First off, I am not a lippie kinda girl. That being said, this is my one go-to lippie, which says a lot about it. I would describe it as a cool pink, with very subtle blue undertones. It's very pretty and creamy; the texture is great and you don't have to pack it on, which is another great feature.
I'm thinking of trying creme cup as a substitute, but I don't think it will live up to Emphatic status in my book.
I would def repurchase if I could find this somewhere.

I absolutely adore this lipstick and I'm so sad that it's DISCONTINUED. It's a matte, light pink colour, pretty creamy. It's nothing to extreme and is a great compliment to my NC20 skin.

I would describe this color to be girly nude pink with rose undertone. Not frosty n no shimmer. Very pigmented & extremely creamy! Very Pretty! Im basically not a fan of lipsticks n more a lipgloss girl so much can be said about this lippy since all Im wearing these days is this baby! What I love about this color is that although this is a nude pink color, it doesn't wash me out. * Im Mac NC 25, BB Warm Ivory, Kanebo OC-C & Shu 754* One gentle swipe across the lips is enough. It has a pretty lasting wearing power but of course touch up is necessary after a meal. I didn't find it drying but I always use some lip balm b4 any lippy anyway. I also think that this is a very buildable color. I've used BB Posy with this to bring out the pink & EL's Ginger Fizz for a more nude look. This color is a keeper. Will definitely repurchase!

A very pretty lipstick that's highly pigmented and very creamy. I wouldn't buy it again as I find it a little thick-looking and overdone. The quality's there though and, like all MAC products, it's reasonably priced.

Colour can be described as a pale pink in the lighter tonal range with a beige undertone which is not detected visually , only in terms of muting the colour so that is doesn't look so virulent (ie.not too Barbie pink!) !
Pros : a fully-pigmented colour with a soft creamy finish which gives one that glamourous polished full-lipped Pammy Anderson look (but without the collagen injections)! Good staying power too , lasts all day through eating and drinking .
Cons : can be a little drying as with most Mac lipsticks , this can be overcome with some gloss , I like to use Prrr over it which works very well !

Someone described this as cool milky pink-beige, and I think that's accurate. It's quite a pale colour but not quite nude on me. It doesn't wash me out which is great! (I'm a cool PPP with yellow undertones.) It's perfect for when you want natural lips with a stronger eye make up.

i adore emphatic!! on my pigmented lips, it goes on a pale pinky nude with very slight mauve tones...it kinda reminds me of Please Me but its not as mauvy...its opaque enuff to cover the redness......amplified has got to be the best mac l/s formula!!...MMM w/ yellow undertones, C5/C40 skintone.

I would describe this as a pale nude pink with slight rose undertones. I think it's best for night wear because it goes on very opaque. I top it off with gloss to give it a more polished look. But, this l/s is definitely a keeper.

This is of a very matt texture. I find it glides better when I use a lip conditioner on my lips first. This shade is a very pale dusty rose pink that would wear as a "nude" shade on light makeup days or with smokey eyes. Top with a clear gloss, it'll look more smooth and polished. Otherwise, it can be drying. It's definitely more lasting than the "lustre" MAC lipstick. It is very pigmented, so just 1 swipe is enough to give very intense color. This shade would suit most skintones, depending on how you wear your overall makeup.

My take on this color is that it's a creamy pale rose nude. I've never tried a matte l/s from MAC, but it's hard to see how they can make 'em any matte-er than this amplified formula. I don't like this formulation--super opaque and unnaturally thick looking--this stuff is intolerable without a layer of gloss on top. Just my opinion, however, because I am usually a sheer l/s girl. As for the color, I think this is really really pretty but it's pale enough it will wash some people out. It might wash me out to if I didn't top it with gloss, but when I do it creates a perfect nude lip that gives the illusion of very full lips. I agree with the reviewer who warned this looks nothing like MAC's online color swatch--that is way off.

Emphatic was a color that intrigued me when I was looking for a neutral, more pale color to wear with a more dramatic eye look. It is what I would describe as a milky pink-beige. I also agree with some of the other reviewers that Emphatic is a hard to describe color. I was hoping that it would not feel so dry on the lips and I did find that I had to wear a gloss over top. I'm glad I bought it, because it's just what I was looking for in a neutral lip that goes with my fair, cool-undertones complexion and black hair.

An odd colour, somehow both warm and cool simultaneously. But who cares about the colour when the texture is so unbearably drying? It's more matte than creme, I think, or that might be just the way it leeches moisture from the lips. Don't bother with this if you tend to have probs with dry lips.

I was surprised I would like this since MAC lipsticks I dont usually purchase due to the dry texture. This colour however has a very creamy sheer texture. Its a soft rose. No brown or beige as afore mentioned. Not corally or lavender based either. Just rose. Its really nice mixed with Chanel Spark Glossimer. I like this for a nice springtime shade.

This is almost the same color as my lips but more pinkier. I find this to be a soft color with a little oomph without being to bright. The formula is prettty nice and didn't enhance my flakie lips too much. By the way I am a ppp with blue-green eyes and dark golden blond hair.

Oh I so love this color.. its what i have been looking for! Its a light pink thats pretty natural but pink. Its perfect for me because its a light color that doesn't make me look washed out which has been the problem w/ most paler pink lipsticks. I like the texture and that fact that there is no shimmer in this lipstick also its very pretty on.

This is such a pretty color!! It is a very pale pink, almost pastel pink but not at all frosty in color and texture. It reminded me of NARS' Catfight except that this is not as bright and has a little more shine with excellent coverage. The Amplified Lipstick line is great because it helps to increase the size of the lip (visually anyway), along with added moisture that ensures a no-drying effect. For those who are weary of wearing pink, as i was at first, i'd defintely suggest you give this a try since it really looks great on light/ivory skin with Smokey eyes.

This is the soft pastel pink I've been looking for! A creamy color, like strawberry milk, that isn't too white, lavendar, or peach/coral/bright. I like this best dabbed on the center of lips over Twig. It gives a pouty look, brightens my face, even makes a nice blush tone if applied lightly.. what I imagine Pink Swoon to look like. Also love it with slightly off liner for a cool-toned look.
