossing it after about six weeks! Works great with Smashbox primer for a fuller look.

I have used a lot of different mascaras, and this was the first waterproof one I have tried. I LOVE IT!!! It seems to hold the curl on my lashes very well, and gives them such great length! When I open my eyes I can feel my lashes touching my eyebrows :-D!!! It removes easily with Neutrogena Oil-free makeup remover. Just apply the mascara gingerly, because if you use too much it doesn't look natural and you may get clumps. I will definitely continue using it, it lasted all day at the beach and still looked great!

Absolutely by far the WORST mascara I have ever had the misfortune to use. Even though it barely went on to begin with, it still magically clumped and fused my eyelashes together in all the wrong places. What the heck??!

Considering that the regular Featherlash is my longtime favorite mascara, I looked forward to trying the water-resistant formula, assuming that it would glide on and separate lashes easily, just as the original does. Instead, this is a very dry and clumpy mascara, no different from at least 90% of mascaras available, and some of them for far less money than this. If the original Featherlash ever gets discontinued, I know that I probably won't consider another L'Oreal mascara, as the company is obviously convinced that we all have only a few fine lashes growing from our lids, and that we'll all be thrilled with their endless variety of heavy and brittle sludge.

This was my first mascara and I absolutely adore it! I wanted a more natural look something that I could use everyday and this definitely does the trick. It doesn't flake, clump or weigh down my lashes. It removes easily with a bit of makeup remover. I will probably buy this again but now that I'm more comfortable with mascara I may branch out for a slightly more dramatic look.
