ETERNA 27 ABSOLUTELY WORKS! The BEST face product I have ever used hands down. My face is living proof that it works....hardly any wrinkles, super soft, no blemishes, healthy, and I do not have to wear foundation if I do not feel the need. And it works so well on the neck as well. I am 52 and look about 40 as I am told. I think this product has been VERY helpful in maintaining youthful skin and I will not use anything else! NOTE: You can purchase Eterna 27 at Walmart in the Revlon cosmetic aisle as others have stated they have a hard time finding this product.

i just love this cream. Make sure that you get the Eterna with Progenitin, the Day cream is different. I'm 63 with the usual parched skin. After the 1st application, my skin immediately looked plumper and more hydrated. And believe me, I've tried enough skin treatments to fill a large bathtub! I just wrote to Revlon's customer service and begged them not to discontinue it. I bought my jar online. I'll be updating as I continue to use this.

This stuff is crazy. Crazy in that it's so heavy, yet it actually sinks into my skin. Because we have natural gas heat in our home, and because I have a bad habit of going running without proper protection on my face, my skin is sometimes terribly flaky. I've started a regimen of boots microderm scrub, Somme institute a-bomb and this (with progenetin). It is a quick-fix that makes it look like I never had any flakes. I don't use it every night and that is probably why I got the flakies in the first place. I purchased because of the reviews here and am glad I did. I have La Mer and Nivea (still convinced they are one in the same) and not only do they multiply the flakies, but have started giving me huge, painful zits. I'll stick with this as it does exactly what I need it to. It only takes a bit and it is a great value. It does have a curious smell, but it has grown on me. Surprised my sensitive skin hasn't rebelled,

PROS: If you need a LOT of moisture, this may be for you. Price is pretty reasonable.
CONS: The scent is quite perfumed. Almost as bad as the L'oreal Age Perfect line. I need a lot of moisture for my very dry spots, but this really does leave me like a greaseball.
ALTERNATES: I prefer the nearly unscented night cream by Dr. Lewinn by Kinerase at Walmart. My new love is Derma e's Hyaluronic Acid Night Cream.

Use this at night by itself or over your serum or retinol or whatever and your skin will look younger. I'm referring to the Eterna 27 with "Progenitin," not the one that says "Day" on the front. It's so funny, the ingredients are basically "grease, grease, ...grease, grease..." The packaging is plain and retro looking. Even the instructions are retro. It says to apply "1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon." I guess as a woman, you're supposed to know how much that is because you're in the kitchen all the time, lol... But I'm going to have to assume that Revlon has continued to make this cream since the 1960s because there is a demand for it.
If you're on the younger side and you try it and think it is too heavy, it might work for you years down the road when your skin changes. Keep it in mind then.
EDIT: Formula appears to have changed slightly. Still haven't found anything better.

OMG Love love love! This is an amazing moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin and am so surprised this has not made me breakout it's quite thick, This leaves me skin feeling so so so smooth and plump!! So plump its amazing! (I can't use this alot because of the fragrance it gives me blackheads after awhile, but I change my skincare routine every day/night, because my skin gets used to products so I switch around all the time). I had to take off a star because of the fragrance. My skin doesn't like fragrance so I have to use this minimally.
I was so upset I discovered this after its been discontinued! http://www.beautyproductscompared.com/eterna-27-review

I'm 16, & I have acne-prone skin. This jar was sitting around in my stash of makeup, I never really paid attention to it because of the packaging.. it looks so boring and dull. I finally dug this up to try and man.. this stuff never broke me out, I use a pretty generous amount on my face and down to my neck, because when I turn 35 I better not have any wrinkles. Definitely going to CVS or walgreens to get another jar of this tomorrow!!!
I recommend!!

I bought it by curiosity and I have seen a lot of old ad about it before.
Firstly,I think it is a typical grandma stuff but once I put on my face and my skin got smoother and softer instantly and it really relieve the dryness in winter, even I live in Hong Kong, the weather is supposed to be more moist here. But it works wonderfully,I personally love the smell so much and I wish there is a fragrance can smell liked the same,so nice .I read the ingredients on the bottle and there are lots of different oils in it and I heard there is the formula supposed to cure the burnt skin and Charles revson bought the formula .it is a classic and everyone has dry skin should try this one and I already finish one bottle and I just purchased two on ebay, next time I will buy a big 120ml version, why do we use on body too? so delicious

Finally, a moisturizer that that REALLY moisturizes! After reading all the positive reviews I had to give this one a try. Have been using this for three weeks, day and night, and it's doing a bang up job and making my (dry, parched) skin look and feel like velvet. I tried this when I was in my 20's and swore I'd NEVER go near it again because it made my skin feel and look like an oil slick. But oh how your skin changes as you mature! I LOVE this cream now! I apply after my anti-aging serum and my skin just drinks it up. It is a little heavy at first but within a few minutes my skin is soft, smooth and ready for foundation. This has greatly improved the crepeyness and fine lines under my eyes and I'll continue to use it as long as it's available. I heard it was being discontinued and am praying that's just an ugly rumor! I can see why this has been a favorite for the past 50 years! IT WORKS!!

I'm giving this cream a chance based on all the positive reviews & even my mom told me 2 of her older coworkers use this cream longterm & they have great looking skin for their age.
I'm a couple years shy of 40 and have noticed changes in my complexion in the past few years - my oil-slick face has dried up & while my skin is still temperamental at times, it doesn't break out with acne anymore (f-i-n-a-l-l-y-!-!-!) yay, but my eye area is growing in dry lines (boo).
This very affordable cream is so intensely rich & thick, I'm surprised it hasn't clogged my pores & made me break out. yay! The only real problem I have with this cream is that it's too thick... the instructions say to massage it into the skin but this cream is so thick it's difficult to massage it in without tugging excessively at my face. No thanks! So I just scoop out a sufficient amount, rub my fingers together to spread it thinly, then softly pat my fingers all over my fave & gently rub it on a little bit. I would love this cream to have a little more slip or a little bit of sheerer texture for easier application & greater absorption. Oh well.
It's a brutally cold this winter, so I'll continue to use it at bedtime & see how it goes. I need something to work. Underneath it I also apply Serious Skin Care Replicate & Renew cream (plant stem cell skin treatment) but it isn't rich enough by itself to comfort my skin. Two years ago R&R was a bit too rich for me (except winter time) but now it's not enough at all.
It's weird, when I apply Eterna 27 my skin is a bit greasy & certainly soft to the touch, but my skin itself still feels uncomfortably dry & thirsty, even when my face is still slightly moist from washing. I thought this cream would seal in the moisture. I wonder if something's missing... but I'll keep giving it a chance.. I've only been using it for less than a month at this point.
So far it gets 3 lippies for good effort. I hope in the future I can increase that rating to 5. I'll let you know.....

a combined 30 years of use -- my mother's, aunt's and myself are the best recommendation for this product.
don't pass it by because it seems heavy or "old lady" -- it WILL work, it WILL keep your skin younger for a longer period of time.
I always use this for my nighttime moisturizing and recommend anyone over the age of 25 should start using this on any dry areas of your face and neck... my neck looks great compared to other women my age or younger thanks to this product.

I thought I'd reviewed this already; anyway I first tried Eterna 27 maybe 20 years ago [when I was a baby...} and threw the whole container away when I thought it was too greasy for my combo skin. Well, now I'm ahem "over 45" with dry skin. I found this stuff again looking for a d/s moisturizer after Neutrogena products left my face and eye/undereye areas a little dry and crepey looking. I'm so glad I found this luxurious cream again. My skin was noticeably more supple and dewy in under a week and the crepey look under and around my eyes was gone. I can't say enough about this wonderful product; I'm hooked and use it every night. I also found the day moisture cream (on Amazon) and now use both of these over alpha hydroxy products. I will definitely repurchase, although the 6 oz Eterna 27 with progentin (night cream) I purchased will likely last me a year with daily use. The day cream is very emollient, doesn't sting my skin, and my foundation applies like a dream. It is a "YES" for me on both of these products. Hope Revlon never dc's.

Wow, I can't believe I have not reviewed this product yet. I have been using this moisturizer on and off for over 15 years and it's by far my favorite moisturizer I have ever used be it high-end, boutique or drugstore brand moisturizer. I discovered this moisturizer from a mentor whose age confused me when she told me she had daughter in her late 20s for this woman looked like she was in her late 30s but her chronological age at the time was 57 years young. After getting to know her better she told me her secret - this moisturizer - and I quickly went out and bought it and I was amazed at the results.
On to my review, I used this moisturizer faithfully for a couple of years and then I couldn't find it in drugstores so I went on the other moisturizers, however, whenever I stumbled upon this gem, I purchased what was in stock and stored it in the refrigerator (at one point I had 12 jars of this moisturizer in my fridge – I loved this moisturizer that much!). Now let me say that I don't have dry skin, I am in my late 30s so my skin is not yet mature (this is a wink and nod to the previous reviewer) and to date I don’t have a wrinkle on my face. My skin is normal, so at first I thought this thick moisturizer would overwhelm my skin but that was till I tried it for the first time prior to bedtime. I woke up with my skin glowing, literally glowing & super soft and I attribute this to the various oils (i.e. Sweet Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Sesame Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Corn Oil, Mineral Oil, and Beeswax) in this moisturizer. This cream is quite thick so I use it as my daytime moisturizer in the colder months and as my night time moisturizer year round. In the warmer months, I use the Revlon Eterna Lotion which is lighter version of this cream. The only con for this product that I can think of is that it’s difficult to find and does not have a SPF, so I just use a separate product for sun protection which is not big deal since this is such a great product and it is affordable at less that $16 a jar.
Thankfully, I have rediscovered this gem earlier this year and I could go on and on and continue to sing the praises of this product, but I will end my review by saying that as long as this moisturizer is in production this will be the only (yes, THE ONLY) moisturizer I will put on my face. To say that this is a HG product does not begin to explain the high esteem and importance this moisturizer has in my facial skin care regime. If you are remotely curious about this moisturizer, I have seen it occasionally sold in Walgreens as of late and it is also available online from Drugstore.com and Amazon.com but get yours before I buy the entire stock – so consider yourself forewarned.

This product is excellent for mature skin. Now ladies, I have seen a great many reviews for this product and many were by 30 something young women who said they bought it because they have mature skin.
No my babies you don't have mature skin! When you get my age (48) or a couple of years either way, you will have mature skin. It has to do with aging and hormones not your chronological age my sweethearts.
Now if you are very young (under 45) and have extremely dry skin or times when your skin is chapped etc..during winter yes by all means use this product.
As for the ladies here with actually mature skin (not what the beauty industry defines as mature skin which is now down to the 30's age range~ oy vey! This is the absolute best cream I have ever, I mean ever slathered on my face. In two days I noticed an extraordinary difference in my skin. Does it make me look younger than my years? Probably not, but I'm comfortable with my years as many women are.
No doubt you have got to try this cream. I use it after washing in the evening, leaving my skin slightly damp. I apply the cream, massaging gently to my face until the product can't be seen. I then let it sink in to my skin, for an hour or so before I retire.
The fragrance is divine. Not too much really. My Husband and my daughter love the scent. Really...this product is excellent but it is best used on mature skin and/or extremely dry skin.
If you match that description~ try it you'll love it.

Wonderful WONDERFUL product that is now my HG night-time moisturizer. Read about a million outstanding reviews on this (on another site actually) and went out frantically to find it. For some reason it is never with the other moisturizers so it may be hard to find, at Walmart I found it over by the Revlon make-up area kind of tucked away below the makeup - stupid if you ask me!
From the other reviews I read there are women that have used this for years that look dramatically younger than their real age. That was enough to interest me and I have to say it is the only thing I have found that keeps my skin moist and hydrated in the harsh Colorado climate. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Thanks REVLON for such a great product!!

Wow well I've been using the all day cream, and recently I bought the night cream and the day lotion. This never broke me out and provided moisture when I needed it. For the night cream, it's very heavy and greasy, but no breakouts. I don't know about any anti aging benefits but as a moisturizer, it's great. I will prob repurchase when I run out.

I love this moisturizer. I use the all-day creme now, but I am wanting to get the night creme as well. I have dry, flaky skin and this moisturizer has made my skin look and feel so smooth and soft. The tub is going to last me forever because a little bit on your finger tips is all you need. It's very thick, rich, and there's no strong smell that I can notice. I never get greasy throughout the day, and it helps my foundation look more natural and not so cakey.
The condition of my skin has improved as well. I used to have skin discolorations but they seem to have faded away now, and I do not get zits as often anymore. I almost want to forgo foundation my skin feels so wonderful!
I highly recommend this product for those with dry skin. It will definitely improve the moisture and leave you glowing.

Absolutely the best moisturizer I've tried for dry/dehydrated skin. I've tried everything from the LaMer counter to drugstore aisles. This improved my skin immediately. This is strictly for moisture, so you'll need to use a separate product for any type of treatment, but for moisture this product saved me/it can't be beat!
