This is a pretty medium pink color. Because I have pigmented lips, it really does nothing for me. But as usual, consistency is waxy creamy. Waxy enough to stick and keep you lip color inside the lines, and creamy enough to glide on smoothly. These last forever too, I have a few that I have had since 2001 and today, in 2009 they still work beautifully. MACs lipliners are one of the true winners in the line. If you like medium pink, this is a fantastic liner.

If I were to have an HG liner, this would be it. I always go back to it and and I am always trying to duplicate it in other lines. For me it is the right neutral. I first tried MAC Spice because I was always reading about it, but it didn't do anything - not enough color. The MAC SA convinced to try the creamliner instead once and I thought that it came off too quickly. No, the Cranberry liner is the one for me.

Unimpressive. It's a really pretty dark pinkish-coral in the pencil but on me it's not the pretty red-pink I was expecting. I do like the color it is- a dark bubblegum-like color but "Cranberry" is a very misleading name. It goes on a little too dry for a lip product and I find myself putting lots of balm/gloss on top to compensate for that.

I am not too crazy about this lip liner. It goes on quite vibrant upon application but it tends to change color. The color does not seem to blend very well. It is a bit chalky on the lips. When applied on the hands for testing it is good, but on the lips it does something strange.

hmmmm

I love it! It's a perfect match for MAC's profusion lipstick! This liner stays on for a long long time. I actually wasn't sure I'd like the pencil liner because I like MAC's cremestick liners but I really like this liner. It goes on creamy and smooth. No tugging needed.

I like it, but I don't love it. This is a dependable dark pink that brightens up my olive skin, it's easy to apply, and it lasts. I find the formula kind of dry, and I have to wear lipstick or gloss over it. I prefer Bobbi Brown lip liners, which are creamy and rich and can be worn alone.

I don't hate this, but I'm not madly in love with it, either. It's the usual MAC lip pencil quality, which is great, though mine melted in a hot UPS truck, something I've never had a lip pencil do before.

As others have observed, this is not a "cranberry" color at all. It's a sort of medium rosy pink with a very faint hint of coral. I really can't understand why this is so often described as "bright." On me(NW15; brunette; green eyes; medium-pigmented lips) Cranberry is very close to my own natural lip color. I got it to wear with Viva Glam IV lipstick, and I think it'll work okay for that. I'll keep this one, but I wouldn't repurchase this shade. I wish I'd gotten Half-Red instead.

This liner was not very pink on me. Its more choral. I've been looking for a true pink liner and this is definitely not pink enough on me. It is a very beautiful color though, I love to wear it with sunset lipglass for very bright coral lips. I' m NC 30 for reference, brown hair, brown eyes.

This is the best lipliner by MAC. It works with almost every lipstick I wear.

I love this shade...goes with every pinky/plum lipstick and gloss. This also is great worn alone and filled in with some gloss. I have had mine for several years and still have a ton left. Great purchase!

Shade description

From MAC Website: Soft rosy-pink

Me: Candy pink-red. This is at least one notch brighter than the colour swatch shown on the MAC website. :)

Comments

Whoops, yet another lip pencil with bad reviews! I tried Cranberry with much trepidation because I expected it to turn out as badly as the others have commented it would, but the colour is really growing on me. :) It's a bright pink-red, so I prefer wearing it lightly. This will look great on ladies with darker skintones, as it may overwhelm fair skins. I think this will look beautiful on a tan, because it's very summery.

My coloring

Yellow-beige Chinese Asian NC35 with jet black hair and very dark brown eyes.

I wear this almost everyday. Goes great with all my pink lip colors (MAC Laquer in Wanderlust, Lipstick in Moxie, and Urban Decay Lip Gunk in Hot Pants).

OK! this colour is PINK like really really pink.. the MAC website describes this as a soft rosy pink.. but it's a lot more PINK than rosy.. a true beautiful bold pink!!.. the name cranberry.. does not suit this at all!!. I LOVE this liner!! it is the ONLY liner that i used up right to the end and ran to the store to purchase another one.. I usually don't use up one entire one or i find one that's similar when i'm done.. so i don't get the same! BUT this was the exception!!i love this pink.. looks great on it own, with some clear gloss or mixed with a lip colour!!> TOTALLY loving this.. my fave combo is.. Cranberry liner with lovelorn/bunny pink lipstick and grape en drape liglass on top!!>. always get compliments. with that combo ESP from guys like "wow i really like your lips!!!..
I'm asian NC20...medium pigmented lips.

I got this in a swap not knowing if it would work for me... and fortunately it does. Its definitely a bright pink with a hint of rose shade & found it to go quite well with the only lip combo that i've used over & over; EL Bois De Rose l/s (i have the gwp one from the gwp EL had during mothers day) which is warmer than the l/l and Poco Pink on top to lighten the lacquer up. This l/l brings out the pinker tones in the l/s & it lasts for quite a long time; never feathers or bleeds and has creamy texture. For now i'd repurchase, but i'm quite sure i'll stray from this lip combo & won't have a use for this l/l anymore=P.

Love the color, matches most of the lipshades I use, ranging from pinks to rose shades, but I have found a cheaper version from Prestige (Baby or something). The Mirenesse Anubis automatic lipliner also suits my purposes more now.

I wouldn't call this color Cranberry either, it is more on the pink side with a hint of red. I wear it with Sandy B and CB 96 and it looks great! I'm LLL to FFF and I didn't think it was too bright at all on me.

Cranberry is very rosy and definitely on the pink side. I love the creamy consistency of this liner, but I'm not too impressed with the color. The staying power is awesome and my l/s never bleeds with this on. It looks great with MAC l/g in Lychee Luxe. Probably won't repurchase.

Cranberry is a true rose colored liner. It's not a bad color, it's just not a color I particularly prefer, which is why I probably won't repurchase this one, unless I find the perfect combo for it. Rose just isn't quite my perfect color, but that's not the pencil's fault, it's just me.

I purchased this because it was suggested by a MA at a MAC store in Kansas City. When I got home I took another look and said what the heck was I thinking. The MA suggested I wear it with Purrr lipglass. I looked like a painted up floosie. P.S. I gave it 2 lipsticks because I am going to try and make it work with something else.
