Vanilla coconut with a slight hint of almond. not too sweet, decent staying power, all in all it is a nice comfort scent.

I don't really wear perfumes anymore but many years ago I bought a bunch of demeter scents online. I remember a lot of them I disliked or liked but didn't see how I could wear it. But this one was wearable. It's sweet, with vanilla and caramel. I can't describe it well but it was a good smell and longer lasting than the other scents.

Technically speaking, a “croquembouche” is a fancy French dessert which is a conical pile of hollow pastry balls stacked on top of each other, and held together with nougat. There are also ribbons of clear spun caramel drizzled up and down the pastry “tree” which gives it a festive, elegant look.

To me, Demeter’s Croquembouche fragrance smells like a cross between freshly made angel food cake and suntan lotion (hint of musk), which may sound icky but it is actually quite pleasant in an innocent, child-like way. I am not much of a gourmand fragrance person (no Lostmarc’h Lann Ael for me!) so the lightness of Croquembouche makes it wearable and enjoyable. Furthermore, as an aside, if you tossed a handful of fresh lemon zest into Croquembouche, you would have La Perla’s Eclix. Yum!

Here are the notes, as gleaned from various internet sources: vanilla, musk, caramel, honey and coconut.

I really like this. It's sweet scent with caramel, coconut, vanilla, and maybe nuts. Like a poster below mentioned, it does have some sillage and dare I say it, amazing lasting power. I know, I know, unusual for demeter. This is a foody scent, but I don't get dripping with burnt sugar sweet, just softly sweet . I love the way my clothes smell after wearing this one day. Very nice. Got to give it a high B - and a yes to the repurchase.

ugh. smells like a donut dipped in dishwashing soap. what a disappointment! i hope the dessert doesn't taste like this as well. one likes a clean kitchen, but not when there's soap in the sweets. give it a pass.

This is quite good! It is a sweet, somewhat tropical, somewhat foody scent. I think it has notes of vanilla, coconut, honey perhaps. It is not cloyingly sweet but more of a fresh sweetness. It actually has some sillage and lasting power on me and very few scents do for me. Very enjoyable!

Obtained this in a swap from a very special lady in the Great Northwest! Had problems finding it in my area. It's a very sweet, vanilla, caramel, milky, coconut scent. IMHO, if it weren't for the coconut it would be purfect. I don't care for coconut scented fragrances. Not that the coconut is that strong, but I know it's there. Very comforting and if you like vanilla coconut together it's a good scent for you. It does have a ton of staying power for a Demeter PMU. Reminds me of a less expensive version of Suzanne Lang's Vanilla Coconut.

Oh my gosh, so nice! While it has an initial period of smelling kind of off (about a minute or so) it dries into a yummy vanilla cinamon marshmallow kind of scent that is just heavenly. As with most demeters, staying power is best on clothing, not skin. Great stuff though, one of my new faves (along with Orange Creamsicle).

this is one of the least interesting demeter pmus that ive ever tried. croquembouche are made of cream puffs filled with pastry cream and stacked into a pyramid/cone shape thats hollow inside. theyre glued together with caramel and decorated with spun sugar.

they smell like buttery vanilla and toasty (but not burned) sugar. ive made quite a few in my day, and this scent smells sadly nothing like one. its a boring plain vanilla without a hint of toastiness or any depth at all.

not unlike spraying vanilla roomspray on the inside of a dishwasher and then sticking your head in it --ambiguous and unpleasant.

I LOVE this!! It has a very pleasant smell. It's somewhat sweet but I also think it has a nice clean scent to it ... like fresh from the shower squeaky clean kinda smell. It has great staying power and if you haven't tried it you should. :) I have never had the dessert so can't compare the two.
Absolutely one of my favorites!!

Smells like a toasted marshmallow dipped in coconut sprinkles. Yummy and warm, the kind of scent that has you sniffing your wrist all day =)

*Yum*!! This is the kind of scent that will make you hungry. A fairly well lasting sweet scent (sweet caramely milk) that isn't nausiating (the way a sweet scent can be). I'm impressed; just hope I don't put on pounds from the way this scent teases my senses ;-)

First, if you haven't tried Croquembouche, a traditional French dessert, I highly urge you to do so because it is heavenly! The pastry consists of a creampuff with cream filling and crisp sugar topping. They're usually served at special events and are the most delightful little pastries ever! I hadn't had one in years, so it was very surprising when I saw that Croquembouche was now a selection in Demeter's collection. The verdict? The scent is remarkably true to its name, with a sweet yet mild undertone that really suits my skin. I don't feel like I'm wearing something cloying and foody, but instead something light, sweet and pleasant. This smells primarily of sweet sugar and warm milk, but it's a far cry from the Condensed Milk PMU, which does not hold a candle to this yummy fragrance. Even the staying power of this one seems to be better than the others!
