A gorgeous smelling product in stylish packaging. Quite pricey but worth it if you use it sparingly! The scent is to die for and it really does feel like you're using a premium product.

Great lotion that smells wonderful! A bit pricey, but the smell is worth it. In the scent, I prefer this formula over the Souffle Body Cream. I got my mom and sister hooked on it too! Easy to dispense, no jar to dig into like the Souffle. It's worth a splurge on something so decadent!

I received this lotion as a gift from a coworker and OMG...the scent is amazing. It smells exactly like lemon cake. I used it mostly as a hand moisturizer, but used it for my arms a few time as well. It's a good moisturizer, but my main love for it is due to the scent. While it's expensive for a lotion, it's reasonably priced if you look at it as a fragrance. I need to buy some more as my friends kept using it when we went on vacation.

pee-ew. i tried this on at neiman marcus today because my hands were dry, and then i wondered why i felt sick in the car the whole way home. and then i realized it was the smell of the lotion, which i couldn't get out of my skin even after i washed my hands. it smells nothing like lemon anything! i was really surprised that laura mercier's body products weren't more...sophisticated (?) smelling. this smells like something i would expect from jessica simpson's line of body products. bleh, i still feel sick.

This is the best body lotion out there by far! It is surprisingly creamy but sinks right into the skin without leaving any residue whatsoever. The scent is heavenly, my skin smells like cake! And it stays soft and moisturized for hours. If you compare the price tag with what you have to pay for these body lotions that accompany most fragrances out there, it really isn't that expensive and the product is so much better than anything else. Give it a try, you will most likely also fall in love with it.

Agree this scent is a lemon and vanilla blend which I loved when I got it. Soon after though, the scent began to bother me...all I could smell was the nauseatingly strong and heavy vanilla. (I never used this once during the summer.) I'm hoping it will turn around for me this winter and I can again tolerate the heavy and warmish vanilla. Knock on wood, the cream was mucho pricey...

I got samples of this and I love the addicting scent. It smells like a warm, lemon tarte with vanilla custard. The scent doesn't last as long as the almond coconut milk but the staying power is still pretty good. I would purchase the full size if I can save up to pay the crazy $55 price tag for body lotion since I already bought the almond coconut one.Definitely try it first before purchasing to make sure that you really want to spend that much on this.

I really really love the smell of this (its very addictive, i keep opening the jar and sniffing) but its way way too expensive. it smells like a cross between a lemon tart and vanilla custard with a hint of musk thrown in (the musk seems much stronger in this than in the body wash). It just doesn't seem to moisturise my dry skin at all so for that alone i can't justify the cost. Its a shame it smell so amazing but its back to the L'occitane Armande range for me, great moisturising and a smell thats almost as good!

I adore the way this smells, which is suprising because i'm not a big fan of food-type scents. It smells tart and citrusy, but at the same time creamy and warm like a dessert.. you just want to eat it! It is soo luxurious and makes my skin very soft and silky. The only reason why I wouldn't purchase another bottle of this is the insanely huge price tag. Right now I just couln't spend $40 on a bottle of lotion... so until I have some extra money to burn i'll have to stick with my $4 drugstore lotion.

This is a nice lotion, but for the price I would expect more! The scent is nice. Warm, and creamy with a touch of citrus that reminds me a lot of BBW rich citrus cream or rice flower & shea. The lotion is runny, but does soak in quick and leave skin super soft, but it is not the heaviest of moisturizing.

The price alone is enough to keep me from repurchasing, but I an also get a product of similar or better scent and quality at BBW for 1/5 the price!

The scent of this product is exactly like that of a citrus tart--lemon and vanilla. The scent lingers all day. The lotion is divine, as it really moisturizes, sinking in and leaving soft, supple skin, not a greasy mess.

Two complaints with this product. One, the $55 price tag is outrageous for the amount. I could go through a jar of this every week in the winter. Second, even though the food scent is very realistic, the person who was with me the day I first used it (my mom) thought it was very unpleasant to be with someone who smelled like baked goods. I imagine this would not be an uncommon opinion. While I really like this, I will not purchase again.

This is outrageously expensive at $55, but my sweetie bought it for me as a birthday gift. =) Anyway, here's another perfect rating of this cream. It smells so delicious, it's ridiculous. I'm not good with describing scents as some MUAers, but I'll try my best. It smells like lemon cream pie, drizzled with frosting -- very similar to a French pastry (which it was modeled after). You might think that sounds overly sweet, but nay! I am quite sensitive to sweet scents, since my body chemistry turns most scents into a sickingly-sweet smell, but this scent does not turn on me. (And it had better not, for that price tag!) On my skin, it smells like creamy lemon, warm and inviting, perfect for fall and winter. There is not a trace of artifical scent or plastic tone to it -- just pure, unadulterated lemons and cream. It has a hint of something else -- pastry crust or something? -- but perhaps I'm just imagining that, since I always think of lemon cream pie when I think of this. It also comes in a beautiful glass jar, but I would get it if it came in a cheap-o tube. I have never adored a cream more.

This smells divine. I feel delectable when I wear this. I feel like a tempting piece of poundcake drizzled w/ lemon icing. Laura Mercier has really got the foody scents thing down. There are no artificial notes in her products and you find yourself really really wishing you could eat them. The consistency is as good as you'll find--silky beyond belief, quick absorption, a little goes a long way. . . What more can I say? LM's Gourmande collection has to be the biggest B+B indulgence out there. Worth every penny IMO. And Tarte Au Citron is tied w/ Creme Brulee as my favorite scent in the collection.

This lotion is delicious! And I hate food smelling lotion- it somehow dries to a soft lemony-sweet aroma....hard to explain, but I received many complements. I suggest putting some on before buying.

I really love the smell of this stuff but I need something more moisturizing. I hardly ever use this. I like Vaseline Intensive lotion for my skin. I also feel like if I wear this lotion then I can't wear perfume--I would be smelling like a weird scented person! If you like stuff that is very light, hardly moisturizing, smell like lemon meringue, then this is for you!

This lotion is a delectable combination of lemon and vanilla bean, creating a lemon meringue scented lotion that is light and fluffy, like the dessert it mimics. So deliciously decadent, it's addictive. One of my favorite LM body and bath collection scents. It moisturizes well and doesn't leave greasy residue on the skin. It's not as thick as the souffle, but it's thick enough and not runny. In between the body milk and the souffle and the new body butters, which are the richest in the line. Wonderful lotion and worth the price if you like it as much as I do.

I got this lovely lotion as a gift (*SMOOCH* Aprillia!) and though I probably won't rebuy due to the cost, it is a delectable-smelling potion that leaves you wafting the best of bakery smells. I normally don't like overly foody scents but this is luscious. Average moisturizing power -- if I need serious skin help I wouldn't use this but for scent appeal, this is great. Sweet, lemony, cake-y -- like a buttery French dessert. Makes one want to say "Coffee, tea, or me?"

I got this from a great MUAer in a swap. I love to wear this after showering with the Tarte au Citron body wash (which is also divine). The scent is heavenly...lemon zest, clementine juice, and vanilla cream combine in a musky way to make this a unique and richly fragranced lotion that lingers a long time on my skin. I also find its moisturizing properties to be very effective.

A fancy term for lemon pundcake I presume, tarte au citron smells just of that. It is a rich and foody scent, though not overtly so. I find myself liking it however loathe I am to foody scents. LM does not succomb to overkill, rather she makes the scent soft and subtle. The lotion itself (and this refers to the lotion, not the souflle) is a rather nice, albeit basic, cream that lightly moisturizes the skin. Those who do not normally like foody scents, give these a try. They just might change your mind!
