I have never actually tried this product, but have always wanted to. The reason why I am writing this review is to tell all MAC Pink Packed fans about a fabulous dupe: Revlon's Matte Lipstick in Pink About it. It is the same bright pink (not hot pink or fuschia)with a slight coral (yet still not orangey) undertone. The only difference is the finish/texture. As we all know, MAC's Pink Packed was in the awesome, luxurious Amplified Creme formula, however, the Revlon is definately matte. That being said, though, their matte formula is not dry or cracky like that of, say, Estee Lauder's. Both colors look good full on (for a bold look) or worn down to a stain. So, if one cannot find Pink Packed. Try Revlon's Pink About It...It's very comparable and about 1/2 the price. I paid $7.99 USD, and the MAC is $14 USD. But I still hope MAC re-releases this color so I can do a comparison for real. I got the original tip for these two nearly identical lipsticks from the dear, sweet Makeupalley-ian Cara1. If you read this, I thank you.

Love this colour! I agree with everyone else...it definitely brightens your whole face (tan or pale!). Wore this for a photoshoot once and had the shot in my portfolio....went to a casting and the woman actually asked me if I had collagen done (referring to the pic)! Love Amp Creme formulas...they really make your lips look full and are quite moisturizing! This one is especially good on blue or green eyed blondes!

This is a great corally bright (but a little deep) pink for my NC30 (dark brown hair and eyes) skintone. It's a fun colour that also brightens my face. I love it. I'm sure it would look great under a ton of different lipglosses, but I like to wear it with a dab of Lychee Luxe on the middle of my bottom lip. It makes it look even fuller and glossier. I love pink and coral colours, so this lipstick is one of my faves. I find that I like to wear it more in the summer/spring than in the cooler months. My only complaint is that it seems to sink into the lines in my lips -- it's only really noticable if you come really close to me, but still... some of the amplifieds do this to me. But, the staying power and colour payoff make this complaint very minor to me :).

*edit* Well, I've changed my mind and think that it's a little too intense... I've started to gravitate towards colors that are more subtle and natural, so I'm not feeling this one as much anymore. I still think it's a beautiful color, though! But, I'll stick to the lustres :)

When I first saw this in the tube (got it in a swap) I thought hmmm what a nice quiet looking pink. I swatched it on my hand and it was like WAHBAM! A very bright coral pink lippie!! I thought, there is NO WAY I'm ever going to wear this! I actually put it up for swap lol. Later the same day I decided what the hell I'll just try it on...the texture is HEAVENLY! I've never tried amplified so this was like a big surprise! After putting a gold/beige gloss on top of it, it was a very wearable, cute bubblegum pink! I recommend this with Mary Kay cream & sugar gloss.

This lipstick is the perfect hint of petal pink with coral undertones for spring that gives just a touch of color I was looking for to go with smoky eyes. I'm wearing it today with my Stila Push-Up blush in Cream Flash and it looks amazing. It's a soft pink that will blend well with any look without overpowering, yet enough color to make a statement of its own. I think I like this pink better than my HG MAC pink, Please Me. Not as much drama as Please Me and seems to blend better with my skin tone, NC25. If you are pale like me with yellow undertones, try Pink Packed. Love this color, will be a fav staple in my pink lipstick collection.

This color looked awful on my pale skin. I looked washed out. I think this color could work if you are not so pale.

This is by far my favorite shade by Mac. It's a pinky pink, if that makes sense. It's not barbie pink nor is it a pale pink by any means. On my coloring, fair, green eyes and dark hair, this color just works. It makes my eyes pop, my skin coloring look great and it wears well. It's creamy and smooth and lasts. I dab it on lightly because that's all I think you need to do. I like this on it's own, no lip gloss because I'm afraid it would take away from the color of this. I'd say this color would work for everyone.

I agree with the other reviews, this lipstick really does brighten my face. I love how pigmented it is and how I don't have to keep layering it on my lips to get any color. This always catches my eye everytime I'm at MAC and I reach for it only to remember I already have it. Love it. Might even be my HG lipstick.

This color is super flattering on my MAC NC25/30 skintone. I usually gravitate towards rosey neutrals or plums, but I'm starting to realize I can wear pink colors, too. This shows up a creamy pink coral color on my lips, and I like to layer some clear MAC lipglass over it for a super glossy effect. This color really brightens up my face, and I think it would look great with a tan..even though, I don't have one right now. It is more of a summer color, but I'm so glad that I tried it out.

Gorgeous color. Not too pale, not too bright. Slightly drying, so I wear Purr lipglass over it.

Age: 30-35   Skin: Acne-prone   Hair: Brunette   Eyes: Brown

I really can't say anything bad about the actual lipstick..it is creamy and the texture is good...not drying and not sheer. It's just that...it really wasn't what I was looking for when I went into the Soho store. I specifically was looking, among other things, for a pink that isn't too warm or cool..a pink that would look good on my NC 30-35 complexion..I have really dark hair and eyes..

The MUA Julie was great..helping me with eye kohls and eye shadows..and so I figured I might do better asking for guidance from a MUA regarding pink lipsticks...from the reviews here I was eyeing Lovelorn and I think Girl About Town..

Anyhoo..she picked out Pink Packed and I dabbed some on my already stressed out lips. Mind you, my eyes were done up...a bit smoky but not full throttle..just some Motif e/s on the lid with Carbon in the crease and lining my eye...so with the Pink Packed I thought the effect was nice...a "pinky" mouth that didn't clash or compete with the stronger eye I ended up having. So...took my goodies home and investigated closer...

Well...Pink Packed is indeed a warm PINK...actually it is intense pink with a touch of coral...and on me,straight out of the tube..it is BRIGHT. I certainly am going to have to blot and/or use a lip brush to apply carefully. Secondly..I cannot wear this without some other lipliner and/or gloss to tone down the color. Out ot my arsenal, C-Thru and Viva Glam V actually did the job..as well as my Hard Candy Echo gloss and Tony/Tina herbal lipgloss in Nypmphette...if I use Moonstone it just puts it up a frosty notch..and I need to tone it down in order for it to work with my skintone and coloring..which basically is a light to medium oive.

I am not going to return it..because I can make it work..but overall..I was really looking for a cooler pink..so back to MAC I go and try Sweetie/Syrup..based on reviews, I think that is what I am looking for.

UPDATE: I can now say that the love affair with Pink Packed has officially STARTED. Yes...I cannot, under any circumstance apply this straight from the tube..it simply is too bright for me. HOWEVER...as I said before, applying it with a lip brush..the effects are worth the effort. I ended up using this l/s under both Spice and Subculture lipliners...with Spice I applied a sheer gold lipgloss over and ended up with a wonderful warm pink shade with a touch of coral..looked really good. With subculture under, I ended up using just a swipe of clear lipgloss and it is the most beautiful shade of pink..nice and glossy and perfect for day. I am loving PINK PACKED now...so up to 5 lippies it goes..I would definitely re-purchase..shows how much I know...

Ah, the debate over P-Packed- Well, I adore the 'amplified' formula-I am now spoiled for life, & only want to Use Amplified from this moment on!! Soon (who has patience?) MAC will be releasing around 10 NEW Amplified colors(an MA at Macy's told me yesterday) & there will Be more to chose from the currently 'Limited' choices-Yay!
-Back to PPacked- I don't own it YET, but tried it on 15+ times...the last 3-4 times it has won me over, in a big way- I Love it- I have the more popular 'Emphatic', which is Best left for Summertime, too light for other seasons, IMO

I do not agree with the other reviews at all, in regards to this color being 80s barbie pink. On my NC15 complexion, Pink packed is a gorgeous warm pink with the tiniest hint of coral (just enough to make it warm). The color is just bright enough that it doesn't wash me out or just match my lip tone, but it is certainly not too bright. This is a great color for spring and summer. :-)

reviewing colors seems kind of odd to me since it really is a personal thing, but i must say that i strongly disagree with these reviews. pink packed is what it is, bright and opaque, not something for the timid. it is the exact bright pale pink that i was looking for. it gets old doing dark lips for lip drama or doing beige lips with smoky eyes. this fits the bill. also, it's not "too 80s" it is just 80s enough :)

Yukkie! And I disagree, not Barbie lips, its not bright, pretty, I love barbie colors..
This was a pink that was way too pale, although lipliner Little Tease (?) matched great, still too flat of a pink. It wasnt pink pink but a flat pink, palish-medium color, no depth or sjhimmer, paler than my lips can pull off. It also washed my face out really bad.l If you are blonde with ivory skin you may pull it off, but even with me being a light skin tone it was too 80's, too bimbo!

Ugh Barbie lips. Only PPP's can wear this in my opinion. LLL's and under will clash and look cheap. Reserve this color for porcelain skinned Rose McGowan, Winona Ryder, Jenny garth and Nicole Kidman

This was too bright of a pink on my MMM skin. I tried to tone it down with spice l/l or have it work with cedar l/l but unfortunately it looked just as bad. A pity because its such a pretty color and the amplified formula is so creamy and moisturizing.
