I have used Retin-A for years, so this apparently was good training for my skin. When I applied this 50% glycolic acid peel, I expected it to burn and sting, but I felt NOTHING. At first I didn't think it was really doing *anything*, but as I washed it off, I noticed that two zits that'd been lurking under the skin for a week, had become volcanic eruptions. WOW. The next morning, it was as if they had never existed.
This is my new PMS-skin routine! My skin just looks glow-y, not red or peeling. This peel did a nice job of helping budge what has felt like a thick layer of skin that I just couldn't get off. I use a Clarisonic and a microdermabrasion paste, but this glycolic peel did in one minute what nothing else has been able to do. I'm amazed, and a believer! (When you have older skin like me, the last thing you need is a layer of DRY to make you look rough and old!)
I just ordered some TCA from MUAC and will try that in a few weeks.

The packaging wasn't anything special, it was a clear bag, but it's the product quality that matters. I'm a newbie to peels, so purchasing 50% was a risk for me. Fortunately, I didn't have any adverse reactions... However, I have done 6 peels (1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes for the last 2) with virtually no results at all. Maybe my skin is just tough, it only tingled and went slightly dry. I'm hoping that when I finally use up the whole thing I'll have noticed something, but it hasn't helped my fine lines, pigmentation or scars. I'm an 18 year old male. I'll buy from MUAC again though, when I can afford TCA kit.

I purchased this for fading of acne scars and sun/age spots. I have combo/dry, sensitive, fair skin. My skin is also very prone to hyperpigmentation.
I have used this for ten weeks straight, once a week, starting with one minute and increasing in one minute increments weekly. I have used MUAC's lactic acid peels (40% and 55%). I didn't see any dramatic fading with them. I got up to five minutes with the 55%.
However, the 50% glycolic peels have given me visual differences in fading sun spots that have driven me to try the 60%. A few spots near my right eye are almost completely gone while the bigger spot near my left eye is following suit. I can't really tell much difference with my acne scars, though. Perhaps the lactic peels are better for targeting red pigment while glycolic peels target brown/tan pigment.
My skin is very reactive so I experienced some flaking, dry areas, scabbing, and redness. The dry areas were rough to the touch but healed before the next peel. The scabs haven't left any scars. I was probably overzealous in my application (time). The results were definitely worth it. I have had the best luck in the winter and avoiding sun. I use at least SPF 50 and I've also been covering spots with concealer.
I should also mention I've used this in conjunction with MUAC's mandelic and BHA.
UPDATE: I rotate them (mandelic, 60% glycolic, 65% lactic) every three days now and have had better luck spot treating and capping at five minutes. My skin reacts most to the lactic peels. Hope this helps.

This peel definitely lives up to the hype. I have done 4 peels, 10-14 days apart, and I have not had a single breakout. My skin is soft and smooth, and the redness has significantly faded. Even my very dark brown spots have somewhat faded, which is not something I expected. Unlike others, I did not experience any burning, only slight tingling at the most. I have done TCA peels and 30% glycolics in the past, though, so my skin may be a it tougher.
This peel is excellent not only to even out skintone and reduce breakouts, but to prep for a TCA peel. I just did a spot peel on a stubborn age spot using the 12.5% tca formula by MUAC and my skin actually frosted on the second layer.
I plan to use this 50% glycolic formula on a monthly basis. It's been a great experience!

I love, love, love this peel and can't say enough about it! Yes, it stings the holy heck out of your face, but the results are fabulous and well worth the minor discomfort. I use this weekly (though I should probably up it twice weekly) and have yet to find another product that works as well. As someone who has acne prone skin, this has been a God send. It really does fade brown spots (finally! a product that actually gets rid of those annoying little things!) and makes skin smoother. My only regret is not finding this peel sooner.

This stuff is no joke, I just did my second peel a couple of days ago and didn't wash with enough water after it was done so my face starting tingling and I had to rush to the bathroom to neutralize the peel and by then my face was red, painful, and angry. I would highly recommend that to be on the safe side everyone neutralizes with a warm 50/50 solution of water and baking soda.
On another note, this a great peel to do between TCA and weekly but only if you put it on a few minutes. My skin was flaky for only a few days and even after the peel my skin looked fine although a bit on the red side. However, I got amazing results once my skin calmed down, it makes your skin really smooth and a lot more even.

MUAC peels are amazing. I equally love this one, the 65% lactic, and the 25% mandelic acid peels. The 50% Glycolic stings the most IME over the 3. I notice the strongest results with this one. Using these peels, my skin really glows and looks great. I can get away looking flawless wearing just a dab of concealer and a TM or loose powder depending on where I'm going. Thanks to MUAC peels, I no longer need med/full coverage foundation. If you are hesitant on trying MUAC at home peels, try the 25% Mandelic first. It's the most gentle, a breeze to apply and there is virtually no downtime or stinging. And you will ABSOLUTELY notice results immediately. And likely others will too. I have received so many compliments on my skin since jumping onto the MUAC skin care wagon. I thank the peels mainly for making my skin look the best it's ever looked.

I love this peel! It's cheap and effective and I can TOTALLY tell a difference after I use it. I have an unhealthy obsession with exfoliation and removing dead skin cells and this product makes my face feel smooth like no other. My makeup just glides on and my face looks so much better after I use it. I actually have a glow to my skin and the tiny lines on my face are much less noticable. I have had professional peels before and I have noticed that my skin doesn't per se "peel" like the professional ones did, but for the difference in price and the end result, who cares. Also, the shipping is very fast. I ordered on a Friday and had my product by Tuesday.

Excellent peel, great price for the sample 0.5 oz. I started using the MUAC 40% peel for about 2 months and recently jumped up to the 50%. Oddly enough, the 50% bothers me less (though this may be due to my skin being used to glycolic acid at this point), and the 50% seems to clear out my pores a bit better.
I highly recommend this peel as well as the Radiance Peel. My skin looks fantastic.

I bought this last week so I have only done one peel but am going to start my 2nd one tonight. I didn't "peel" like I thought I was going to. But I did have some dryness and I did break out in a few spots but cleared up very quickly. My face is tighter and complexion looks better too. I'm not sure how soon you can go back to using toner(acne toner) though. I so would love to know!! Oh and I sed it for 5 minutes the first time cause it barely bothered me. I have had other peels in the spas and maybe I am just use to them. So tonight for my 2nd peel I plan on going the full 12minutes.

I waited to review this and now I have used it 5 times over the course of 5 weeks, once a week. It is much more watery than the lactic acid peel and actually does not sting as much, if really at all. I started with 2 minutes on the first peel, then went up to 5 minutes on the next. I am now at about 6-7 minutes. I use a fan brush to apply it now, which works great. I neutralize it with a cotton ball soaked in baking soda and water. I don't measure out my baking soda solution I just shake the box a little to release some powder in to a coffee cup of water filled up about a 1/5. I have sensitive, light skin with a few melasma areas and scattered acne. I go through phases where my skin is mostly clear with at least one blemish and times where i have breakouts. The first 3 peels really did not do much for my acne, actually it brought up more, but I did notice that between my zits I had really nice clarity to my skin, the pores actually looked smaller. It is now after my 5th peel as of this morning. At first I did not notice any difference, but then this afternoon I really noticed that my skin glowed and my zits were peeling off. I guess for me it just took a little longer to work. I am thinking I will either use this more than the recommended once a week or use the lactic acid peel between this peel because it seems like my skin being acne prone, benefits from exfoliation more often. I have not noticed my melasma changing much, but maybe in time it will get lighter. Atleast its not getting worse. I will repurchase and will probably go up to 60% or 65%.

I have used this peel about 6 times now. Its not an intensive peel for me. It does sting when I apply it, no doubt about that. I feel like I want to itch so bad. I leave it on for 5 minutes and then I usually reapply another layer to my problem areas only. In the days after the peel, my skin does not 'peel'. This is a very 'surface' peel for me. My skin is used to the TCA 18% peel so my skin is already well exfoliated to begin with. I use this as maintenance. I get a little 'red' but that's it. In other words, I have no down time with this peel. I can out the next day and don't have to worry about my face looking cooked. It gets rid of the dead skin, helps with fine lines and I have seen results with it. I am trying to fade a few areas that have old acne pigmentation. This peel in combination with creams and other peels has given me serious results. I recommend this peel. People who have used TCA in 12 % and higher could probably go right for the glycolic 50% and not have to start in the lower percentages. This is what I did and I had no issues.

I've been holding off reviewing this product because so many times people are too quick to praise a product without giving it enough time to know if it really is as great as they think it is. I'm guilty of doing it too :-)
I bought this after trying Natura Bisse Extreme Peel. I LOVED it, but the price is obscene! (I tried samples).
Some words of caution: don't over estimate your skin's tolerance for glycolic acid. I think some of the people who complained about burning their skin or drying it out started with too high of a concentration and/or left it on too long. Also DO NOT exfoliate prior to using this peel! One night I used my Pretika & didn't even think about it and then did this peel. Big mistake. I could feel it burn a little extra and it was red & burning after I washed it off. Sure enough I had burned my cheeks. They had a slight (clear) scab for several days after that peeled slightly. Other than that I've had no adverse reactions or problems with this peel.
I use this two or three times a week. I leave it on for 2-3 minutes prior to my shower. It seems to be keeping my skin smooth and very clear. My pores are cleaner & less noticeable than before I used this. It does take a couple of washes with cleanser to remove to residue. I never peel afterwards; I think it exfoliates just enough- not so much that you peel. I've used this for over 2 months and overall I really like it and will repurchase. For $25 you get a good amount that lasts quite a while. I still have half of each bottle left. It's very cost effective as facial peels go and is highly effective. Wait an hour or so after use & follow with a gentle moisturizer (Paula's Choice Barrier Repair or Complex 15).

Well thanks for nothing MUAC. My relatively clear skin is now drier and grosser than ever. I just wanted to 'refresh' my skin with this product, and after reading the reviews this stuff was a great way to do that but oh boy was I wrong. My chin is painfully dry, peeling and bleeding at time! (Please keep in mind I only did a 30 sec peel). The only thing that is helping is putting pure castor oil on my face. Dont use ladies, this stuff sucks.

This product killed my skin!! I've had my acne at bay for about 6 months due to meds. I do have some black heads on my chin. I thought this would help. Well the first time I used it I had the worst breakout of my life. I thought it's purging and will get better. I did 3 peels in 3 weeks. On the Makeup Artisits Choice site it said the breakouts should stop by the 3rd week. Well every week my skin got worse. Huge cystic acne all over! I mean so bad that my once clear smooth face is very scarred and It will take me months to fix it. It also dried me out like crazy. I guess I should have just stopped after the first try but I really thought It's just purging and would stop. If you do decide to use this product just be careful and if you break out really bad just stop. You don't want to end up with really bumpy, red, scarred skin like me.

I have suffered with mild acne since my teens and am now 43. I have used all kinds of over the counter products as well as prescription topicals. I kept reading the positive reviews about this product and thought I would give the 30% glycolic acid a try, I figured what do I have to lose. This stuff is great! I just ordered the 50% because I feel that I can definitely move up to a higher strength after using the 30% for the past 4 months. A small bottle goes a long way and I am at the point where I do the peel like evey other day or every 3rd day. I have had very few breakouts and my pores definitely look smaller. I can't say enough positive stuff about this product.

Over the past 3 months I have revamped my skin regime to include Make Up Artist’s Choice 50% Glycolic Acid Home Chemical Peel once a week. I also added the ALPHA HYDROX products: Souffle 12%, Foaming Face Wash, Toner-Astringent and Sheer Silk Moisturizer w/SPF15 and (I wrote a separate review for the Alpha Hydrox range under their Souffle product).
I've had loads of positive feedback on my skin, people say it's glowing and looking squeaky clean!
I use the glycolic every Sunday and leave it on for about 6 minutes. After washing it off, my face looks a little red for a few minutes but after that it is kah-pow glowing! I don't experience peeling but after one application I had a stubborn white head on the tip of my nose (how do you get that thing out??!!) disappear. After a glycolic application it just fell out, it was like it was pushed to the surface - I LOVE THIS STUFF and will buy it again.
I started off at 2 minutes, but went to 6 pretty much straight away as I've got pretty robust skin.
On a separate note, thanks to everyone for their reviews. I can't tell you how much I appreciate them. There are so many products out there that it can get confusing and overwhelming. Reading through the MUA reviews really helps making the right buying decision easier, that's how I found the above products. Those companies can spend millions on advertising, but I'm taking your word over theirs :)

I started using this based on reviews I read hear and have to agree that it's a great product. The packaging is bare bones but the shipping is super fast, the customer service is great, and the product rocks. I used this for 6 weeks once a week and took a break and am back to once a week applications. This helps control my oil and cuts down on my acne. It also makes my skin amazingly soft and clear. I do notice occasional breakouts after using it the first few times as my skin purges but after it looks and feels clearer, smoother, and I notice less fine lines. It does sting a little but that is nothing a fan can't take care of. Also, make sure to apply sunscreen like they recommend as your skin will be sensitive after use. Overall, I love these peels.

I loved this product. I agree with all of the positive comments everyone has already mentioned. I have extremely sensitive skin and whenever I change products, I break out right away. I've never tried peels before and was scared of putting chemicals on my face. But after the first peel, I could already feel my skin was smooth. Then I did my second peel yesterday, and my skin looks great. Definitely recommend to anyone who wanted tighter pores. I haven't noticed that much of a difference with getting rid of old acne scars, but will continue using...
